I've been eating here since they opened. For the price, this is the best chinese food I've had. I used to live down route 7 and have tried a bunch of places in the area, and I only order from them. I would definitely recommend them to locals. They are carryout/delivery only though. Definitely a hole in the wall and a little hard to find at first (make sure to go to the very back of the building community). Walked in and the whole place smelled delicious. I'm not a huge Chinese food connoisseur, which makes it even more appealing to me because rookie Chinese food eaters like me usually play it safe with the General or sweet and sour chicken. The worst Chicken and Cashew Nuts with fried rice I've ever had! The cashew nuts were just sprinkled on top of the chicken (not cooked in with the chicken and sauce) and there was nothing (no vegetables, eggs, etc,) in the fried rice. This is my go to place for Chinese carry out and they deliver very quickly. This restaurant is hidden and they do not have a sit down area but they are very busy which is a good sign that people like the food. I have ordered multiple dishes here and they are all good especially the hot and sour soup. They will also customize a dish. I was all set to order from China Express. I live in their delivery radius, but when I called at lunch time I was told at lunch they don't deliver "that far". I was kind of disappointed. Be sure to call to check they will deliver to you at the time you are hoping to eat. read more

Kindness and food - my two favorite things! This place has both! A very small take out and delivery shop that has yummy dishes. I had the Singapore noodles and the general tsaos chicken and both were delicious. Slight heat on the noodles was the perfect way to warm up on a cold evening. Very shady place. On more than one occasion they miscalculated the total cost of the food. I don't think they think people will notice if they take a few pennies here and there. Ordered delivery and the guy came exactly when they said he would. The food was piping hot and came in huge portions. My husband enjoyed his lemon chicken and was only able to finish half of it. We also got the crispy beef Szechuan style with had a nice flavor and wasn't too spicy. The lo mein was also delicious! After a day of site-seeing in DC we couldn't bear the thought of going back out to eat, so found this place on Yelp. Food and service were great, although 'she' said the egg roll was a little dry. Didn't try it myself but loved the Kung Pow chicken and hot-n-sour soup. She also had the Sesame Chicken with fried rice. Rice was great, but I prefer spicey chinese so the entree naturally wasn't my favorite. Nothing wrong with it, just not my preference. It seemed a little pricey, but they probably gave us large orders by default. There are still leftovers around, even after having a late-night snack and chinese food for breakfast. This place has gone downhill in recent years. I guess I have some authority to write this review and say what is true in my opinion primarily because I have been ordering delivery and carry out here since the late 1990's and have seen the decrease in the food quality and an obvious increase in prices. They do have some of the cheapest prices in the area for lunch specials and entrees compared with other Chinese restaurants in Tyson's and the McLean area. My beef with them is how I've been ordering from them for over 15 years and have picked up food for carry out many times and phoned in delivery and I am treated like they don't even know me, I find it hilarious that for 15 years it's like I am Joe Blow that just stopped by for the first time. The other day I was overcharged for a lunch special and a can of soda by almost one dollar and I only noticed it on the credit card receipt until after I left. I wonder how many times that has happened to unknowing customers. I even checked the menu and called back the store to make sure that it wasn't my mistake and reverify the prices. Sure the food is decent and tasty for Americanized Chinese food, not the best and by far not the worst. There are better Chinese places near by but their prices are a little higher. read more

Tasty sauces, very good quality ingredients (especially tender chicken/beef, never gristly), great value, friendly hard-working owners (keeping in mind they get swamped with phone calls at busy times). I just ordered a beef with oyster sauce and the beef is stale. Oh my god, I got diarrhea.

We have ordered from China Express for years and had been very happy. Slowly however the meat/seafood portions have gotten very small. Tonight we ordered moo goo gai pan and added shrimp. The shrimp was an extra $6 which was fine, but knowing that the dishes have become primarily vegetables we had them put the shrimp in a separate containers so we would know exactly what we had paid for. When it was delivered the main dish itself had 2.5 ozs of chicken... We actually weighed it. It was primarily broccoli. It was yet again very disappointing and the dish (while tasty) was definitely not worth $17. When you call them they do not apologize or offer to correct the order, which should be the case. We are sad that we will no longer be ordering from what was once our favorite chinese take out restaurant. read more
