Egg Foo Young Thick and crispy
    Christopher R.

I don't get these low scores. We loved it. The Egg Foo Young was the best we've ever had. The Happy Family Sizzling Platter was sizzling and had a great flavor. The server was great as well. If you love wine, I imagine it would be a good place because of their display but I don't like wine so I can't tell you.

This place has a fine Chinese dining ambiance. The food looks and smells amazing. Though unlike Panda Express, it tastes pretty decent. However if you've tasted authentic Chinese food you've tasted better: but ti be fair I think seasoning with salt per your taste would remedy any taste issues for me, which I didn't do.

*THIS REVIEW IS SOLELY FOR EGG FOO YOUNG ONLY* Don't order anything else. The egg foo young is ELITE! It's perfectly seasoned with the perfect gravy to compliment it. When you think of egg foo young - this dish is it. It's a huge fried egg omelet, essentially, laced with veggies and whatever protein you chose. Then it's served with this luscious, most savory, & magical brown gravy. I want to know how to replicate this sauce so badly. If anyone knows, please message me! TIA. I am drooling as I write this review. Do yourself a favor, if you enjoy eating eggs, and order this dish ASAP!

Leftovers of family dinner for two - enough for another dinner!

We decided to use spring break to visit restaurants in our "new" neighborhood we hadn't had a chance to due to the pandemic. China City was one I was skeptical about - the reviews on here had me unsure what to expect. Upon entry they ambiance is beautiful and the restaurant is clean. We were greeted with waters and our waiter came shortly after. We opted for the family dinner for two and a pot of tea. Wonton soup was amazing. I usually find them flavorless but this was flavorful and delicious. The bbq pork was as bbq pork should be and the spring rolls were delicious as well. For our mains we had veggie fried rice, sweet and sour pork, and cashew chicken. No joke the cashew chicken was the best cashew chicken I have had in a long while. Plenty of veggies and the flavor was on point. The bbq pork was good as well and the veggie fried rice delightful. I have seen complaints regarding portions on here so after we were stuffed I took a photo. We are taking a lot of food home. This was a family meal for two. Check was $54 after tax. We also got fortune cookies that were really good, nice and thick. I have found my new Chinese place - and will be back really soon!

My girlfriend and I came here for a few birthdays - her mom, brother, and stepdad all have one in April! Made a reservation thru OpenTable for 6pm and were seated immediately. My girlfriend went with the wine room table for an extra $25. It's secluded and more intimate but I would skip it. We ordered the dinner combo #2 which came with egg rolls, potstickers, hot & sour soup, Mongolian beef, almond chicken, vegetable fried rice (we subbed chicken in for $2 more), mandarin shrimp, general ng's chicken, and veggie chow mein. This to me was a fantastic value and I definitely recommend doing the combo if you come in a big group. The food was all exquisite - the almond and general ng's were fluffy with good crunch and flavor. The potstickers and egg rolls were crispy. We ordered a few drinks and the total came out to $245 after tax/tip, roughly $40 per person if you omit the $25 wine room fee charge. The service is where they lose a star. It was ok, but it took a very long time to get drinks or even extra water. All in all I still recommend this place. The ambiance is nice and the food is excellent.

Food was ok but the biggest issue was the portion size to cost. We have ordered from them before and this time they had new packaging. Only bonus was the most tote bag and the food packaging was made of recycled material but portions were way too small for the $20 price they charged. It was hard not to be pissed off. $17-20 per main dish, rice NOT included. All entrees came is same 900ml/30oz containers

So called sesame chicken, kung pao beef, beef and broccoli. The chef needs a karate chop for this nasty a$$ food.

On Christmas day we we saw the big line of people ordering food and delivery drivers taking out out food, so figured it must be really good if so many people are ordering there( WRONG) ! Ordered king pao chicken, sesame chicken and beef with broccoli, plus fried rice. All 71 plus dollars of the food we bought was disgusting. It tasted nothing like Chinese food. It was flavorless, and super greasy, the grease must have been old and it made all your clothes smell like an old grease. They put giant chunks of vegetables and the food was swimming in water. Worst tasting Chinese food I've ever eaten (gross). Panda express tastes a million times better. Maybe they was cheapin out on ingredients because it was so packed with orders and they ran out of the ingredients that they usually use and just hacked together whatever they could find available or had cooks who didn't know how to cook Chinese food. Whatever the case, the Chinese food was horrible on Christmas Day. I plan on trying to get my 71 dollars back that I wasted on this place. I think people went here on Christmas just because nowhere else nearby was open. Now I have a stomach ach and I have to wash the old grease smell off my clothes.

