After a morning of sightseeing, we decided on Pepper Asian Bistro for lunch. We were seated immediately, the service was friendly accommodating our large group. We got Potstickers and Chicken Satay to start. We liked both our appetizers, it was a great start to our meal. We then got Orange Chicken, Steamed Chicken with Vegetable w/ Garlic sauce, and Kung Pao Chicken. All our dishes were good, we enjoyed our meal a lot.

This is a great spot for Asian-American food. Every plate I've had has always hit the spot and been so delicious. I've never gotten her name, but there is one waitress here that is always infectious with her friendly demeanor, is prompt, helpful, and super accommodating. Every time I've gone, the restaurant is always clean and organized. I wish we could give half stars because this place is a 4.5 in reality, the price point just does not match the quantity/uniqueness of the food. No reason to skip this place though! A must try on Colfax!

Service is very good here. My green curry tofu was tasty but the sauce is way too heavy. My friend had a vegetarian Mongolian eggplant dish, it was good.

TRY THIS PLACE if you love Chinese, you will not regret it ! This was my Mothers Day dinner and we dined in. I absolutely loved the service we got from our waitress. She was very attentive, quick and was always there to get us refills. The food has such great flavor and comes out nice and hot! We ordered the hot and sour and egg drop soup which came out nice and hot with some green onions on top. Next, chicken fried rice, chicken lo mein and sesame chicken . Best lo mein I've had in a long time ! Fantastic rice and crispy sesame chicken. Everything was soooo good I didn't want to stop eating! Thank you all in the kitchen it was such a delicious Mothers Day meal! Will be returning very soon! I highly recommend this place!

Crispy Spring Roll, Sesame Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Fried Rice

I've ordered takeout from here a few times and each time I've really enjoyed my meal. Some of my favorites are the crispy spring rolls, sesame chicken, fried rice, and Mongolian beef. Good portions, quality tasting, served hot & quick delivery. I forgot to snag a good pic of all the items separately because when Chinese arrives and you're in a group - it's a free-for-all amiright??

My boyfriend and I come to this place every few weeks and it never disappoints. We tend to get the sesame chicken and orange chicken with fried rice. The fried rice isn't the best thing I've ever tasted but it does the job. I love the fried spring rolls, they're always sooo piping hot and yummy. The service is always nice and they've even given us a free order of dumpling before which is very kind. One time we ordered the drunken noodles, it was good but not our cup of tea as the noodles are very thick. But that's okay I just wouldn't get it again. Overall, my verdict is visit this place if you're in the area for some yummy Chinese food.

When I lived in New Hampshire they had "Asian restaurants" like this! And I am always skeptical of a place that serves Hakka, Thai, Japanese. Pepper Asian serves sort of generic gloppy Cantonese uninspired dishes. You can tell when the next day the sauces congeal. I really can't say any dish was particularly good and am somewhat surprised that Yelpers gave this place such high remarks...like maybe go to a city ( Shanghai, Beijing, San Fran LA, NY) and see what really Hakka/Cantonese Cuisine is like, Sorry.

    Calamari
    Sunu S.

Now this is a place that you should try. Rich in flavor and a hole in the wall that rears you kindly and gives you great portions. APPETIZERS: Okay the Calamari was just incredibly crispy and delicious. They give you this yellow sauce that im not sure what it is but it is soooo good. It's incredibly savory and rich that compliments the crispy Calamari. The crab cheese wontons are the best I've had in a while. These are full of crab cheese and the skin is so crispy it just brings everything together. The texture is smooth and tastes rich in cheese but not overwhelming. You need to get either one of these when you come here. THE ORANGE CHICKEN: Hey call me basic but this orange chicken is literally one of the best I've ever had. It's one of the first orange chickens where it actually has flavors of sweet and savory orange citrus. The skin is oh so crispy yet the chicken is so soft. It's like a chicken nugget but luxury. I loved this place, I will definitely be coming here again and will not miss it for a second.

The service was so quick and very friendly. I went with my vegetarian friend and they had lots of good options for both of us. Their pad sew Lew was really flavourful and the Buddhas feast was a great complement to the sesame chicken. The place had tons of tables and space for us even without a reservation.

