The Egg Flower soup was just ok, but there was a huge hunk of celery in it that had to be cut into 3 pieces just to be able to eat it. I had high hopes, nice enough inside. service was pretty fast. I ordered a combo with chow mein. The menu didn't say hard or soft noodles, the server didn't ask if we had a preference. When I got my plate, I was kind of shocked. I wish I took a picture. On my plate was a pile of celery and onions and I'm talking a big pile with some hard noodles underneath. It was really unappetizing, especially when I assumed I was going to get soft noodles. I complained to the server, but she had a bit of an attitude and said that's what comes with the combos. From the outside it looks a little ghetto.... But on the inside it's really nice. Lots of water features and it looks like it's been remodeled recently. My wife and I entered the restaurant and after about 5 minutes there were probably 8 people waiting for help. We weren't sure what was going on. Eventually they realized there were some customers and seated us. The waitresses seemed nice and helpful. The prices on the menu were really high. $18 for fried rice seems a bit high to me. We ordered chicken chow mein, crispy spicy beef, and general sesame chicken. Luckily they said we would get the lunch size and it was $12 per item. Once we got our food it all looked pretty good. The chow mein was okay, definitely a little different than what I'm used to. The noodles were reminiscent of top ramen or yakisoba noodles... In look not taste. The other two dishes were okay the beef was kinda mushy and the chicken was nice a crispy. Honestly they both tasted identical. And honestly the quality was somewhere in between Safeway and panda express. I've come to the conclusion that you cannot find Chinese food in spokane after my experience today. If the bill would have been $20 and not $40 something I'd have given it more stars. read more

All the previous reviews are incredibly wrong. I have been going to this place since I was 7 years old and couldn't be more pleased with the quality of food. Not once have I been sick from eating here, which I cannot say about other places in the area. Their lunch specials are always reasonably priced. Their almond chicken is the best in the world!!! I moved from Spokane and get cravings for this place all the time. Whenever I visit I always hit it at least twice because it is so delicious. In my mind this is the best Chinese restaurant in the world!! The service is sub par, but fast. And the dining area is CLEAN. Don't let other yelpers mislead you. I dont know what people are talking about. Typically all Americanized Chinese food is deep fried. This place is 100x better and healthier than Panda Express or any other Chinese out there. And not everything is deep fried. It kust depends on what you order. It's fresh, hot, and delicious. I do not see grease on the plate. And the sauce they cover it in is delicious! My fiancé is allergic to MSG and loves this place. Skip of PF Changs and get some real Chinese food. Tips: lunch specials make it cheap! Lunch j is the best!!! Free tea! Not your average chinese food. Came here on Christmas day and it was pretty busy but we got a table right away (for 2). The sweet and sour chicken didn't have the typical red sauce but the sauce was brown, the chicken fried rice was rice with soy sauce and shredded chicken or some type of meat on top, and the pork chow mein was all onion and celery on top of some weird brown noodles. ICK!!! Yuck!!! Gross.... Yelp does not allow people to give ZERO stars. The food was horrible. The decor had a very Chinese restaurant feel so I'll give the star to that. The service was not that great either. We had the one white woman that had no clue what was in the food, and could not tell my friends or I why they don't serve duck. She could've just said that they don't serve duck cause they can't afford it, or the chef doesn't know how to prepare it. I went with 3 friends and we order off the lunch special menu. Bad idea...... Oddly enough our server said that the lunch menu was very popular. I should have known this place was a "Kitchen Nightmare" as soon as we entered the parking lot. I thought the place was closed. The fried rice was terrible and had no flavor -- the sweet and sour pork was not even remotely sour. To quote my buddy, he said the sauce tasted like an old glazed doughnut... Not how I want my Chinese entree to taste. My suggestion is to try any OTHER Chinese restaurant within a 2 mile radius and it will definitely satisfy you more than here (I should know, I'm asian...). This was the "go-to" Chinese restaurant while I grew up in Spokane, and this was my first trip to the Dragon since moving to Vegas 10 years ago... This place used to be so busy back in the day, BUT it has completely changed for the worse! We had sweet & sour pork, spicy chicken, sweet & sour prawns, fried rice, chow mein. Food quality was pretty horrible. We couldn't distinguish the prawns from the pork since the meat had a huge amount of batter and slathered with the same dark brown corn starch sauce, a couple peices of pineapple and a cherry. Chow mein had changed from the past and the waitress was pretty terrible. She was Chinese but she must have been adopted since she didn't know what choi sum or gai lan was. It was pretty funny when my dad tried to order a Ketel One & soda and the waitress made him write it down since she didn't know what he was ordering! My expectations weren't too high to begin with since out family has found some outstanding and much more authentic Chinese food in Vegas (not to mention much cheaper). China Dragon far disappointed our party of 8 and will never go back. It was so outstandingly bad that it probably will be mentioned to everybody's friends and word will spread. Empty dining room @ 6pm On the weekend, fewer and less interesting fish in their aquarium, no more duck on the menu, Chinese waitress that didn't know Chinese dishes... such a shame after years of great experiences. I guess the competition from the rise in popularity of Panda Express, PF Changs, and the cheap Chinese buffets and the inability to make the proper adjustments by ownership killed this once fine restaurant. read more

