Shrimp toast may be over done but it is good!

Chimmelier- ROUND TWO! I came by for dinner and tried it out for the second time, this time, having it made to order. At 6pm on a Tuesday, I lucked out and found metered parking. I ordered 5 Yang'yum wings combo, with seasoned fries with a small order of shrimp toasts. Let me tell you, the portion was HUGE! Very generous serving and I had leftovers for lunch the next day. The wings were sauced up perfectly. The Yang'yum is sweet, not hot at all. They do have a spicy version of this sauce. The wings are crispy in the breading and the meat was moist. The shrimp toast may be a bit overcooked but it was delicious! I get it why it is popular. Chimmelier on Melrose is perfect for us in Mid City and don't have a chance to get to Koreatown.

Chimmelier is a hit!! Super casual dining, fast food style but homey. Parking for this location is on the street like any other LA spots. Very small spot but if you avoid lunch and dinner times you will be solid! The service is very good with thorough menu explanation and they don't rush you :) their chicken combo is great as well as the SHRIMP TOAST!!! Must try. You have options for alchy so you can get the chicken wings with beer or yogurt soju (try it out you won't regret). Definitely recommend this spot! Or other chummier too :)

Overall Experience (9/10) - I love this Korean fried chicken place. The food was wonderful and we got free food and we also got free food too. The service was good and the people were nice. The store had a lot of seating and the ambiance was nice too. It was just street parking in the neighborhood. Food - The chicken wings were crispy and had a nice flavor. The soy garlic flavor was well balanced. The spice and sweet gochujang flavor was well balance and not too spicy. The kimchi friend rice was a bit spicy and had a stronger spice flavor for a kimchi Overall - The food was wonderful and the service was good. I would return back to the for more food. I also came for the grand opening and tried their food and it was wonderful so I came back again.

I was so excited to try Chimmelier after having another location bookmarked for so long, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. It was slow. In a near empty restaurant our order still took over 30 minutes. Our food finally came out and looked amazing. Bit into a fry and it was cold. The outside was nice and hot and crispy, but the inside was still cold/frozen. They graciously took it back and made another batch, but it was a rocky start after a long wait. As a big fan of Korean fried chicken, I'm sad to say the chicken wings were not good. The wings were well fried and crunchy, but were severely under seasoned and the batter was super dry and powdery, like there was too much flour or corn starch. I think they forgot the salt. The yangyum sauced wings were better, but still couldn't mask the bland chicken meat inside. The good-The chicken sandwich is great and really saved the meal. It was huge and came with juicy chicken that was well seasoned and had unique burger toppings. The workers were friendly and the space is a chill hangout spot. Hoping I just came on an off day when everything just went wrong, but I'm not rushing to revisit anytime soon.

Ventured out to try this restaurant on a night that I had a huge craving for Korean fried chicken and I wasn't disappointed! Chimmelier was easy to locate and parking was no issue. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the staff who were super nice and explained how we could either order with them or through the screen. Food was delicious! We ordered the 8 piece chicken wings with fries. The sauces were the star point and I loved trying each one to see which one paired better with my chicken and fries. I love the overall concept of the restaurant. It has a fun vibe and the great music added to it as well. There's a good amount of seating which my friend and I took advantage of. We will definitely be back!

Scrumptious! Excellent, friendly, accommodating and extremely helpful customer service! Great vibes inside; colorful not stale decor and nice tunes on the speakers to enjoy if dining in. Now onto the food, ordered the chicken burger with fries and thoroughly handled that combo like the most pleasant self inflicted culinary light-work one could give their self. Top note: chicken was so moist and juicy, it was almost fluffy..and the seasoning was more savory & sweet forward with a tiny bit of spice in rear. Fried had similar seasoning so there wasn't any contrast but came with dipping sauces so that allowed for some variety. Great experience and would surely revisit.

So good! I ordered the popcorn chicken to share with my kids and it was amazing! Chunks of juicy chicken, all white meat, and seasoned fries. It comes with a delicious sauce that reminds me of raising canes sauce, but it's better in my opinion. We also tried the garlic aioli, which was really good with the fries. You can dine in and they'll take your order at the table, or you can order to go on the kiosk. They offer other Korean street food snacks, chicken sandwiches, and fried chicken. The storefront was upbeat and vibrant. We will definitely return. It's nice to have another food option on Melrose that's open late.

The food was delicious and the service was EVEN BETTER! we went today and Allan helped us out! He was awesome! He had great recommendations! So we ordered everything he said! Once we got our food, i asked for something spicy and he brought us two different sauces that were bomb! He explained all the history and everything about the sauces and drinks! I absolutely love when I can go somewhere and the staff make it feel so special! He was super knowledgeable and friendly! The chicken was so nice and crispy! I wish i would have ordered the sauce on the side so i could try more sauces! And i highly recommend the shrimp toast! Those were amazing! The restaurant ambience was cool! Felt like korean street food!

I am so happy this location opened. I love this spot so much. You literally cannot go wrong with anything you order here. But, I always have to have my shrimp toast. The staff here is so friendly as well. The vibes are always great. I cannot wait to come back.

I've been here several times since the grand opening. It is really nice having this location which is closer to where I live. The food has always been delicious. My current favorite item is the kimchi fried rice. As someone who normally doesn't like any spice this dish really hits the spot. Very tasty and just the right flavors. The honey butter chicken is super delicious and everyone I share with also agrees. The staff here is really great as well. Highly recommend it!

Should've known this place was gonna suck since it's on Melrose. They give you old chicken and old fries that are reminence of eating at the hospital cafeteria.I'm sure the k-town location is a lot better but this honestly was horrible. The OG wings had like no salt or seasoning at all and tasted like they haven't change the oil in weeks. I'm sure the dude at subways who cleans the toilet, mops the floor, and makes your sandwiches on night shift could do better. The yum yang chicken wasn't bad, but again it tasted like it was sitting at a Von's deli counter heat lamp until 7 pm.

The kalguksu was incredible comforting, with chewy, long, freshly made noodles in a rich, savory broth that was packed with clams. The beef bulgogi was also delicious. It came with a side of salad and rice. The bulgogi was tender, well-merinated, and paired well together with the sides. The bossam was amazing! The best we've tasted. We all loved the perilla seed kalguksu due to its taste and also bc it's so healthy for you. The owner came by to check how we liked the galbi kalguksu since it was a newly created dish and we told her that it was delicious, seasoned just right. Before the meal, as they brought out the side dishes, they brought out barley rice with denjang on top to mix with yeol-moo kimchi. That was a special touch. We absolutely loved the food there. I saved the info so that we can return when we visit Koreatown again in the near future. Highly recommend this place to anyone who craves exceptional Korean food.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