I have been coming to this restaurant since I lived here in Mill Creek! So .. a very long time! I think they just got new ownership and I am loving the slight change and improvement in the menu! Their cashew chicken has always been my favorite and hasn't changed which is fine because I always liked it. But their Mongolian beef?! SO GOOD! Me and my mom are obsessed and always order the Mongolian beef for takeout. Their crispy fried chicken wings were also a big favorite. I order those to start with every time. The service has always been super friendly to me too and the restaurant ambience feels comfy and cozy but definitely still feels like you're eating at a restaurant. I always feel comfortable dining here.

Attentive service, delicious food, and great ambiance. Lighting was just right, open space - visibility to kitchen. We'll definitely be back!

Had lunch. The ambiance is good. But was ok. Bland taste for 4 star dish. Although accommodated Vegan options for my son in lunch menu.

In short Great deals on great drinks, food is really solid,…read moreand the setting is nice and friendly. Only drawback is that the hours are limited. In long Lately we've been seeking out places that are literally quieter--less volume on the music, more space between the tables, and so on. I'd been wanting to check out 5x5, anyway, since it's the only spot around with an exactly perfect rating score. It looked like it'd fit the bill for a low-key place, and off we went. We came in shortly after they opened on a Saturday (4:00 PM). You're in a larger business-traveler hotel here, aimed at Boeing and Boeing-sub folks traveling for work. The building looks kinda generic from outside, but there's plenty of parking, and the lobby has a high-ceilinged atrium vibe for sure. Nice floor tiles, nice carpet, tasteful furniture. Everything's in perfect shape. You don't feel the lounge vibe right away, but there's a gigantic fireplace ahead of you, warming both sides of the room from the middle. Around that, there are lots of sturdy, shiny tables under the lofty ceilings. Off to the side, there's a little lounge area, then another one. Everything in the lounge is bar-height seating, and there are a few flatscreens, probably showing the game. Most folks are in here, sitting around the bar in the middle of the room. We posted up at a table just outside the lounge. Lindsey was behind the bar, and cheerfully answered every single question we had about food and all their cocktails. She's super friendly and makes a great drink for sure. She seems to have a bunch of regulars who aren't staying at the hotel, which is a great sign, no doubt. We checked out the warm pretzel--such a decadent treat. The waffle fries (and especially the aioli that came with them) were awesome. The pizza was a great choice; we added pickled onions to the Speedway. The crust could be a little crisper but we took home what we didn't finish and it's great here, too. Service on food and drinks was really quick. The cocktails here can be really creative, and there are lots of classics with house twists on the recipe. They even have a pisco sour they've tweaked--that's a fair bit of work for a bartender to make mid-shift. We got 5 great drinks and 3 nice plates of food for $96, and I don't think we even ordered anything from the HH menu. This is a very easy place to add to the rotation.

It is part of the Staybridge Suite hotels here and this hotel in general, is always packed! We finally know why! The hotel inside is beautiful -- woodwork and a cozy ambience! The 5 x 5 bar & bistro is new. What it was before was an old theater. Matthew was a one-man show with two ladies helping him with carrying the done orders to the tables. It was actually quiet on a Wednesday when we had went. Only 3 tables occupied. We missed happy hour and settled on the regular menu. I had the chicken tenders (4-pc) with lemon pepper seasoning (oh my -- this was delicious!) along with sweet potato waffle fries. I also got the hummus plate -- fresh veggies and the hummus had feta cheese and olive oil too, yummy! My bf had the pepperoni pizza with cheddar cheese and topped with green onions. I had a taste of it and it was pretty good! My bf's mom had the fish burger with a side salad. Matthew was so kind and made a mental note of the orders. He even remembered my bf's mom saying 'no cheese' and he doubled checked with her after looking at the fish burger. Real nice guy and his service with the ladies was warm and delightful! They're forming an events room hall that will be done soon that used to be a pool area (so yes, no swimming pool anymore). They also have a nice patio area with long chairs and a nice mini bar/grills in the middle. I also had a limoncello cooler and my bf's mom has red wine too. We'd come back again!

