It's been two for two! This is the SECOND restaurant that looked a bit sketchy from the outside during our road trip to Mammoth, but was REALLY GOOD!!! The inside had a cute vibe, although the bathroom was outdated. Regardless of the aestetics, the food was AMAZING! The chicken wings were fried to perfection-the teriyaki sauce (on the side) was absolutely delicious. The Yellow Chicken Curry, Orange Chicken, Beef Lumpua, and Rice soup were also great! My favorite spot in Ridgecrest! The Green Curry is incredible and service is great. I come here every time I'm in town. Very popular for takeout, always pretty empty inside but a cute vibe. They also are one of the few restaurants in Ridgecrest that are good for gluten allergies! The owner was very accommodating for someone in my group who can't eat gluten. read more

I chose to come here with my colleague since it's just down the street from the Navy Base. The restaurant has a casual vibe with plenty of space inside. It wasn't very crowded, likely because China Lake is a remote area with one of the largest Navy Bases in the country. This restaurant was surprisingly delicious. Was not expecting to find decent Thai food out in the boonies. They seated us right away and were very attentive. We ordered 4 items online. They told us it would be ready at 6, which was 45 minutes of waiting time. When we got there the place was empty. When we got home they missed an item in our order. We went back to tell them and they said they didn't make it, they will make it now. I kindly asked for a refund or a little compensation for having to come back and then he said I'm making you a new one, what's the problem. He said I make you a new one, don't come here again because of my complaint. That's is such horrible customer service for a small town! No sorry, nothing. Very unprofessional. I have been to Thailand countless times over the past 40 years. This is the one dish that separates fake Thai from real Thai. This one had the right ingredients, no substitutions. Had Pad See Ew. New to Ridgecrest from LA and making my rounds and this is gonna be my spot for sure. AUTHENTIC Thai food that blows away a lot of restaurants when it comes to Thai food. The folks here are very friendly, fast, and hospitable. Bae and I had boat noodle soup, Laos style papaya salad, beef jerky, and sticky rice. Boat noodle soup has an aromatic and tasty (pork free) broth that you can immediately tell has been simmering and developing complexity, the beef jerky was fried perfectly so the dark soy carmelized but didn't burn, papaya salad had the perfect amount of shrimp paste and fish sauce to not overpower the vegetables but give you that funky goodness that dances well with the acidity from the citrus and sweetness of the grape tomatoes, AND my sticky rice was fresh which if you eat Asian food or have any sense you know damn well how important rice is to the meal. They pulled no punches with flavor and made everything like my momma who comes from Northern Thailand like these lovely folks. I decided to try this place because they have mango skicky rice. For dinner, I ordered the special, BBQ pork (no photo ). It came in a delicious sauce on a bed of rice with a few slices of cucumber and sausage. They also had some spicy sauce and green onion garnish. It was very good! They much have changed the cook because the food taste different now, and I ordered the same thing. The Rad Nah still tasted the same, but they only had broccoli. They used to have more variety with the veggies. I ordered the fried fish with veggies. The flavor for the veggies was weird. It smelled like shrimp paste. And the size of the fish was smaller. The yellow curry was a disappointment. Not only they gave us half the amount they used to give, but the flavor wasn't that good. There was a lack of coconut/thickness to the sauce. It lack the curry. My husband also bought the chowmein a few months ago and it wasn't that great. It noodle was quite broken, and the flavor was average. Their fried rice was good, just smaller amount. Decided to try this place out after looking at Yelp reviews. Located in the middle of the desert in a small town, I was blown away by the quality of the food. They have an extensive menu that made it hard to decide. We had the shrimp tempura and gyoza dumplings. Both were perfect as starters. Our entrees were the orange chicken, yellow curry and a Thai omelette. Again all were fantastic. Orange chicken had just the right texture and amount of sauce. The omelette was an egg cooked flat like a crepe stuffed with meat and vegetables. I have not had anything else like this. The yellow curry was mild and flavorful. Stopped here because overall reviews were good... but don't trust everything you read! We ordered several different items to try, since we're not overly familiar with Thai food. We got spring rolls ($3 for 1, which is half the size of a full spring roll that we are used to ordering, so if you want to share, expect just one bite each), shrimp and scallop with garlic sauce (this was the best thing we ate and it was mediocre, tasted mostly like teriyaki sauce which I don't mind), Tom yum soup with shrimp (which didn't have noodles as shown in the photo, broth tasted like an unwashed lime peel, and shrimp was over cooked..we did not eat this at all), and a chicken teriyaki plate (chicken was over cooked, teriyaki sauce had no flavor, vegetables it came with were not seasoned at all). We will not be coming back here and would have preferred to go to the buffet, at least we might have found something amongst the options. The food was not good and was very expensive; soup, teriyaki plate, 2 spring rolls, and shrimp/scallop plate cost us nearly $60. I don't mind paying high prices for food, but I want to enjoy it; in this case we did not and I regret paying that much. We ordered our food to go but as we waited the inside of the restaurant seemed dirty, and it was cold; felt even colder considering it was 30 something degrees outside already.
