We made our second visit to Dante's and were well pleased with the lunch. We both had slices of the New York style pizzas for lunch (one meat lovers, one supreme... I found that I liked the New York style slice much more than the Detroit style I had on the prior visit. The slices are gigantic and very tasty. One slice makes for an ample lunch. The server was very attentive and made sure we were satisfied with our meal. The venue is tastefully decorated and we enjoyed the background music from our era (the 70s) as we ate. The Railyard in Grayson has new pizza restaurant called Dante's Pizzeria & Trattoria in the old Sam's on Main location. Dante's is currently in a soft opening mode and we decided to check it out. We first thought they were only serving slices as they ramp up but when taking our order they said full pies were available so we went with the thin and crispy Grandma Pepperoni and boy ole boy was it awesome. The lighting added a little flair to the photos but you can see the quality ingredients and the crispy corners were exactly what I had hoped for. As we have all come to know, restaurants deserve our grace and understanding when opening and my hope is Dante's continues to deliver as they did tonight. read more

Arrived at 6:00 with party of 4. Was told a 1/2 hour wait. I went up to check time about 20 min from arrival. 2 people were signing in to get a table, they were told 1/2 hour wait. Went back up at 45 min in, now the 2 people behind us were seated at a 6 person table. We waited 10 more mins, went up again, they knew we were not happy (even though we were sitting at the bar and bartender was very nice). Finally get seated. Ordered 4 orders of meatballs (other things also) Waited 1/2 hour for orders to come. (All orders came out at 5 min interval. ALL were burnt!!! The sauce was great- but the meatballs and bread almost inedible. Waitress didn't know, we weren't going to send it back and wait longer. I remember that I was at Dante's about a year ago, same thing- long wait for food, and some items were way over cooked. Now we know better. read more

We've tried Dante's only once and ordered their pizza. It was good, though very few toppings for the price. The pizza was placed directly on the table rather than a stand, so the crust was in contact with the table covering. I know that can be a problem for some, though not a huge deal for us. This was our first visit to this establishment, we ordered the most popular pizza, Grandma Pizza. While the pizza had potential to be acceptable, it was excessively oily and greasy, making it difficult to hold like a typical slice without having our hands covered in oil. We were forced to use a knife and fork to eat it. Our wife was shocked that the pizza cost $41. We went to the bar to seek service since there was no one at the receptionist booth. The server that did help us displayed a poor attitude, acting as if we were inconveniencing her. She did not smile, greet us warmly, or create a welcoming atmosphere. The owner needs to invest in training this staff member to improve their professionalism, as their lack of it will likely cause customers to leave. The restaurant was in the former Sam's on Main Street, which is a suitable location for a pizza joint. However, we ordered online, so we did not have the opportunity to experience the full ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant. Since we live in Grayson and are pizza enthusiasts, we may try a different crust in the future. We hope that the restaurant will have a different receptionist by then. However, we cannot recommend this place in good conscience based on our first experience. If we try again, we will update our review, whether it is positive or negative. read more

Wish there was a smaller size option for the pizza rather than the 16 inch one that is available for what we want. We got to try Dante's on their last soft opening day. Everything was fantastic. We got the NY style with pepperoni and a Grandmas with sausage and onions. By far the best pizza in Grayson/Loganville. It's really wonderful to have a non-chain pizza restaurant in our little town. We are going back tonight to try more of the menu. If they can keep up the quality, I don't know why you would go anywhere else for pizza around here. Prices were very reasonable as well. read more

We ordered the meatball pizza which was delicious and quite spicy. The crust is very chewy and thin which I loved but my son would have preferred it to be a bit more crispy. We both agreed they needed more bling on their walls to make it more personable of a bar but I imagine they will get there. I definitely enjoyed the pizza and the two pieces I took home. I also appreciated that they weren't playing music too loud to talk through the meal like many places are there days. The service was attentive and our server was helpful with suggestions. We also tried the garlic parmesan wings which were extremely garlicky, so much so that you wanted to dip them in marinara which we asked for and did. I think I would try another flavor next time but they were very meaty and perfectly cooked. All in all it was a good meal for me and my son and we enjoyed it thoroughly. I hope they add some more personal style to their decor as it's pretty generic right now. I went to Dante's last night. While the food was okay at best, the service was the complete opposite! My server, Adrianna or something to that effect, was inattentive, forgetful, and was more concerned with talking to her friends outside than servicing customers. I ordered water, a drink and food. I waited for a while and had to remind her of my water. When I was ready to check out I asked her for the bill and waited even more, just to look at the bar and see her dancing and goofing off! We ordered a grandma style pizza to go. The sauce and crust were delicious. We added pepperoni and eggplant to the fresh mozzarella and basil that comes standard on this pizza. The eggplant was breaded and fried and was delicious. The restaurant is at the old Sam's on Main location and is a very comfortable restaurant. The staff were very helpful with taking our order.
