Tomato Basil and Half Grilled Cheese
    Lydia W.

10/10 experience!! After a 5-hour drive from Montana, we stopped in here on a whim, and I'm so glad we did. The staff was great, and you could honestly feel the family atmosphere between both the kitchen and front-of-house team. And the food did not disappoint. I had the tomato basil soup with a half grilled cheese, and it was to die for. My friends ordered the banh mi and the crispy chicken caesar sandwiches. Their only comments were that they'd have loved to try a few different sauces with the meats and maybe a bit more chicken on the sandwich. We left full, happy, and even picked up some merch (love the sticker!! thank you). Such a cute spot with great service and delicious food. Would absolutely recommend--even if you were from Mars.

They probably have better items but the chicken caesar wrap was really bad. Too much dressing and just something odd in the actual salad mixture. They have great reviews that's why we checked them out but it wasn't the best. The chowder and other sandwiches are probably the thing to get, not a salad sandwich. Amazing service here though, that's absolutely a 5. Cute little place, it's pretty warm inside but they had the door cracked for the breeze. Also warning the fries were extremely stale, possibly just frozen too long?

This was our first time here. We arrived Sunday around 1215p and it was a good thing we didnt delay. This place filled up quickly and there was a wait to get in. There was 1 waitress that was running the whole resturant and she was busy. I really respected the chef coming out and delivering food to help her out. We ordered the Turkey and Bacon with a side of Clam Chowder, and Cheesesteak with Tomato Basil soup. Let's start with the Turkey and Bacon which came with tomato, sprouts, and a pistachio pesto. This was delicious! The pesto paried perfectly with all of ingredients and I love sprouts on anything. The clam chowder was rich and creamy and I loved how chunky all the ingredients were. So tasty! As for the cheesesteak, it was fresh and had a great flavor. We were hoping for a little more filling for $20, but food costs have gone up so we undertood. We paired this with the Tomato basil soup that was beautifully seasoned and we loved the texture. It was delicious and a great accompaniment to the cheesesteak. We will absolutely be back.

9.29.25: We live over an hour away but had to come to this part of town to run an errand and I wanted to check this place out since it was nearby. When we walked in you immediately got that cool divey feel and I loved their old school music choice. I didn't catch our servers name but she was super sweet and friendly. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with a cup of tomato basil and my friend got the meatball sub. My grilled cheese was so cheesy and the bread was perfectly toasted. The tomato basil soup was hot, creamy, and had a good season besides the tomatoes themselves. My friend said he enjoyed his meatball sub and that it had a great flavor and that the bread was awesome. He just wished it was a tad bit hotter, temperature-wise. Overall, it was an enjoyable first visit and we'll be back again. My friend really wants to try the Chop Cheese next time. It's worth noting they have daily specials and a happy hour from 3-6pm daily with Thursdays being all day.

cheesesteak with tots and rainiers. had a lot of different sandwiches here and had been saving the cheesesteak until the time seemed right, it did not disappoint. not sure i'm going to be able to order anything else but the cheesesteak going forward.

Turkey bacon avocado sandwich on super fresh ciabatta. And Clam chowder

Nice server greeted us and said to sit wherever we wanted. She brought menus right away and they appear to offer lots of food and drink options. We split a Turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich that was served on a yummy fresh ciabatta. My friend added a cup of steelhead chowder and she thought it was good. I ordered a cup of clam chowder and it was great. I would order both the Turkey sandwich and chowder again. Recommended!

Incredible food and lots of high vibrational energy in the house. Nice staff too! Would come here again

Charming little spot tucked away on Monroe, easy to miss from the outside, and like many downtown locations, street parking is your best bet. The food was delicious! I ordered the avocado toast with a side of tater tots, and was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion, more like a bowlful than a side! The avocado toast itself was flavorful, with a nice touch of dill and plenty of tomatoes. They do have cold brew on the menu, though I was a bit disappointed to see no plant-based milk options available. Would eat here again, hoping they add more vegan options in the future!

