My first time ice skating ever! Very nice facility. It has two skating rinks, what looks like a recreational/games one and one for hockey practice. We didn't try their food but they had a lot of dining space inside and outside. Staff were very nice! Only draw back is that it was pretty pricey. They don't have any promotional nights such as family Wednesdays, half off Tuesdays or anything like that. They did do night lights skating or something like that where they turned off the lights and turn on colorful lights while skating. Pretty neat. I'd come back it was an overall good establishment with good opening hours.

Signing up for ice time online vs in person!

It's hard to give it more stars because it's missing some amenities. Chilled Ponds caters to a hockey crowd but has a small figure skating community. The food is great and they have an actual chef in the kitchen who's fantastic! There isn't a good off ice warm up area. The bathrooms are a very far walk from the rinks while the hockey locker rooms are near the ice. They offer walkers for beginners. The Zamboni doesn't do a great job of the edges of the rink and some ridges or untouched areas are left behind near the goal lines. The hockey lines are also faded. No wristbands or entry points necessary, just front desk and honor system in place for entering the rink. They could also use more benches for lacing up, most of them are against the hallway walls but there's a ton of open space in the middle. Hopefully they read this and see all the good and potential improvements to be made. Overall, great rink!

We were a touch early and had to wait a few minutes for the Zamboni to finish re-surfacing the rink.

Full disclosure. I'm not a huge baseball fan and I've been to a Tides game before, but this time…read morearound was really fun! I believe it was due to the level of experience I had. If you have the opportunity to see a Tides game and have access to the picnic area that's the way to go! I had tickets via a corporate event and we had seats in section 117 which is down in front closer to 3rd base, but also include access to the picnic area which had a better view and included up to an hour and a half duration of food. The food served is dependent on the menu choice the organizer paid. We had menu 1 which consisted of hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, potato salad, cookies and nonalcoholic beverages. Staff replenished some of the food, but the chips and potato salad and cookies went fast! Their hamburgers and hot dogs are really tasty too! I enjoyed the spread! I think another menu option may include fried chicken, pulled pork bbq, coleslaw and potato salad as well but we didn't have that menu. You can choose to return to your seats to watch the game or remain in the picnic area. I felt the picnic area was a more pleasant experience and had a better view of the field. Most of the area is covered, with a 1/4 of the seating uncovered closer to the field. They have bar counter top seating closest to the field and picnic tables and some four tops. The set up for food was efficient and has both side access for two lines. They have two food buffet areas, At the time there was another company that had an event as well and had the other buffet with chicken. Drinks are served at the picnic concession counter and the women that manned it were friendly and efficient! They also have bathrooms in the picnic area which was nice! The games have fun little silly mini events to break up the monotony between innings. We happened to have great weather that day ! There was a light breeze, wasn't too hot nor humid. I recommend bringing sunglasses and or hat to help keep the sun at bay. You can look on their website regarding parking options. Lot C is the only lot you can pre- pay online for and parking for LOT C is available up until first hit at 6:30pm as long as the lot doesn't sell out prior. ($7), the other lots are first come first serve and is credit card only. I believe the park is cashless pay. Other parking options are riding the light rail or parking at MacArthur mall for free. If you have game tickets light rail rides are free 2 hours before game time.

Even though it shows up on Google Maps as a big green space like other parks, Aragona Park is a private park and is not open to the public. Today was our first visit to this site, host of the 2018 Little League 8 District tournament. I…read moreswore my GPS was pranking me because it is tucked away in a neighborhood. Main parking lot fills quickly and can be tight to navigate leading up to game times; there's a gravel driveway near the far left field that leads to an ancillary lot with 10 more spaces. Look for the dumpster. They offer 5 ball fields in total: 1 "major" level field with metal fencing and full protective netting, 1 "minor/coach pitch" level field with extended metal fencing and 3 other "minor/coach pitch" level field with sparse metal fencing. Each has their own scoreboard and announcer boxes; the snack bar is tucked beneath the third field's announcer box. Sadly, the PA system for the third field was mostly inaudible buzzing and 100% HORRIBLE, as if it were from radio shack or Montgomery Wards in 1970. It's your child's big moment to be introduced/announced but the sound is worse than a broken drive through system. #Fail. I'm no conspiracy theorist but there was a weird working vs non-working audio correlation depending on which team required the announcement, not in our team's favor! As for field playing conditions: lines were chalked, grass was cut, infield was fairly raked and an orange temporary fence was installed to reduce the outfield boundary. The dugouts were the usual caves with a long wooden bench for ball players. There are metal bleachers for spectators but beware of the off-field lack of shade; there's nowhere to hide from the sun. Also, there are no playgrounds or buffer spaces for non-player children!
