I came near the end of the night and got the sweet & sour chicken meal. It was ok, but the oil tasted a little burned. This is a standard Chinese place, and the only one in the area, so if that's what you want, it'll suffice, but it's just average. It was done very fast however, and they were nice. Indoor dining is closed so it's takeout only. There was a young girl on her phone laughing explosively at whatever Instagram video she was watching, and I couldn't decide if her laugh was annoying me, or just funny itself. Spring rolls and Kung Bao Chicken were delicious choices. Ordered the chicken dish mild and it came with a variety of vegetables. Will definitely order this again. Unremarkable food, but decent enough that we ordered from here every time we were in town. This last visit was really frustrating though, and due to extremely poor customer service, we won't be coming back. Ordered veggie egg rolls that were very dry, and the rest of my food was totally inedible because of a mistake made in their kitchen. I had made a special request and explained what we wanted at least three times. The woman on the phone repeated it back to me and verbally indicated that she understood what I was asking for. When I got the food home, it was apparent that they goofed. No big deal - called to ask them to remake my food correctly. The owner got on the phone and was really rude and wouldn't let me speak without interrupting me. He said it was my fault for ordering something confusing and said he would remake the normal menu item, but would not customize it for our dietary needs. I asked for a refund; he refused. I said I'd have my credit card company reverse the charges, and he encouraged me to go that route. Clearly he cares not for providing good customer service. We won't be back. read more

We tried China Cafe based on reviews. We ordered sweet/sour chicken and cashew chicken, egg rolls, rice, crab rangoons, and a fortune cookie. The rangoons were pretty tasty. The rest was a disappointment. There was a strong oily taste to everything that overshadowed expected flavors. read more

The egg roles and crab rangoon were good, the pot stickers and curry main dishes were really bad. The pot stickers were the size of a grown man's fist, and tasted similar. The curry entrés were loaded with cheap vegetables water chestnut, bamboo shoots and so many green peppers. China Cafe skimped on the protein (chicken and shrimp) and I thought the shrimp were under cooked. Also, the curry dishes lacked any curry flavor. The restaurant is now only serving carry-out customers, no dining in...perhaps for a reason. It is good to see that others are catching on to the fact that this is simply bad food. Also do your homework, look at the reviews, only two 2018 reviews and both reviewers gave them only 1 star. All of the positive reviews are several years old. Just a little bit wacky. But the lunch specials were outstanding. Really easy to get to from the highway. And a great price for lunch. They seem to have a fairly good crowd for lunch. The food taste "off" the flavors are lacking and stale. Dry rice and smells bad. I have had a lot of delicious Chinese food in my life growing up on the east coast and this place is by far the worst I have ever had. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone my mother ate there she has a receipt and the manager Raymon Lewis answer the phone as my mom was being rushed to the emergency one because something was in her throat cutting it and it was inside of his food he told my mother that he could not and did not have time to talk to her about her having something to cutting into her throat so she went into surgery she's out now but my mother 60 years old definitely do not recommend for anybody customer service is horrible in the manager Raymond tells people when they're on their way to the emergency room he doesn't have time to talk to themBut he does say he has insurance so of course will be calling lawyer read more

Food was excellent, full of flavor! I had the orange chicken:) Hosted was polite and order was out to me within 7 minutes for take out, so that was fantastic. Only complaint would be the average portion, only 6 pieces of chicken. For $5 would of been perfect yet for $6.59 was not a great "lunch special" Looking forward to trying other dishes in the future as I will return for dinner, yet will keep with the $5 lunch specials around town. Really dirty inside. The carpet looks like someone sharted and smeared a trail throughout the whole place. I ordered take out and there was a bullshit $1.45 charge for "ZR". The wait was very long for the sesame chicken and fried rice. The food wasn't anything special and was overpriced. Had takeout recently after an absence of many years. Had read some of the negative reviews, but we thought, how bad could it be? Answer: Bad...REALLY bad. Watery egg drop soup with very little egg in -- not even our cats would eat it when we offered it to them. Hot and sour soup with no sour flavor at all (?!) -- just a very oily broth. Pot stickers filled with over-processed filling that was like mush. We had asked for steamed, got fried -- big, doughy blobs. Spring rolls were filled with another over-processed mush that was not recognizable as ever having been grown in a garden. If one dish had been bad and the others even acceptable would not have bothered to write a negative review, but when everything is inedible, you have to give people fair warning. It's too bad, years ago it was pretty good. How is it possible to get Chinese food this bad? The hostess was a nice local girl and the food was ready for pick up as scheduled. read more

They have a great lunch deals! This place is a great little find for the area as Chinese food is always hit or miss. This place isn't perfect but the food is pretty good and the staff is friendly. The woman that runs the place is very nice and understanding. I've never had a negative run in at this place. I highly recommend any of their spicy dishes just don't ask for extra spicy as the regular spice is usually more than adequate. read more

Love this place! The best Chinese food around. We moved away several years ago but always eat here once or twice every time we're in town. They're friend rice is the best I've ever had and Wayland always makes gluten free fried rice for my son. Have never had a bad meal from here. read more
