We are new to town and have started the exhausting search for all of our go-to delivery spots, so this past week the craving for Chinese delivery hit and we ended up ordering China Dragon through UberEats. Delivery fee was a little painful, but when you have to use a third party app, that is expected. Food wise we went for a few classics. Sesame Chicken, House Lo Mein and Wonton Soup. The Sesame Chicken combination platter was served with fried rice and an egg roll. The chicken was a little tough and the sauce was too thick, plus the "fried rice" was more steamed yellow rice and frozen veggies...The House Lo Mein was ok. It is supposed to have a healthy mix of pork, beef, chicken and shrimp along with the lo mien and veggies, however there were about 5 shrimp, a few pieces of pork and a couple small pieces of chicken. I usually judge a Chinese spot off of their wonton soup, as it is an easy classic dish with very few parts...and while they passed on the broth (chicken instead of beef!), the noodles were gummy and the crispies seemed stale. I ordered out of this restaurant on a few occasions. It's pretty decent Cantonese food. The steamed dumplings were fine; the lo mein was good, and the moo goo gai pan was actually excellent. This is by far the worst food I've ever had in my life. The beef was chewier than Laffy taffy. I can't even begin to explain the foul taste of their chicken chow mein. Fried rice was steamed yellow rice with frozen peas and carrots, zero egg. Literally looks like what you'd feed a child once they can eat solids. Chicken Lo Mein had about a wings worth of chicken. No one should get food from here ever!!! The food gave us diarrhea and when we called to tell them of the food poisoning they yelled at us and told us to never come back and to never order from them. This was our first order from them and I don't plan to order ever again. The customer service was so bad. They did not care of our health or did not apologize for the diarrhea it gave us. They are awful human beings. When we left the restaurant a gentleman standing outside the door told us "don't ever eat there, everyone complains about getting diarrhea." So, apparently it's a common problem here. I am notifying the health department. And suggest the owners and their cooks learn to wash their hands and learn some basic customer service skills such as, let the customer talk without interrupting, don't tell the customer that you don't care, apologize when customer gets diarrhea, don't yell at a customer especially when they are nice. There are A TON of Thai Places in Nashville but Chinese food is hard to come by so that's why I took a chance on China Dragon. But today something happened I may never forget. I ordered my normal General Taos Chicken lunch special w/ and egg roll. I was enjoying my meal until I cut open my chicken and found a piece of metal bigger then a piece of rice inside it. I'm really Glad I found it because it had sharp edges and was ridged. If I had ingested this metal it would have really cut up my insides and caused some serious issues. I don't normally leave Yelp reviews like this but given the seriousness of this I figured I would WARN EVERYONE of what happened. Make your own choices and do what makes you happy. Just meh. I got the hankerin' for some Chinese-style fare for lunch one afternoon while at work and decided to walk the couple of blocks down to this spot. I ordered the kung pao chicken, and what I received was very bland. The chicken wasn't bad, but it also wasn't good, and there was BARELY ANY CHICKEN in my chicken dish. While the portion received was a good size, it was because there were TONS of vegetables, and very little flavor, despite the sauce it was cooked in and me adding several packets of soy. The side of fried rice was also just ok, but lacking flavor as well. The restaurant itself is odd. Very hot in the summer, as they don't have AC, and the prep was very, very slow on several standard dishes for folks waiting about in the restaurant for their orders. Relatively friendly service, but due to the wait time and lack of chicken in my dish, along with the sub-par flavor, I won't be making a bee-line to head back here. Also of note: their soy sauce packets were nasty. It left black stains on the rice, showing poor quality soy, and didn't add to the taste of the rice at all. Yuck. read more