Fantastic find! We arrived on a Friday night and were not disappointed at all. At first, the restaurant did seem a little unorganized as we were waiting by the door for a few minutes without being acknowledged, but once they sat us down, everything fell into place. Not only was the staff attentive, they were very quick to get us waters, menus, and get our orders out. We ordered 5 entrées to share, and we were not disappointed. The food was perfectly seasoned and was so flavorful. The spicy dishes had a kick, which was nice. We did try to not go too spicy as we were all sharing, but even the "hot" level did its thing! We've been talking about this place since we left, and can't wait to come back. Also, they were playing 2000's music which really made the ambience even better! Good food and great vibes!!

This place has steadily slipped, food orders are always perfect and on-time but food quality is enough to go elsewhere sadly.

Ask the Community - Pepper Asian Bistro

    Do they take Reservations?

Reservations are not required, at least I've never experienced it. They can be very busy Thursday-Sunday evenings. Calling ahead is a good idea, especially if its a larger group (more than 4).

    Do they have party trays?

Yes, you can order party trays. I did a year ago with the Potstickers and the Chicken Satay. Both were a hit, especially the Chicken. Love this eatery.

    What hours are they open?

Typically 10pm but website shows 9:30pm on Sunday. May be earlier when slow or holidays.

Are the portion sizes for lunch and dinner different or is it just the price?

    Yes, portion sizes are different.

Uchi is dangerous for people like me…read more Not because of the raw fish. Because the place understands seduction. I've been eating at Uchi since it opened in Denver and today it still carries that same intoxicating balance of precision, warmth, swagger, and restraint. The room itself glows instead of shouts. Wood slats divide the dining room into little private theaters while the sushi counter hums with focused choreography. Expert hands moving constantly. Rice. Fish. Quiet communication. Tiny acts of discipline repeated hundreds of times a night. I sat down intending to have a civilized happy hour. That plan lasted maybe twelve minutes. The kurodai crudo arrived first. Gooseberry, leche de tigre, candied garlic. Bright, sharp, and alive. This is the kind of starter that wakes up your entire palate and you are reminded that you will absolutely be spending more money than originally intended. Next was the bincho temaki: cool albacore, kimchi, avocado, and a vividly garish orange sauce with some heat to keep the richness from becoming too much. Uchi understands something many restaurants don't: luxuriousness needs balance. Fatty fish without acid, spice, crunch, or brightness is palate exhaustion. And then one after another the deliciousness continued: the oysters were cold and perfect with cucumber, calamansi vinegar, and umeboshi. The day boat scallop nigiri nearly stopped time altogether. Just sweet scallops, rice, citrus, a little finishing salt. Incréable. Or whatever the French word is for "I briefly forgot my own name." And somewhere during martini number one, the staff adopted me. Apparently Uchi keeps notes on guests. Mine, I was told, says I'm "nice and a good eater," which may be the most flattering thing anyone has said to me in months. Suddenly more dishes started appearing. Gifted nigiri. Ikura glowing like little amber jewels (my favorite). A ridiculous and completely delicious carrot toro maki with green chili crunch and enough heat underneath the richness to make the whole thing flirt openly with your mouth. At one point the bartenders literally invented a "walu walu shot" on the fly just because the mood had drifted into improvisational chaos. This was somewhere between oyster shooter, seafood dare, and excellent bad decisions. Meanwhile, the guests next to me started talking to me and the entire energy of the evening shifted into communal sushi-bar joy. Suddenly we were all reacting to dishes, laughing, comparing bites, participating in the same ecosystem of salt, fish, alcohol, and temporary human connection. This is the real thing Uchi sells. Not merely sushi. Attention. Rhythm. Atmosphere. Memory. The feeling of being folded into a beautifully functioning machine dedicated entirely to pleasure. And yes, by the end I was emotional enough to remember being 20 years old eating sushi with an older woman named Alana who wore real fur and introduced me to this whole sensual adult world in the first place. That is what a martini and exceptional nigiri will do to a man. The final bill before tip was somehow only $141, which honestly feels mathematically impossible considering I briefly entered a spiritual relationship with the sushi counter. I tipped $50 because at that point we were basically family. Uchi remains one of the sexiest restaurants in Denver. Not performatively sexy. Not influencer sexy. Actually sexy. Confident. Observant. Generous. Precise. And just dangerous enough to make you order one more thing. Amazing dining experience.
