Gotta be a little tongue-in-cheek here with these other reviewers... I glad I didn't listen to them! Listen. If you go to a Chinese buffet to be waited on attentively, you've got the wrong set of expectations. Give me my water, leave me alone, and don't look at me while I stuff my face. Just ensure that fresh dishes keep coming. In that sense, this buffet was more than adequate. I support family owned places like this. I took my brother-in-law, and my kids. My kids are picky, but they found something to fill up on. Will you feel like crap after? Maybe... but you went to a BUFFET! Come on. Think about it. Aren't you supposed to at least feel like you ate more than you should've? Come for the right reasons, and you won't be disappointed. Five stars to counteract the negative reviews. Real rating: 4 stars. The food was great, but too much pandering to the Midwestern palate. Make sure you try the chicken skewers. This Chinese buffet contains very good food with delicious taste. Clean and high quality. The food taste more of authentic Chinese food than Americanized one. The restaurant is very clean as well. The coustomer service was pleasent. Smiling faces. Although it is a Chinese food restaurant, but There are all kinds of food served in their buffet. There is steak , seafood, donuts, mac and cheese, puddin, ice cream, fruit, stuffed mushrooms, different kinds of chicken dishes. In addition to all that, Prices were affordable. This place does not look like Much but we had a great lunch there. Lots of variety. Clean. Homemade items. Loved the stuffed shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, peanut chicken, and crab rangoon. Chinese buffets are hit or miss, this one is a miss. When you enter there is some people at the closest booth to greet you. Not at the host stand nearby. The place smells like wet chicken from the poultry farm. The host ask your drink and you're pretty much left to fend. Which is expected of a buffet restaurant. Expect to fend against unsanitary people grabbing the food and not caring about others diligence. The selection was great but limited and not labeled correctly. The host did ask me not to post pictures as apparently they gotten much bad press. This place could use a good upgrade and sanitation review. The bathrooms was horrid, makes me wonder about their kitchen. read more

I'll be honest seeing reviews on this place put me very un easy with coming here, but to my surprise it was really good! The food was either hit or miss but still enjoyable. The chefs from the back were on top of re stocking the dishes and items from the bar. Price was a little more expensive since I came here last in 2019, $14.95 for full access to the bar! read more

If I could do a -1 that would be too high. This was quite possibly the worst buffet I've ever been to. Food was cold and sub par. Chicken wings were not done, rangoons had no flavor and an off taste, stuffed mushrooms were terrible, Mac & Cheese was cold & runny (how do you screw up Mac & cheese?), Green beans were just ok. The sweet and sour sauce was so watered down there was no taste and light pink. The egg drop soup was orange. Absolutely terrible. The place itself seemed clean but run down. You remember the story of the moth drawn to the flame. Well, this moth has an insane theory that maybe a place will be better if I try it again after a few years. What could be wrong? Lots of choices to try; some of them have to be good. WRONG AGAIN, LITTLE MOTH!!! A cute little girl, I assume a daughter of one of the employees, was running around the dining room, playing and having fun. I noted torn booths before I sat down. There are three buffet stations; the items have a sign overhead, written in Cantonese (I guess) but nothing in English. Weird. What are those little fried things??? Food was overall below average. I have been to too many China Buffets to count, from Los Angeles to Chicago and beyond. I visited my sister in South Haven this past week (1st week, November 2011) and while at the Dollar Store, spied this China Buffet. We decided to take a chance and have a little lunch. The decor is clean and inviting. The staff is very friendly. The selection was quite good - much like other China Buffets. Every dish that we both ate we really enjoyed and the food was fresh and hot. The Hot and Sour soup was really some of the best I've ever had. The stuffed mushrooms were awesome. The many chicken dishes were delightful. The chicken egg roll was one of my favorites; it was a larger version and lightly breaded. Really, for the price, this place is a true bargain. The lunch is around $7 and the $8.95 dinner is a great price, too. If you want some great Chinese food in this area, check this place out. I don't know what happened on the day the other reviewer was there, but we thought it was really good and plan to return. As China Buffets go, this place, to me, was simply outstanding. My sister liked it so much that she said she will be back and will also order take-out from them! I can definitely see myself going back when I'm in the area. read more

On our way to Detroit from Chicago, we were looking for Chinese food and found China Buffet. The review was not that great - two and a half stars. We hesitated but decided to take a look before sitting down. With lots of dishes, fruit and desert, we decided to give it a try. It turned out to be a great lunch. The food, of course, cannot be compared to authentic Chinese restaurants in big cities, but it has so many varieties. The taste is not bad, too. Plus the lunch is only $7.49. Solid Two Star Place. The food was pretty blandish and also extremely unhealthy. Also every thing seemed to taste a little bit off. The interior was old and only semi cleanish. if I COULD GIVE A LESSER RATING I WOULD! Arrived at approx. 2 hrs. BEFORE closing and the food was almost gone. What was remaining was dried to the bottom of the pans. I requested that the food be replenished and was greeted with a smile and that was it. I ate what was there but not what I wanted. Over 30 minutes later, still no fresh food. As I went to pay the check I was asked if everything was alright, I said no and proceeded to tell the manager why. She looked at me and angrily said; "we don't want to waste food, we are closing soon!" I reminded her that there was still over 1.5 hours left and there she was at 3/4 capacity of customers. I told her that EVERY CUSTOMER who is charged FULL price should expect to have the EXACT SAME experience and food choices as the FIRST customer for the entire time the restaurant was open! Since we are locals, we have eaten lunch here a few times. The food, although mediocre, has been for the most part warm and refilled. Our daughter and 3 grandchildren we with us this evening. Most of the food was inedible since it was cold and stale. The shrimp coating was gelatinous and other breadings set hard. The gravy for the egg foo yung had a congealed. Waitress came back once and we told her the food was cold. She replied, I"ll let them know." No apology, no offer to make it right - nothing! The restaurant was more unkept than usual with booths piled atop one another and a table across from us littered with things one of the employees was using to entertain a child. My daughter spoke with the manager before she paid the bill and asked for an adjustment since the food was so bad. He told her they hadn't been busy today and the food had been sitting. He did take off 15% but the bill was still over $50 for three adults, a child and a baby. I hope none of us get sick tonight from eating food that was standing since lunch. To add insult to injury, The two year old wanted a ball from the machine when we left. Put the quarter in the machine, machine kept the quarter - no ball. When I asked the cashier (our waitress) if she could make this right or give me another quarter, she looked at me and shrugged her shoulders. Needless to say, this is the last time we will go there.
