I like this rating because it is the exact feeling that my husband and I had after our second dining experience at the China Dragon. The first time we ordered from here, which was a couple of weeks or so ago, we ordered the chicken fried rice and the chicken moo goo gia pan, and like many other folks have said, the food was O.K. It was nothing haute cuisine but it wasn't bad either. Tonight we ordered the chicken egg foo young and beef chop suey with egg rolls and homemade hot mustard. Again, we were not disappointed with the taste or quality of the food. In fact, my hubby just said, "be sure to tell them that the veggies are fresh and crisp, not all wet and soggy like other places," and "that's what I think about when I think about Chinese take out." My egg foo young was quite good, too!! quite filling and tasty, and one pancake is enough for one person, but because I'm feeling like a pig, I'm going back for seconds. Lastly are the egg rolls. Typical egg rolls, but the hot mustard was PERFECT!!! It was hot enough to slightly clear your sinuses, but not so hot that you choke involuntarily. Sitting here in the restaurant waiting for my order, first time here. They have a very small place and lots of lush plants. The swamp cooler, I'm sure, keeps them looking nice but the moldy mildew smell is off putting for someone who is hungry and never been here before. Not sure about the food yet. If you want Chinese delivery, this is the place. We have been ordering from them for 15 plus years. They know my name, address and my order. Of course every once in a while they might forget something or screw something up but they "always" take care of it. The food is always good and consistent. I appreciate that! Waited close to 2 hours for our food to be delivered. We kept calling to try and cancel the order after waiting so long and the woman who answered would only reply, "on the way, 5 minutes". Terrible service. About a year ago it was a very snowy night so I decided to order in. I had good (NOT great) experiences with China Dragon in the past so I gave it another go. 1.5 hours later...still no food. When I called to cancel the order, not only would the woman not cancel the order, but she insisted the driver would be there. He eventually showed up. Well....I decided to give it another try tonight. It's been over an hour...still no food. Clear skies, no bad weather to blame. I will never be ordering from China Dragon again. If you are in the Highlands/Sunnyside area, I recommend Pho 38. While they do not deliver, they are delicious and very fast. NO msg either. Every meal I have had has been made to order, by that I mean the cook pulls fresh broccoli out of the fridge for my beef and broccoli and always cooks it perfectly; still a crisp, and flavorful. The combo meals are inexpensive, available all the time and include an entree, fried rice, an egg roll and a crab cheese wanton; enough food for two meals. Their hot and sour soup is just spicy enough. Now... the decor is ugh and it always feels hectic in there so either opt for delivery (which is FAST), or call ahead on your way home from work, expect to wait just a little bit when you get there (cause they make most stuff fresh) and just smile at everyone behind the counter, it's worth it. read more

This Chinese restaurant is a family owned operation. You always see the same employees (family) there at all hours of operation. I give this place 4 stars, because for the N/W Denver area, the food here is very good and better than any other nearby Chinese place. Granted, it is not a 5 star super Chinese delight with all the bells and whistles, but it is very good authentic and affordable Chinese food made to order. The lady who answers the phone for delivery orders seems to always be rushed, but my order has never been wrong and delivery is very fast. The restaurant itself is small and tucked away in a strip mall off W. 38th Ave at Lipan St....kind of hard to find. My favorite from the menu is the Sesame Chicken. It's fast food - but the quality is consistent, and the Orange chicken better than I've had at any other Chinese restaurant - fast or not. when I check out, I watch the kitchen staff work - they always scrub out the woks and make sure they are clean, everyone seems to take pride in their work.
