China 1 (formerly named the Red Lion) moved into another space (former Pizza Place) two doors down between Subway in the same strip plaza. The atmosphere is a typical order at the counter strip plaza eatery with an open kitchen. My buddy and I have ordered Chinese takeout here on several occasions. The Chinese food here is pretty good including the sesame chicken, shrimp lo mein, and BBQ spareribs. They offer 32 Lunch Specials ($4.25-$4.75) which are served Mon-Sat (11AM-3PM) come with pork fried rice and choice of soup, egg roll, spring roll, or can of soda. The lunch portions are generous for the money. The Special Combination Platters ($6.15-$6.95) served with rice and egg roll also a good deal too. For starters, this is delivery Chinese. It's not a fine dining restaurant so please ignore the food critics on here. I am extremely impressed with the online ordering. It's by far the best online ordering I've ever used which is nice since it can be difficult understanding someone on the other end when calling in if you get my drift. The order confirmation said to give them 55 minutes and they were here in 20 minutes on a Saturday night. Once again, impressed. I ordered Sesame Chicken, Orange Beef, House Lo Mein, and deep fried Potstickers. They threw in a free order of Crab Rangoon I suppose since it was my first time ordering from them. Definitely a nice touch. My 1 year old inhaled the Lo Mein and I found it pretty good. Sesame Chicken was typical Sesame Chicken but more tender which I like. Orange Beef was just weird. Weird taste, weird texture.. Potstickers were okay, I've had better. Crab Rangoon was good. I will probably order from there again but would like to try a couple others out in the area first. A few nights ago, my friend Danielle and I were in the mood for Chinese so i bought her dinner. I'm not a huge fan of Chinese food because it is usually prepared really greasy, I really just prefer Thai or Vietnamese food...But I got a "large" order of broccoli and tofu which was just steamed with a healthy "fruit sauce" and it was a fucking HUGE order. I think Ive gotten about 3 dinners out of the carton and there is still more than half of it left. How ever, it gets only three stars because its just standard Chinese delivery. I went back and tried a few of their main dishes like the chicken lo mein and general tso's chicken and was let down.

This is a take out/delivery operation not an eat in restaurant, so stop complaining and artificially lowering the score for a dining in experience they don't have or proport to have. They have good take out. The staff are friendly. They remember you. For instance we ordered from my Mothers house across from mine but they still went to my address! We just wave them over and everything was fine but it was nice to know that they remember us, that we're not just a random order to them. Food is good quality and nearly identical to every other Chinese take out as they all are. Very important to note. My wife has many food allergies. One of which is to MSG. We had to leave more than a few restaurants because even though they say NO MSG emblazoned on the menu, after 2 bites my wife would suddenly go into anaphylaxis and be unable to breathe. So far the China One Has been great and we hope it stays that way. Very few wrong orders or missing items though it does happen but that happens at every restaurant from time to time, and it's not a habit here so good job and thanks for great food during these difficult times. There lucky I give them 1 star i wish we had a option for 0 stars ! so i ordered my food on beyondmenu.com from this place when I was still at work, I requested for them to deliver my dinner, at 5:50 Instead He decides to come at 5:15pm on his own, and i wasn't even home yet so I called him back up on his cell phone cursed him out ... I said I wasn't home yet , I was at work , and i got stuck in traffic, ( but i used the F word a few times) he deserved it !!!! and i also said I didn't appreciate you leaving my screen door wide open just cancel my order and i hung up on him. the delivery guy is very rude and disrespectful ! I will never order from there again, they just lost a good customer .. then he asked me a? saying, you weren't home? I'm like if i was home, i would answer my door , common sense ! Worst food ever! Not just the worst Chinese food, not just the worst delivery, but the WORST FOOD ever! Inedible, old, cold and watered down. Ordered online and it took over an hour and 40 minutes to get the food. We called twice and were hung up on by the woman answering the phone! This restaurant was recommended to me by my cousin who is from Troy when we moved to Cohoes. She said be sure to get the General Tso' chicken, boneless spare ribs, chicken broccoli and sweet sour chicken. So we did. Needless to say, we totally enjoyed the experience.