Had a religious experience with their crispy chicken caesar sandwich, literally have thought about it everyday since I visited. One of the best sandwiches of my life. Not to mention the ambiance of LOTR on the TV, drowned out by Greta Van Fleet and Led Zeppelin, was excellent vibes for a solo dining experience, my first time visiting, definitely will not be my last

Amazing sandwiches and you guessed it - chowder! I'm from Seattle area and love me some chowder, but this might be the best I've ever had. So the place lives up to the name! Great service too. Very friendly and attentive! Can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu!

A deeper dive showed a good possibility of gluten free options, so I made the reservation. I was in town on a Monday, just after Hoopfest, but they were the kind of busy where a reservation should always be made I think. My table was ready and I sat in the bar at a high top table. I think I would choose "in the dining room" next time. My server was friendly and quick, as well as knowledgeable about gluten free options. There is even a separate menu that lays out the dishes that are already gf or could be made to be. Love this, always. I ordered the summer salad to start. It was amazing. Flavorful. Fresh. The mint wasn't overpowering, the watermelon was the perfect ripeness. It was so good. I would try to recreate it but it was done so well, and I know I couldn't hit that dressing in the same way. Get it while you can. For my main, I had ordered the scallops in my brain before I even arrived. The risotto was a little soupy, but the flavor was SO good. The corn came through and it went so well with the scallops. The tomatoes were quite over salted, but as long as I didn't eat them alone, it was alright. The scallops were perfectly cooked and I felt like the portion was appropriately sized for the dish, even though there were only 4. My server really made the experience enjoyable. The atmosphere was busy but the booths looked like they could be cozy. The prices were on the higher end. But for a special occasion, it was worth it. I really wished I'd had room for dessert. I will surely go back the next time I am in town.

First off, I was looking for an authentic Napoli style pizza. Like a fresh red sauce from crushed tomatoes and a beautiful chewy, pillowy, yet charred crust. The verdict: Wooden City is the winner! The crust is really really good! The sauce is a bright beautiful tomato sauce that looks like crushed tomatoes however, the sauce was lacking flavor:( I would give this pizza a 3 out of 5. The crust is a 4 1/2 star but the sauce lacking in flavor..brought it down to a 3. Cute place, very pleasant friendly staff..way friendlier vibe than Barrelhouse. The boys are easy on the eyes for younger girls on the hunt! Lmao Don't bother with the Margherita pizza at Barrelhouse. Thank God I only paid $12 for the Margherita Monday deal of half off! The crust was horrible! Dominos has better crust! Costco pizza's had a better crust! The sauce has flavor, very garlicky like fresh garlicky but more of a paste with a load of oregano in it. The cheese didn't have that fresh taste I was hoping for. However, they are known for their Detroit pizza's which I haven't tried but if it's the same sauce, I would pass. Not saying it's bad but it's just not MY cup of tea whether it's for a Detroit style or any pizza. Now you don't have to guess which place has a better Margherita pizza. I wouldn't even pay $12 at Barrelhouse for a marg. Would I come back, yes, if I were in my 20's.. lol but since I'm older and the food is more important to me...no...:/ But hey, maybe their other pizza's are better! I can see a salty pepperoni being good!

Not just greasy, extremely greasy, if you like that. Tasty, but, over-the-top on the greasiness. And, I now know smash burgers aren't my thing. For the price, seems like a few fries or tots should come with it. For the burger & basket of tots (which was a generous amount), was over $21 without drinks. We had water. Only two bad things: 1) I walk with a cane & it slipped on the greasy floor by the cash register where you order. Maybe throw another rug down there? 2) There was no hand soap in the bathroom. One of the staff said they hadn't gotten their supply order in & they were out. a) What are you using to wash your hands in the kitchen? Dish soap maybe? Hopefully, something other than the hand sanitizer that was being offered to customers. b) THERE'S LITERALLY A YOKE'S ACROSS THE PARKING LOT!!!! Finally, it was very busy (glad to see that!), especially on the patio. I love supporting local businesses, but, this just isn't for me.