Walking in, it is a typical Chinese eatery. The requisite fountains, lacquered furniture, that kind of thing. A friend and I were here at lunch time. We decided to try a lunch special. I chose "s". Wonton soup, cashew chicken, sweet and sour pork, and bbq pork. My friend had "v", and for the life of me I can't remember what she got because I was so wowed with my lunch! I was expecting a small bowl of soup to start. It was not a small bowl at all, but a rather large bowl with all fresh ingredients. There were large wontons in my wonton soup!!! Lots of them! Then lunch came out.... Holy giant portions, batman! A heaping plate of yumminess came out! The cashew chicken was luscious and so good! The sweet and sour pork was well done! My favorite part, however, was the bbq pork. It was juicy and moist (even though hat is a dumb word). The hot mustard was a perfect condiment! I will be back! Maybe for dinner!!! read more

Combo 7 or 11 are my favorites and they probably make some of strongest drinks for restaurants or maybe I'm a lite weight...... great place to meet family and they can accommodate large groups. OMG! Where do I begin? First, I have never written a negative review on Yelp, ever. But after dining at China Dragon this past weekend while visiting family, I feel compelled to share my opinion and story. When family suggested Chinese for dinner, I was all in! China Dragon was suggested as a great place to eat so we all went. All I can say is it was the dirtiest, most disgusting place I have ever dined at. My son and I sat on the same bench which physically moved when we sat down on it and the cushion was so old and deteriorated that I was literally sitting on just 2 slots of wood that used to house the cushion. The grime on the side walls and glass divider ledge area (dividing the eating area from the aisle was awful). It was all I could do to keep my seven year old's hands off of it. Caked on grease and grime....yuck. The service was bad. Our waitress asked what we would like to drink, one of the four of us responded and she turned and disappeared for 15 minutes! It was bizarre. When it came time to order I asked what was in the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce and the waitress had no idea. I ordered it regardless. I never knew Shrimp with Lobster Sauce was made with green peppers and celery. I was served a large sized platter with a serving spoon and a bowl of rice, I never received an additional plate to put a serving size of the rice and dinner together! So I had to make room on the platter and add some rice little by little... It was all just really weird. I decided to just keep my head down and eat. While eating several other patrons made their satisfaction known by belching loudly from the table next to us. Ugh! It was all just disgusting and gross. read more

By far the worst Chinese food I've ever had. The sweet and sour pork sauce tasted like cherry cough syrup and was way too sweet and thick. Don't even get me started with the almond chicken, it cold and tasted very bland. To top it all off the chow mein consisted of cold, soggy crunchy noodles with too much onion and celery. They have the best Chinese food in Spokane! Their exceptional quality of service also sets them apart from the others. Their kitchen has the glass windows around that allow us to see how the food's prepared. We have eating here many many times over the years. Love to come back there to eat whenever we can! read more

OMG YUM!!!!! First time having REAL ( or what we would consider Chinese food ) We're from Spokane, but have lived all over the country as we travel with my husbands job. I had the Almond Chicken -- YUM YUM YUM -- First time in over 12 years I've had what I would consider Almond Chicken. My husband had Sweet and Spicy Chicken it was excellent and our son had Shrimp Chow Main. Oh and we also had BBQ Pork as an Appetizer --- OMG AMAZING -- Word to the wise -- Plates are HUGE -- I had forgotten I guess I always went during lunch time when we lived in Spokane, so if you go at dinner time get a plate to share. I couldn't even eat a quarter of mine w/out getting full. I ended up giving the rest of our food to family living in the area so nothing went to waste. read more

