Tony & Quinton came to my house in Stone Mountain; the company had to reschedule once because of snow/weather but they were on time, professional, friendly and provided me with a great education. We moved into the house 2 1/2 yrs ago, never used the fireplace and wanted an inspection/cleaning. They found 3 very different issues: interior of chimney needed coating, exterior of chimney needed repair and downstairs where they checked the gas line for the fireplace, they found other issues (including something not hooked up to code, with potential carbon monoxide issues.) They gave me written quotes (same day) on all 3 jobs and then a reduced quote if they did the work at the same time. The next day I had a roofing company (Roof Depot) come out to give me an estimate to replace my roof and I mentioned that Chimney Solutions had been out the day before and confirmed the bad shape my roof was in...and that Tech raved about great/reputable Chimney Solutions was and how much work they do together. I plan to have Chimney Solutions do 2 of the 3 jobs in March and then come back later for the 3rd (have to break it up due to the cost). Very helpful that Tony used to work in heating/air and gave me the great education on my gas line issues downstairs. I set up an appointment for a chimney sweep/cleaning a week or so ago, based upon a coupon I received in the mail. I signed up and had them here today. Michael Walker was my technician, and I could not have been happier with his customer service and knowledge about chimneys. Before Mike even started, he came to the door and handed me his card to show me where he was from (along with the truck with the name on it), which is very helpful for a woman who is home alone at this point. Mike then asked if I'd prefer him to run the hose from the front or back door, but more importantly, when he knew there were cats and a dog in the house, he asked if ok to leave the door open a crack or not...Wow! How many folks are worried about the animals. He cleaned the inside of the chimney, as well as checked the outside. He provided me with info specific to my house and what may be needed in the near future around the chimney. I also shared some things about a previous situation with the outside of my chimney, at which Mike shared the very many services offered by Chimney Solutions, of which I was not aware. Good to know for the future. He left my house just as clean as it was beforehand, which is ALWAYS appreciated. If it were not for the coupon, I would not have gone to Chimney Solutions. OUTSTANDING WORK! Recently my 93 year old mother had some major work performed on her fireplace. With her age; she was unable to open and close the new damper due to several issues. She called the company and asked if someone could come back out to make the damper open and close a little easier for her. The President of the company (Christian) came out and explained in detail how the new damper works and why it's so difficult to move because of the strong suction. He was very thoughtful, polite and patient in helping my mother understand the new system that had been installed. He made some adjustments and now it will be easier for her to enjoy her fireplace. She loved how clean he kept her home with his drop cloths, special shoe covers and cleanup after all the work was performed. My mother felt he was honest, respectful and sincere and did everything to make the situation perfect for her. The company he presents, the work ethic that he shared with my mother and his kindness went very far and my mother would never call another company to work on her fireplace but Chimney Solutions. I did quite a bit of research and reached out for recommendations on Nextdoor before choosing Chimney Solutions. I wasn't pleased to hear about the cost to come out and look at the chimney, but I'm glad I went ahead and did it. Charles came out and did a thorough assessment of the chimney, took plenty of pictures, and laid out the different options available to fix the problems. The cost of the job was not cheap. But neither was the workmanship and professionalism of the the teams that came out to do the job. Two teams came out of two different occasions to do part 1 and part 2 of the job. Both were stellar. In fact, when the second team came out to place the sealant and I explained my hesitancy that it was misty and I'd prefer it done on a day that was bone dry, they came out another day. And they were pleasant and understanding about it! Our chimney had two tree saplings growing in the grout and frankly, close up's of the chimney showed what looked like a lush Italian hillside. The chimney solutions team cleaned out the greenery, replaced the crumbling grout, replaced a few bricks, and placed a sealant over the whole thing. From their front office being incredibly patient with my rescheduling to Chip, the prompt and friendly technician, everything was top-notch. I hired Chimney Solutions to inspect and clean my chimney and clean my dryer vent. It turns out my fireplace has hardly been used during its 20 years of existence and thankfully didn't need any repairs. Chip explained what he did to clean and inspect and took the time to review fireplace safety with me. I also had my dryer vent blown out and he said there was enough gunk blown out to stuff two couch cushions! I clean and vacuum the lint trap regularly and my dryer and its hose are only 2 years old. All the lint and build-up was hiding in the hose between the dryer and the output. All of the 5-star reviews are spot on. Called to have both a Chimney cleaning and a Dryer Vent cleaning. The tech, Mike Walker, arrived on time. He was very polite. He listened attentively as I explained my various concerns (including listening to audio of some noises the chimney had been making) then set about his various tasks. He did a seemingly great job with the chimney and explained a number of things that he thought it would be good for me to know, as well as pointing out some future concerns. Regarding the dryer vent cleaning, when he was finished, I expressed some additional concerns that I had which he then went back & addressed. Very professional. On the down side (which has nothing to do with the service provided), I'm taken aback by the cost of these services. Really expensive. But, in that context and comparing other competitors, these folks definitely gave me the best deal. read more

Earlier this year I bought a condo in a 20-year old mid-rise building in Buckhead with a gas logs fireplace in it. Before closing on the purchase of the condo, a certified home inspector pronounced the fireplace to be in working order. Nonetheless, based on the age of the fireplace and the ages old muck on the inside of the glass, I called Chimney Solutions to schedule an inspection by a "real" fireplace professional. Today the fireplace was inspected by Jon Boswell who arrived exactly on time, walked me through the in's and out's of my gas logs fireplace, and also cleaned up the glass screen. Great company, and very reasonably priced. We had get get an inspection for a real estate transaction, and I called about 5 other companies. 3 didnt answer, one said they didnt service my area, and one had a voicemail message saying to email them. I did, then called Chimney Solutions. Chimney Solutions answered right away, the lady was pleasant, and I was able to get scheduled right away. The other company emailed me back about 30 minutes later and their quote was about $100 more than chimney solutions for the same thing. The day before, I got an email confirmation and a phone call saying who my technician would be. Day of he was there exactly on time and was pleasant and efficient. Experts in gas log repair. Specially trained and certified technician Charles quickly diagnosed our issue and tried to save us money by cleaning the malfunctioning part. When that didn't work, we agreed we needed the new part and he came out ON HIS DAY OFF to replace the part needed the next day without us even asking him to do so. The next day, he arrived on time with a smile on his face and installed the new part and made sure we understood what he did. He then called me the next day to make sure the repair held, which it had. Charles even made friends with our protective little dog. We recently purchased a home and wanted to have the chimneys cleaned prior to using them ourselves. I scheduled an appt with Chimney Solutions and they were readily available to provide service. On the morning of the appointment, we received a call that they could arrive sooner if we were available, so we moved the appt up. Quinton arrived and promptly got to work cleaning the fireplace. He also advised of a few gaps around the gas line and offered to fill those. Chimney Solutions did extensive repairs to our chimney on August 28, 2013: demolished old firebox and installed new firebricks, removed old damper and installed new damper, water proofed the outside chimney. They will be installing a chimney cap in a few day. Their team (Chip, Paul, John and Quentin) arrived promptly, worked very professionally and at the end of the day, they left the room even cleaner than it was before. Had them do some work on the exterior. The trim that was replacing the rotted wood was hardie trim. There was a miscommunication and the hardie trim was 1/2 as thick as the wood coming off and did not match the rest of the house (size wise). They took immediate action and presented me with 4 different options to solve the issue. They came back at no additional charge and completed the work per the option we chose. End result was perfect.
