I ordered from K Chicken over the holiday because the Yelp reviews looked promising and the restaurant is close to my house. Since they recently opened, I was genuinely excited to try a new local place and support a new business. We ordered a pretty full meal to experience several menu items instead of judging from one thing only. Our order included one whole chicken split half Original Fried and half Galbi Sauce, Nashville Hot wings, corn salad, coleslaw, and chili cheese fries. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from beginning to end. The biggest issue was the chicken itself. Starting with the Original Fried Chicken -- visually it looked crispy and golden when opening the box. At first glance it looked like exactly what good Korean fried chicken should be. But once we started eating, the reality was completely different. The chicken was dry throughout every piece. This was not an issue with only one section or one type of meat. Every piece we tried felt dry and lacked moisture. There was almost no juiciness inside and the texture felt overcooked. What surprised me most was how little seasoning there was inside the chicken. It tasted like the chicken had not been brined enough before frying. The inside of the meat had almost no flavor. Instead of tasting seasoned chicken, it mostly tasted like plain chicken covered with fried coating. Another major issue was the oil. The chicken seemed like it had not been drained properly after frying. There was too much oil left on the surface and inside the coating. Instead of feeling crisp and clean, each bite felt heavy and greasy. Good fried chicken should feel crunchy but light enough that you want another piece. This felt like oil stayed trapped in the coating. After several bites the greasiness became overwhelming. The Galbi Sauce Chicken had similar problems. The sauce looked glossy and rich from the outside so expectations went up. But after eating it, most of the flavor stayed only on the skin. The chicken underneath tasted almost exactly the same as the original version. The sauce did not seem to penetrate into the chicken. Every piece had the same pattern: strong flavor outside, almost no flavor inside. The coating also felt thick. Combined with the dryness of the chicken and excess oil, the entire experience became very heavy. Galbi chicken should usually feel balanced with sweet and savory flavor throughout the whole bite. This felt more like plain fried chicken with sauce brushed only onto the surface. The Nashville Hot Wings were another disappointment. I expected deeper spicy flavor and a richer Nashville-style profile. Instead, the seasoning reminded me of powder sprinkled on top. Personally it tasted similar to Shin Ramyun seasoning powder. Not because of spice level but because of that dry powdered seasoning feeling. The flavor sat separately from the chicken instead of becoming part of it. There was heat, but not much depth. It felt artificial rather than flavorful. The Chili Cheese Fries also needed improvement. The fries had already absorbed too much oil and became soggy. There was almost no crisp texture left. Another issue was the topping distribution. Most of the chili and cheese were concentrated heavily on one side. Some fries had too much topping while others had almost nothing. The balance was inconsistent from bite to bite. It gave the impression that the dish had been assembled quickly without attention to detail. The Corn Salad and Coleslaw were okay. Nothing bad, but also nothing memorable. They added freshness but could not compensate for the quality of the main items. Overall the same problems repeated throughout the meal: Too much oil. Chicken that was dry across all pieces. Very little seasoning inside. Sauce sitting mostly on the outside. Heavy texture. The presentation looked much better than the actual eating experience. I understand new restaurants are still improving and adjusting after opening. I usually do not leave negative reviews because I know opening periods can be difficult. But fundamentals matter. Seasoning. Oil control. Texture. Consistency. Those things define fried chicken. I really wanted to enjoy this because it is nearby and convenient. That made the disappointment even bigger. I hope they improve the brining process, reduce excess oil after frying, balance the sauce application, and focus more on consistency. Unfortunately based on this experience, I do not think I would order again. I tried multiple items specifically to give the restaurant a fair chance. But nothing stood out enough to make me want to come back. I expected crispy, juicy, flavorful chicken. Instead, I experienced dry chicken, excessive oil, seasoning that stayed mostly outside, powdery wing seasoning, and soggy fries. Maybe this was an off day. But as a first experience, it did not match the reviews or expectations.

Been here twice already and never disappointed. Crispy and flavorful fried chicken. Spicy rice cake was tasty and not too sweet. Took a little time but definitely worth the wait.

I ordered the Korean-style whole fried chicken. The batter is extremely crispy -- it practically falls apart just from touching it. It seems like they focused too much on making it crunchy, because the chicken ends up overly greasy, while the meat itself is dry and lacking juiciness. Maybe they added a slight sour note to cut through the richness, but aftertaste is actually quite unpleasant of the end. The inside lacks the moist, clean, and savory flavor that good traditional whole chicken should have. It's crispy only on the outside. Maybe other menu is better, but I haven't tried yet.

I just wanted to take a moment to highlight this establishment ! Yesterday, my boyfriend and I decided to go to the Korea vs Mexico watch party in Seoul int park but it was super overcrowded and overwhelming for me. We decided to leave and start making our way to a restaurant or a bar with the expectation of it being very crowded. We stumbled on a TikTok video of this establishment and we decided to give it a try. We enter and they let us know it was a take out only option since seating had to be reserved. We understood and had the expectation to just take out and make our way back home to eat. The owner of this establishment was super kind he told us to sit down since wait times would take long (which was understandable!) We had a great time at your restaurant as being the only Mexico fans ! We enjoyed your hospitality and appreciation for giving us food for the wait time. Thank you so much for the great time, hospitality and great food! We will definitely be coming back and with my family! Hope your business keeps flourishing hermanos

Let me start with the person who helped us. She was kind, helpful, and patient when it came to us ordering. She provided suggestions as well, which was helpful. The food was amazing .. the chicken was juicy, flavor and above all crispy. I mean crispy like pioneer chicken. If you know.. you know. Hands down one of my new favorite chicken spot. The ambiance was nice as well. Calm place to do work as you munch on your chicken and sides! Recommend this spot for sure.

The kalguksu was incredible comforting, with chewy, long, freshly made noodles in a rich, savory broth that was packed with clams. The beef bulgogi was also delicious. It came with a side of salad and rice. The bulgogi was tender, well-merinated, and paired well together with the sides. The bossam was amazing! The best we've tasted. We all loved the perilla seed kalguksu due to its taste and also bc it's so healthy for you. The owner came by to check how we liked the galbi kalguksu since it was a newly created dish and we told her that it was delicious, seasoned just right. Before the meal, as they brought out the side dishes, they brought out barley rice with denjang on top to mix with yeol-moo kimchi. That was a special touch. We absolutely loved the food there. I saved the info so that we can return when we visit Koreatown again in the near future. Highly recommend this place to anyone who craves exceptional Korean food.

I really wanted authentic Korean food that was not kbbq and not tofu and this place delivered! This restaurant is in a small strip mall. The strip mall has other Korean food options. They have a valet parking system of sorts but we didn't pay, we self parked. The attendant told us we were fine. It was approx 9pm when we arrived and also a week night. I have no idea how much valet parking is here. We were a small party of two. Upon arrival, we were notified they were out of RICE. Um..what?? That's a good problem (for them to have) but not for consumers. I feel this really limited our options to just soup. I honestly didn't want soup but there wasn't much else we could order. The bowls were large and came out piping hot. It was a satisfying meal and not too heavy. The price point was on the pricey side. Our waiter told us business has not been the same post covid. Some dishes are between $40-$60. I asked for a soup and they were able to make it less spicy. My friend got a soup with dumplings in it. He put a good amount of soy sauce to give the broth some life. Also, the banchan is on point. We asked for a refill and devoured the second portions. If you wanna impress friends with Korean food, bring them here! Its a casual place.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