This was a very nice experience. This is an old school Chinese restaurant, with all the gags. The lighting was good, the food was good and the service was good. We had the Mongolian beef and Sweet and sour chicken. The beef was tender and tasty, the chicken was large pieces of breast meat, fried up perfectly and cut up for service. They have a delicious Sweet and Sour Pork, which is actually a Korean dark sauce that they use. There egg drop soup is amazing, as is there very simple tea they serve. Food was incredibly greasy and the batter was so thick I couldn't even find the meat. The sweet and sour chicken was deep fried batter balls with sweet and sour sauce. The atmosphere is fairly gloomy and feels very dirty. Any kind of seafood is not recommended as it felt like fire coming out. Just avoid this place altogether read more

My brother and I took our elderly mother for lunch. At first glance it looked okay. Once seated we were rudely waited on, I had to beg for hot mustard, and all 3 of our lunches were served cold and not as ordered. I have never had such bad Chinese food in my life. It was like eating at a buffet that had been put on a plate and left to age before being served. We noticed in the kitchen the cook was working on the venting system between cooking meals. The whole place needs to be closed, cleaned, and sanitized. Dip the waitress in sanitizer too--rude! I guess I'm not sure why this place has so few stars --- I was rather aghast as I sat down using Yelp's Android app --- my neighbors (who come here often) said it was "good", yet no one had given it higher than a two! The sweet & sour chicken was interesting. A dark sauce, not the bright red or pink that so many really bad restaurants serve. Lightly breaded chicken breast, cut into slices with the sauce on top. I was a little taken aback when it arrived, even though the neighbors warned me what it would look like. Add in a couple of pieces of pineapple and a maraschino cherry or two (weird), but it was the first dish to be gobbled up by the four of us. Good rice, which isn't easy to obtain in Spokane. Last winter, went in person, only seating available was in bar, so we waited 1 1/2 hours to get our mean, and it was cold, sent back, and they didn't charge us, but we did leave a tip. Tonight, ordered online with Grubhub, which is only delivery option. Paid more than we would if in person with tip, but that's to be a nicety in these times. Kept watching for notification that the driver is near, or what else... nothing. 7:15 after delivery was said to be between 6:30-6:45, it now says was delivered 6:15. No doorbell was rung, no knock on the door, but when I open the front door, there is a single bag. It contained one of two meals ordered, and the appetizer. Called China Dragon was told to contact Grubhub. was transferred to a manager "Andy"?, who said same thing, we only cook it, they deliver it, the problem is with them. I then explained to "Andy" that they, not I contract the delivery company, and they should be the ones trying to find out why their delivery service wasn't fullfilling their obligation. We will never go there again. This is my wifey's favorite place here, and it was a huge deal when she was a little girl, going there, almost like a Disneyland of good food. We went today for lunch as well as last Sunday about the same time. There was a large group of us both instances. Only today we were charged a service fee for to go boxes! As well as, a fee when a person in our party ordered a slice of cake to go. Here you have businesses closing during this pandemic and then you have China Dragon thanking you for coming in and supporting their business by charging you for wanting to take your leftovers home with you! We have been customers for well over twenty years. I spoke to the manager he didnt want to talk to me he walked right past me i had to ask the waitress if that was the manager. He had been standing near our table as well behind us. He said mamm i am only the manager! I said then tell the owner! He walked right past me when the waitress told him i had wanted to talk to him. Was looking forward to going here with my wife but it was a major disappointment. The egg flower soup wasn't bad but they served catsup with there egg rolls and when we asked for sweet and sour sauce they brought this gelatinous black tar looking stuff that was foul looking and when our entrees showed up both of us made ourselves try it before judging it because it didn't look appealing in any way shape or form and we did try everything on our plates and that was it. I shouldn't have even paid for it. I asked the waitress for the check and told her no Togo boxes and we were waiting on pot stickers and I told her we didn't even want that at this point but she never had the thought to even ask us what was wrong or anything or just didn't care. Also one waitress who I'm guessing was an owner seems to yell allot. Anyway, I will never go back there. And no I would not recommend this place. One other thing is the place is dirty and wayyyyyyy over priced for the quality or lack there of that they put out. This place has horrible food. Went there on a friends advice. My friend needs to get smacked and his cholesterol checked since he eats here when in Spokane. I bet our food had more grease on it than the fryer had left in it. We cout only eat a small amount. It gives me chest pain just thinking about the food there!
