Interior - bar inside old train car
    Adrienne C.

What a fun experience! A must in Spokane. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant is inside of an old dining car and has been in business since 1931! The inside as shown in my picture is very charming and old timey.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Allow time to wait for a table unless you are just one or two like I was and able to grab a seat at the bar. I was able to sit immediately. The staff is very amiable and the hostess made the recommendation that I try the Caprese Benedict, which had fried tomatoes in place of bread, fresh basil and blood orange balsamic drizzle. They offer the option of one or two Benedict, which is nice if you aren't super hungry. They also give the option to smother the hashbrowns and cheese, which I obviously opted into. The menu is absolutely massive though, so if Benedict's or even breakfast aren't your jam, you should be able to find something that suits your fancy. Also worth noting that they offer a very wide variety of gourmet flavors of house-made juices (7 or 8) for mimosas, like honeydew melon mint which I tried as a soda with soda water since I was driving.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Frank's Diner is a classic no-frills breakfast spot set inside a vintage railcar, and it was hands down my favorite breakfast spot during my visit to Spokane.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The crispy fried deviled eggs were incredibly unique and absolutely delicious--I could have easily ordered another round. The food was hearty, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a great diner breakfast. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick, making the experience even better. This is one of those places that lives up to the hype, and I would definitely come back again on my next trip.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a cool spot![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was a definitely a bit of a wait with it being Friday, but I'd say it's worth it. It also takes a while depending on your server so for the best experience go when you have a free morning. The food was all tasty, nothing over the top and experimental lol, just classic diner food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]For the vibes and decent prices, highly recommend going if you find the time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Very good food, friendly service and good portions. Prices are comparable for the servings. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place is clean, servers are nice, and everything is pretty much ready at the table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend if you're in Spokane

Downtown diner that is an old rail car. This place is fun. Typical diner meals, open early and serves all meals. Staff was friendly and quick to refill my coffee each time I was about 3 to 4 sips in. Stopped by for breakfast. Enjoyed a bacon, egg, and hash brown dish. Bacon here is a thick cut and yumm! Great stop and will be sure to stop in again when in the area. Thank you Frank's.

This is the place to be for breakfast in Spokane. The diner was packed but I was seated at the counter in about five minutes. The staff members were wonderful- friendly and seeming to be happy to be there. Bacon and eggs, with a side of huckleberry pancakes and fried green tomatoes. Everything was amazing. Of course I couldn't eat it all but I tried. Well back to Texas, but the memory of this breakfast stays with me.

Have been to Franks a few times when visiting my daughter. We try to always go to Franks on our visit. Excellent diner food. Wait staff always have bright shining attitudes and honestly this goes a long way. Franks is in a a railcar. The car was in Seattle for sometime until they lost there lease. Seattle's loss is Spokane's gain. Yummy food, great variety, this needs to be a stop if you are going through or stopping in Spokane.

If you are looking for yummy food, with fun niche decor then Frank's Diner is the place for you!! We always love stopping for breakfast when we are driving through. Jenn, our server was excellent! She went out of her way for us, a couple times! She was sweet, eager to serve, and we had some good laughs! The dinner car is unique and beautiful, and quite a fun way to have food!

My wife (Jennifer) and I were returning to California after visiting her FA and decided to stop and eat at Franks Diner, in Spokane. The restaurant is inside a rail car, and as we entered we were greeted kindly and with a smile by Greeter & waiter, Hunter. Hunter was genial, professional, engaging, and very helpful (Educated us to their menu) as this was our 1st time at their restaurant. Hunter recommended the 1/2 pound Boar Bacon Club Sandwich on sour dough that did not disappoint, was the best "Club" I'd ever eaten, hands down. It consisted of Pecan smoked boar shoulder bacon, house roasted turkey, fresh greens & tomato. Hunter also recommended the New Zealand Caesar House-made salad with fresh romaine, chopped bacon, croutons and parmesan topped with a soft basted egg, my mouths watering just thinking about it. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the 1/2 Fish & Chips with the Hand-cut and breaded arctic cod and fries. Served with house-made coleslaw, & homemade tartar sauce. Our visit to Franks was made so much better because of Hunter's kindness, hospitality, and knowledge of the menu. Plus, he was engaging, intelligent, and a wonderful ambassador for Frank's. Thanks a lot Hunter, and good luck in all your personal & professional endeavors. Rob & Jennifer.....

First trip to Spokane and we needed to eat breakfast as soon as we landed. I did some research ahead of time and I decided on going to Frank's Diner. Service was great from the women checking us in to the service provided by our server. Food was also on point and might I add, getting country gravy and onions added to your has towns is the only way to go. We had normal breakfast fare as you can see by the pics. While the food was great, the total bill (including tip) was on the higher side ($79)

    Turkey club sandwich

Quite possibly the best turkey club sandwich I've ever had.....in-house smoked turkey and bacon. I wish I would have had room for the fries but I just couldn't. Staff is so friendly and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Eating in an old passenger train car was a bonus for sure.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Ask the Community - Frank's Diner

Should you make reservations or is the wait not that long?

This place does not accept reservations. It's an old school diner where you show and hope there is no line. I went midweek and had to wait a few minutes but ended up sitting on the bar stool watching the cooks.

    Is this place wheelchair accessible?

Yes... there is a wheelchair accessible ramp on the opposite end of main entrance.

Does this place have vegan options? If so, what kind?

No, this is meat and potatoes country.

    Is the oatmeal sweetened?

I doubt it. you can sweeten it yourself.

The waiter staff are excellent. They will start a conversation with you if you engage. Very friendly. Even the cook-I was sitting at the bar-asked me how my meal was sitting. I told him-well, I did not actually say it-but I should have told him the hash browns were to die for! If I had just a tiny complaint, I would mention to fry up the browns a little crispier. Any time I'm hungry for breakfast food, I think of this place. Throwback decor, real waitresses, and energetic cooks. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, people are waiting to get in. But you won't wait long. But if you do, it will be worth it.

It looked like they were using olives to try to cover up how the dish actually looked, which was mushy and gross. Somehow it tasted worse than it looked. The BLT had scant bacon, tons of lettuce, a few pink flavorless tomato slices and tons of bread. It fell completely apart due to not enough mayo. All I tasted was dry day old bread. The waitress kept leaning over a booth wall and across me, to present things instead of walking around a few steps to the table to complete service. She literally was knocking things off my plate in order to keep leaning over the booth wall to deliver things. She then would just laugh and continue this weird reach thing for anything else she brought including the check. It was really bizarre. The final audacity was the total of our lunch which ended up over $40. It wasn't worth $4. I usually give an establishment a few trys before giving up on them but in this case we will never be back.