The bruschetta was well balanced, the flavors dancing on our tongue. We also enjoyed a fun and delicious caesar salad, lightly dressed with one of the best homemade dressings I've ever had. Our entree's, like the previous two courses, were also very good! We enjoyed a Smoked Salmon Penne (special) and a Pasta Al Pomodoro. Both were served in the fun boat like bowls and the portions were generous. Again, very thoughtfully prepared, with locally sourced ingredients that tasted amazing! For dessert we shared a to die for Affogato, made with a high quality vanilla bean ice cream and Italian Espresso. We are already planning a return trip to enjoy of Chef Tracy's famous pizzas, made with dough she prepares daily. The last two times In a few years we've been there not so much. Our preferred table is an odd round booth tables right up against the fire at the kitchen and it's a bit like sitting at the chefs table in a nice restaurant . Typically served by the bartender when it's not really busy and fun to watch the kitchen and chill. We always seem to order one of the large plate combos and usually the "turf" option. The potato's are just soft, creamy, and plentiful. The bacon wrapped dates good. The chicken empanadas are fried nice but still moist inside and good with the harissa sauce and served with a great house salad for two. I don't eat lamb really ever but I do here. Really perfectly done little lamb chops on the bone but I'm only good for one. The beef skewer pretty good though a little tough. And the pineapple chicken wraps plentiful and spicy yet a bit too sweet but kind of addictive. The bartender was a great server and nice fellow but a bit busy otherwise with house drink prep. But we weren't in a hurry so it was fine. I see that there are some recent reviews about ownership change and that it is not the same as the beginning of this place. I can't disagree with that however it seems like the limited fixed menu combo board we always order has remained mostly the same and the reduced hectic volume of diners has made it more available to us as far drive dining option. It has of course become more expensive but not too much out of the norm. I'm not so sure that I would put on a large group meal here however.

HH review In short…read moreGreat design in a very welcoming space. Food might be under-seasoned to some people, but it's very well executed...and you can always add salsa. Great bar program, too. In long Previously, my biggest complaint with coming here was the total lack of parking every time I have tried. They obviously have no trouble getting the crowds in here. Today we scored some free time in the mid-afternoon, and their HH starts at 3:00 every day. We did go off the HH menu for 3 items, which ended up being worth it. You can't help but notice the buildout here. Pretty lights, interesting patterns or murals on almost every wall, lots of cool detail to the finishes everywhere you look. They even have yon selfie wall next to the washrooms (they took down a much bigger one). The bar has a couple flatscreens showing the game, but I'd probably not come here specifically to pay attention to a ballgame. At regular price, we got an awesome plate of chunky guac which I'd put against guac anywhere around here, at least that I've tried. At $15, it was almost a buck a bite, but, man, it was tasty. The bean dip had a great creamy consistency and mixed well with all the other condiments. We also got a muddled fruit cocktail from the regular menu, which was also excellent. The ceviche isn't a huge portion, and not overloaded with shrimp, but, hey, it's HH, and it's super fresh and tasty. The street tacos had awesome grilled flavor on the chicken, and the salsa served with them was fresh and excellent. We got 2 other salsas with our chips; the table salsa is nice but mild on the heat. The habanero salsa was a little too runny to get much on a plain chip, but it had great flavor and kick. Everything tasted really fresh and added plenty of seasoning to whatever was on the table. This is definitely a good place to mash up your salsas and dips and see what you concoct. The street corn was delicious. Such a perfect HH food--easy for the kitchen, but tons of flavor, and they nail the presentation. Corn tasted really sweet and crunchy even though you know they get it frozen. I'd get it again any time. For 3 apps, 2 dips, and 2 cocktails, we were under $90 before tip. Not too bad, especially since we went off the HH menu for stuff. This place is definitely in the rotation.
