The food and coffee were good, but look out for unannounced price changes and be aware that if they ask you if you want something, there's likely an additional charge for it (and they may not mention it). 1) They asked if I wanted cheese on my gyro but didn't tell me there was an extra $1 charge. 2) They didn't tell me there was an extra 75 cent charge for half and half in my coffee. 3) They read back a medium Americano but charged me for a large. 4) The prices did not match the printed menu or the signboard. The menu said $8.50 for the gyro; it rang up as $8.99. The signboard read $4.50 for a large Americano and rang up as $5.25 (the medium was $4.15 on the signboard). I tried bringing it up, but the manager pointed out a small notice at the top of the menu (that isn't on their signboard) that "All prices may vary". He tried to explain away the charge for half and half as being a "milk alternative". He was argumentative to the point where I no longer wanted him to give me anything (and, to his credit, he did offer to refund the difference), and I walked out. Then my wife tried to smooth things over and he argued with her. I will not return, which is a shame as it's a nice place with good coffee and food (the only reason I didn't give a one star rating). I don't want to go somewhere, though, where I have to read the fine print, where I can't trust what's being rung up without asking to see the screen. Stopped by Grayson Coffee House while I was in the area for an afternoon pick me up. The cafe is housed in one of Grayson's historic homes. I love that they've kept the charm of the home both inside and out. Plenty of parking behind the cafe and even has a drive-thru option. I was greeted immediately upon entering. Their menu offers coffee, tea, snacks, sandwiches and more. I just wanted coffee at the time and decided on their salted turtle with oat milk. I believe the salted turtle was a mix of chocolate, white chocolate, and caramel. What a combo, right?? It was plenty sweet but surprisingly not overly sweet. They serve Jittery Joe's which is a chain of coffeehouses based in Athens, Georgia. Strong and delicious! The staff was absolutely wonderful. It took me a while to decide on a flavor because they had a lot of fun flavors to choose from, and the team was patient with me. Our short interaction while they were making my drink was memorable and pleasant. Highly recommend GCH! read more

I want to love this place so badly, it's the only local coffee shop in town. I've given it three chances and I'm feeling really disheartened. The decor is adorable, the location is great, and the staff are lovely. I have no qualms with the service or ambiance! My dislike is with the coffee. I am a lactose intolerant latte person. I've tried three there so far: vanilla latte with oat milk, pumpkin spice latte with oat milk, and the toffee nut latte with soy milk. At first I wondered if I didn't like my latte because of the oat milk. But the first drink I had, the pumpkin spice, didn't taste like anything except the espresso and oat milk (which tasted like saw dust). I tried again, a different flavor, thinking maybe the staff accidentally used the sugar free syrup and that's why I couldn't taste the flavoring. The vanilla latte with oat milk was better, but again it was pretty flavorless and the milk tasted like saw dust. Finally I went today and got the toffee nut with soy milk. This tasted significantly less like saw dust, but there was no toffee flavor. Only milk and espresso. I think that for many people, this type of latte is what they'd enjoy. For me, I really appreciate a flavored latte with BOLD flavors, especially because the flavoring itself costs extra. I REALLY want to love this place, so maybe if I go again I'll order double the amount of flavoring in the coffee. In conclusion, I hated their choice in oat milk. I think the soy is much better. If I go again, I'll need to ask for double the amount of flavoring. And for a $6.89 cup of coffee, I think it may not be worth it. I do not want to go to a big chain, I want to support this adorable, wonderfully decorated local business. Maybe I'll give it another shot... read more

Unfortunately I had to update my review. This used to be a dependable place to come to with fast service. Their drive through is up and running, however, it takes 30 minutes to get a toasted bagel when there are 3 people working. I sat in the drive looking at one person just wiping down little things when she could have stepped in and helped. Then the main person who was making the order, is serving people fork and knives with napkins when that is all self serve. All this walking slowly around like if no one at the drive through is waiting. If you have a big order, it takes nothing but a couple of seconds to pop a bagel in a toaster while the other order is already being worked. It's food prep basics! When I pulled up to that spot, I thought it was somebody's crib lol. When finally coming in, two sweet chocolate young lady's greeted me. They showed me the menu and ask what I was looking for. I'm an old soul and like my coffee how I like my women, so I asked for a black cold brew with an extra shot. Came up to 6 bones which I decent bc Starbucks would charge you like 10 bones with their overprice ass smh. My coffee was ready in about 1 minute and brought it to me. My only complaint is that a had that, I had my coffee inside to read my book but it was cold af in the joint. So if you come here make sure you come layered up In some clothes or bring a space heater. The aesthetic cool and was quiet. Pretty chill spot for a mom and pops coffee spot. read more

The service is super friendly too. They also have a drive thru! While visiting my sister who chose to live OTP (Walton County :-(( ) much to my chagrin, my fiance and I needed a coffee shop to work. Grayson coffee perfectly met our needs. Plenty of tables both inside and outside. Lots of outlets for computers. They even have a microwave! This makes it easy to reheat coffee or a lunch if youre brown-bagging it. Being OTP, I was worried they wouldn't have plant based milk options, but they have 3!!! Almond, soy and coconut milk! They serve breakfast all day which is cool. They have Breakfast sandwiches, bagels, egg wraps, muffins, etc. They have lunch options too - salads and sandwiches. The only good vegetarian lunch options are the avocado egg salad and the hummus platter. Better than nothing! Staff ARE wearing masks! That was such a relief. We want to support local businesses but the ones not requiring masks are too risky. When the staff is wearing masks, it makes us feel more comfortable dining in. This is no Starbucks but that can be and is in my opinion a good thing! Grayson Coffee House reminds me of quaint California coffee houses. Nothing fancy but laid back and cozy. It's the kind of place you can sit and read your favorite book, meet with friends and/or complete business or school work. I loved it! I've driven past here many times and am glad to have had the opportunity to finally stop. I scheduled a business meeting here in the meeting room .... had a delicious macchiato and an excellent blue berry scone ... yum! Alex was our barista on this particular day. Long time area resident and today was my first time to visit. I was meeting a friend to discuss a project and boy was I pleasantly surprised at this local coffee house. The owners have done an awesone job of creating a very welcoming vibe. The coffee selections are ample and the prices are very reasonable. The staff was engaging and super nice. My only beef is not aimed at the staff or coffee house but the fellow customers. They seemed to like their tables and a few of the singles were camped out on tables for larger groups. While I was looking for a spot for me and my friend, I got a couple of looks that telegraphed for me that I was not welcomed at thier table and to look elsewhere to sit. Alrighty so after driving by this cafe multiple times and meeting the owner I finally made it in to have a bite to eat. I went for breakfast today and I regret not coming in sooner. I had their bacon, egg, no cheese croissant sandwich with a hash brown and a mango smoothie. It was super flavorful and delicious. It left me wanting more.
