waiting time was about half an hour, which is I would say a decent wait time. I tried their mapo tofu with tossed noodles, the sauce was alright, but the noodle seems a bit too dry. I tried their Chinese sausage, which was utterly dry but flavor was ok. I tried their French fries, and it's pretty bland, but it was crispy. I have not tried their other dishes yet but maybe some other time because not to lie, their menu prices are high. I spent a little over 35 Dollars on the noodle dish plus two sides. I don't know what others think, but for me I believe the price for the bowl of noodles should be like a $10 price, while the two sides should be like a decent $4-5 dollars each. read more

The people working here are amazing, truthfully. These servers stand out enough for me to comment specifically. Food: The food here is elevated Chinese food and is the premier spot for Chinese food. I don't enjoy Chinese food places outside of Ridgecrest because this place is superior to all of them! If you are outside of Ridgecrest, this spot is absolutely worth the trip. 4/5 stars giving four stars mainly because the menu lacks item descriptions and ingredient lists--i keep forgetting there's celery in the egg/vegetable fried rice because it's not listed anywhere! also, please make a vegetable dumpling! it's crossed off the menu like it's gone forever, but it feels like such a natural fit. that said, we are regulars here for a reason. my eldest daughter nataleigh loves the soup dumplings & spicy chili oil wontons, the staff is wonderfully friendly, & the joint is always clean. i'm also big on the green beans & tell everyone this place has the best fried rice in town. we'll definitely keep giving them our business, but i implore management to add those veg dumplings! edit: my brother paul joshua said he keeps dreaming about the braised beef noodle soup. portions were generous & i swear he was eating for 45 minutes straight. he's not a slow eater either lol. read more

Had dinner at Dumpling Street with my family tonight, and unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. We ordered two Clear Broth Beef Noodle Soups. When the soups arrived, there was no bok choy, even though the menu photo clearly shows bok choy as part of the dish. I asked the waitress about the missing bok choy. Her response was that "sometimes the picture in the menu is deceiving." Seriously? If the restaurant knows the picture is misleading, then why is the ingredient shown so clearly in the menu photo? A menu picture should accurately represent what customers are ordering, especially when an ingredient is visibly included in the dish. The waitress eventually brought us six small pieces of bok choy, which we had to divide between the two soups. Then, when we received the bill, we discovered that we had been charged $7.98 for those few pieces of bok choy. We didn't even argue about the charge because, at that point, it simply wasn't worth the hassle. But I went back and looked at the menu again, and sure enough, the Clear Broth Beef Noodle Soup picture clearly shows bok choy in the bowl. This left a very bad impression. It felt less like good customer service and more like an attempt to nickel-and-dime customers over something that was visibly represented as part of the meal. Dumpling Street has lost my family as customers. There are plenty of restaurants where I can spend my money and feel like the restaurant actually values its customers. Being charged nearly $8 for a few small pieces of bok choy that appear to be included in the advertised dish is unacceptable. Very disappointing experience. I should stop going here. Ordered food Togo last wk and another disappointing day. - Fried rice still good - sweet and sour pork: good flavor but very small serving. Less than half container. - Mongolian beef: ok but also small serving - Dan Dan noodles. Don't know why they even put in the menus. It has this weird aftertaste as well as bitter. Some kind of grounded spice they use that they shouldn't. Should just use garlic. Another issue I had was that I paid in cash but they charged me 3% fee for credit card. New dumpling house is pretty good. We had the soup dumplings, spicy chili oil wonton, house noodles spicy, and sesame balls. Dumplings were great with good flavor. The noodles were good but a little too spicy for me. I'm excited to try everything on their menu. Ambience is loud and busy and there is a full bar with tvs to watch the games. Service was good but a little slow as expected for a new restaurant in Ridgecrest. All in all, would recommend this place. read more

Went for lunch and really enjoyed this new place. Inside is very nicely decorated with new tables and booths. Excellent servers, checked back several times and kept drinks filled. I went in very excited. Not so excited when I left. I ordered an appetizer which looked absolutely wonderful in the picture noted in the menu. It was not what I got. It was tasty but look nothing like the picture of the menu. My main meal was a noodle bowl but again there wasn't much description in the menu to actually what was included in the bowl. Well it was the jalapeño chicken bowl and there was jalapeños and chicken along with the noodle and a lot of bell pepper. The menu should be very explicit as to all the ingredients. Cause there was no description at all, except for the name of the dish, which was jalapeño chicken. That part was truth, but I would never ever order it again, just not tasty. The menu also had a lot of dishes that were blacked out, which gave a more limited menu to choose from. For a new restaurant I hope they get their menu together. I hope they change it so and can be a little bit more descriptive and I hope the pictures that they utilize in the menu are similar to what you actually get cause that's kind of deceptive. So I did enjoy the appetizer as it was tasty. But it was nothing like the menu picture. I did not enjoy my meal. read more

Dishes came out with odd timing. what are considered appetizer (cream cheese wontons) came last, about 15 minutes after first plate came out. there were 4 of us, all family, so we knew we would share. But with others, it may have made for strange meal. chalked it up to being open less than a month. and very busy. We went later for lunch. Not at all busy, same kind of drawn out delivery of food, with final dish arriving about 15 minutes after first single order of dumplings. I don't really mind, if it made more sense, like rice or noodles came before what was ordered with it. Food was excellent every time. What I found bland, I will simply not order again. Chicken Fried rice was good. All Dumplings except shrimp (no flavor) were great to me. pan fried chicken was kind of dry, no sauce except the soy on table. sweet and sour pork has been good and beef wraps also. Did not try anything else yet. Service has been good, servers very nice. Bar is not so great, probably because it is new. Worse Margaritas I have had in a while. Maybe a bad mix? Ice tea was nice. it is clean, prices good. Cant wait till I can call for a take out! I think it will only get better as they iron out the few issues they have. I had had high hopes for this place after looking at the menu. Authentic chinese food in Ridgecrest, yum, my prayers are answered. As the sign says fresh hand made I was expecting awesome quality. I first ordered the spicy wonton dish. The picture looks amazing and a bowl filled to the brim with handmade fresh wontons immersed in chili oil finished with green onion on the top. What I got looked nothing like the picture it was served in a very over sized bowl with only a very small amount of chilli oil (kind of) on the bottom. Ok so the presentation is not representative of the dish, ok but the quality has to be there. Unfortunately it was not. The chili oil stuff tastes sweeter than simple oil which is not sweet. Its like they diluted the chili oil with a bottle of premade teriyake sauce. But most disapointing is that the dumplings were clearly hand made in advance and frozen. And likely hand made with simple premade dumpling/wonton wrappers. The noodle wrapper was cooked unevenly and not all the way, this is a tell tail sign of a frozen dumpling/wonton. the waitress asked how every thing was and I gave her my honest opinion. She did not even dispute that the wontons were frozen and not fresh. Next I ordered the Braised Beef noodle soup, a classic chinese dish. It was really one dimensional and bland and something was wrong with the texture of the noodles. The beef was ok but it also seemed like it was braised a long time ago and not this afternoon. The broth had zero spice to it and very little umami. Well we are in ridgecrest and this town can be culinarily challenged, I was disappointed. However, It is possible to make exceptional authentic asian food in the desert as exemplified Bahay Kubo, not chinese but truely exceptional and authentic. I may try this place one more time, but thats it, definitely will not order any dumplings or noodle soups though. read more
