in town for the weekend to see family and asked the locals where they recommended to eat, Majority recommended this restaurant so we went and I'm so glad I had the courage to ask strangers about their recommendations. Shout out to them and this restaurant for being so delicious and a delicacy Indiana doesn't have to offer. Staff is very friendly and very helpful with the menu. Amazing prices and portions. Also known as "China-Thai Cuisine" (you will see a sign) It's a solid Chinese-Thai place in Ridgecrest considering the price, location, and menu offerings. It most definitely will not have the best or most authentic Chinese-Thai food, but given the lack of Asian restaurants in the area, it's a nice place to stop & eat. We did the --hot & sour soup: decent, not authentic, can adjust spicy levels --cream cheese fried wontons: surprisingly good, one of my favorites --chili basil w/ shrimp: spicy...not bad --silver noodles w/ veggies --eggplant & chicken All were decent and had large portions for the price. I would come again if I'm ever in the area! Tip: Order online here https://www.chinaexpressridgecrest.com/s/order Pick-up orders are usually ready in 30-40 minutes. You will NOT get a text/call saying that your order is ready.

My Yelp search for dinner in Ridgecrest guided us here. The service staff were friendly, the Thai Tea was very good and our choices of sesame chicken and silver noodles stir fried were pretty decent. With the exception of the chicken egg foo young, we've had much better, quite a tasty meal. Overall, a good choice for Chinese & Thai food when staying in Ridgecrest.

Nicely remodeled China Express.

Great Thai food. Had Green curry a chicken coconut cream soup and pot stickers. More than two hungry people can eat. Delicious.

Orange chicken was right on!

The price is a little high, yet the pork fried rice and orange chicken always taste amazing.

On our drive back to California from Reno, I was seriously craving sushi. I searched along our…read moreroute and Tokyo House Japanese Restaurant popped up on both Google and Yelp with decent reviews, so my husband and I decided to give it a try. We ordered a few sushi rolls, a rice plate with beef and vegetables, and chicken potstickers. I'll start with the positives: the woman who took our order over the phone was very kind and professional, and our food was ready right on time when we arrived. The restaurant itself was also very clean, which we appreciated. We took everything to go since we were continuing our road trip. Unfortunately, once we started eating, we were really disappointed. While the pricing was reasonable, the food quality just didn't match the reviews. The beef had almost no flavor, the rice was bland, and the overall dish felt very under-seasoned. The sushi was simply okay not terrible, but not something I'd go out of my way for. The biggest letdown, though, was the chicken potstickers. They were burned on the outside and when we opened them up, there was barely any filling inside. They tasted dry and overcooked, which was really disappointing. It wasn't a horrible experience overall, but definitely not memorable in a good way. Would I come back? No. Would I recommend it? Probably not. The service and cleanliness were solid, but when it comes to Japanese food, flavor and execution matter most and unfortunately, this just didn't deliver for us.

The green onions were old and dry. I had never seen such unfresh green onions being presented to me before. I was like, wow, they must have an inexperienced chef working on Friday night. We decided to order one last roll from the specials-- it was called Bam Crunch. We waited a long time for this to come to our table, even the server noticed it had been a while. You would think that in the 20+ minutes it took for this one roll that they could have found some decent cilantro, even if that meant a quick trip to Stater Bros. The cilantro was worse than the green onions, and I was just disappointed at this point. How does a sushi chef let something like this stay in the kitchen instead of composting it or throwing it in the trash? Please don't disrespect your patrons like this. This is not fast food, nor is it inexpensive. Also, the maki are smaller than at other Japanese restaurants. I would rather drive to the AV the next time we want sushi.

The staff had my order ready right on time, which made the pickup quick and easy. I tried the Thai tea boba first, and that's when I knew this place was going to be good. When the milk tea is made right, you can tell the food will be just as good. The Thai tea was honestly one of the best I've had. Coming from someone who's tried Thai tea all over Los Angeles, this definitely matched that level. Then I tried the chicken katsudon, and it instantly became comfort food for me. It was flavorful, fresh, and so satisfying. This is easily one of the best comfort food spots I've found in Ridgecrest, and it truly reminds me of the quality restaurants back in LA County. Highly recommend -- I'll definitely be coming back!

It definitely is more of a hole in the wall vibe, which to me usually is a sign of good food. There was a steady flow of people who came in to order after us so seems like a pretty popular spot. We got the ube milk drink with boba. Had a nice amount of ube paste on the cup as you can see, they did not skimp out on it! Nice milky ube flavor after mixing. We ordered the pork lumpia, chicken pancit and lechonsilog (garlic rice plate). Everything was made to order so it was nice and fresh! Lumpia were nice and crispy, good pork flavor and on the salty side but paired well with the sweet chili sauce. The chicken and veggie pancit was freshly off the wok, even 10-15 mins into the meal it was still hot! It also was on the salty side with peppery flavor. The lechon was crunchy and cut into nice 1-2 bite pieces. The garlic rice tasted more like pepper than garlic to me, wish it had a little more garlic flavor. Overall the food was just a bit on the salty/peppery side for me, but otherwise seemed like a good place for classic Filipino food. Their menu also had other things like pho, katsu, loco moco so has different options for everyone!

The food was fresh and hot and they had shrimp at least 5 ways and I like that the fish was salmon. I tried a small bit of many things and everything was good. They gave me a pot of hot tea and that was good too. The service is very friendly and they want to make sure that you enjoy your meal. They have a salad bar and also small sushi selection which is fine as all their hot Chinese food is really good. I am not a dessert person but I tried their mango jello, real ice cream and hot apple strudel. They were all tasty. I was impressed with the quality of meat. They have orange chicken, chicken teriyaki skewers, broccoli beef, kung pao chicken, and my favorite was the BBQ pork ribs. I enjoyed my visit. Going back soon.

If you avoid fried food you need to know that Ale's hand breads their Seafood. This means you can order yours GRILLED! My favorites are grilled catfish and scallops with lemon pepper. Their coleslaw is delicious so I get double and skip the fries. We frequently go to the Central Coast and even there Ale's Seafood in Ridgecrest is often better! The decor is super fun and reggae music is a beach lover's choice. The servers are great here, so friendly and careful to get it your way. We ate here and at Ale's steakhouse across town and they are very similar to me in terms of value,…read morethough they do differ. First, the good. It's nice that there is a restaurant in town with fresh fish. Our server was awesome. We were going to a tiki themed place (which you should 100% try to find if you are in town) afterwards and the server shared some cool info about it when we mentioned it. I ordered fish and chips, against my better judgement, and it was just OK. I'm a fan of beer batter that builds up more than a thin crust on the fish, and this wasn't that. On top of that, the cod was a little over cooked (a bit of a theme for the other Ale's as well). That said, the flavor profile was good and their tartar sauce was on point. I had the option for seasoned fries or steak fries and opted for the steak fries to save some sodium intake. I'd probably shorten my life slightly and get the seasoned fries next time. My wife had a salad that was very similar to the other Ale's -- lots of iceberg lettuce and overcooked chicken. We also had the clam chowder, which had a good consistency but was just a touch fishy. I still enjoyed it, though. They have a pretty good selection of beer and other drinks, as well. The decor is informal and overall I liked the place. Between the two Ale's I'd probably give a slight nod to the original, but they are very similar restaurants other than the focus on seafood here.
