My husband got the bone broth and I had the golden hot and sour broth. Delicious! I was so thrilled with our choices. The golden hot and sour broth was thankfully not too spicy. I enjoyed the different toppings in the soup. At the table, they had black vinegar, soy sauce, and chili sauce for you to enjoy wirh your bowl. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side so not great for large groups. The restaurant name Shi Miao Dao literally means in 10 sec the food would arrive, implicating fast service. But don't get your expectation up, it just a regular Chinese restaurant. The food came out nice and hot but just not in 10 sec. I've tried their golden soup N11, and other soups N1, N4 and what they had in common was a very flavorful broth. A decent amount of ingredients were thrown in but most of which are nothing special, just hot pot ingredients like quail egg, wood ear mushroom, cabbage, tofu, fishcake , choice of meat. I always kept leftover broth so reuse at home. It's that good. Deducting a star because when we asked for tea they didn't tell us that it was $4 and the tea was literally just a tea bag. Also when the restaurant first opened they gave the option to have all your ingredients outside of the soup so you could cook them yourself (see pic). Now they got rid of that feature. read more

It's basically hotpot with rice noodles. My friend and I got dinner here last week since it's definitely noodle soup season now. The service was fast and food came out pretty quickly. N1 ORIGINAL BEEF BRISKET RICE NOODLES 原味肥牛米线 - 15.99 The noodles came out in a boiling, creamy broth. They were definitely not stingy with the toppings since I was able to enjoy 1-2 of them for every bite of noodles. The broth was savory and soothing, but a bit too salty. At the end, I wasn't able to finish all of it. Noodles soaked up the broth well, and great variety of toppings. I'd get this again because I love noodle soups, but the only caveat is that there's too much sodium. My friend downed her entire bowl plus the soup, so the sodium-level comment is definitely more subjective. Overall, solid rice noodle soup. I'd come back again. read more

The place is relatively new, so everything inside looks pretty nice. Parking was a bit of a challenge on a weekend, especially since it's located near a corner of a busy shopping center. To start, we opted for the steamed chicken with chili oil. This cold cut chicken, doused in chili sauce and covered with sesame seeds and peanuts was good. For the hot pot, we selected the number 1 original pork bone soup, and the number 4 spicy mala soup. They came out in these nice looking hotpot bowls and it was steaming hot. Came here for lunch today on a whim and we were pleasantly surprised by how good everything tasted. We ordered smashed cucumber and Taiwanese popcorn chicken as sides and they were amazing. The cucumbers were crunchy, crisp and packed with flavor. The chicken was so tender, juicy and has amazing spices on it. For the entree, I ordered the original pork bone broth with beef brisket and it came with so much inside. There were so many noodles and brisket pieces. The noodles were very good. It also includes wood ear mushrooms, one quail egg, fried tofu, and iceberg lettuce. Wish they had substituted the iceberg lettuce for Napa cabbage, because that would've made the dish even better. It was in a nice broth and the container was scalding hot. However, it's not as pictured. It comes out all pre cooked. Which is okay. The smashed cucumber was disappointing. It was not prepared with cafe and the flavor was bland. The sweet potatoes fries were probably just frozen fries with powdered sugar on top. The tofu was cold Tofu was kewpie dressing on it. The food was okay for the price but tasted only a little semi homemade. The atmosphere was also very loud. If someone talked you could hear it. Lots of arguments about parking as well. The pickled green soup was flavorful and sour as expected, I personally thought it could be more pickled. The tomatoes soup is definitely heavy in the tomatoes flavor, it kinda reminds me of the tomato egg dish ( if you know.. you know). Overall I enjoyed both soup based flavor! It came with a lot of different toppings like noodles, quail eggs, beef (choice of meat), spam, tofu, meatballs, corn, & more! The only surprising thing was that these soups are advertised as "ingredients are in the side & you cook it" but both of the meals came out with the toppings in the soup. Loved the chicken noodle soup! They are not overly salty like Jinya Ramen. This place is a good candidate for repeat visits. However, if they have a menu that allows you to customize, I would probably come more often. For example, you can pick a soup base (chicken, fish, tomatoe, or beef), then add various protein and veggies. I would pick more veggies instead of the preset ham and quail egg. I understand that some people aren't familiar with toppings and would get lost. For those customers you should keep a handful of set combos. An additional "create your own" option would leave some room for noodle soup connoisseurs to enjoy more. Pretty yummy noodle soup place!! The soup comes in a stone(?)-like bowl and it comes super hot. I had to wait a couple minutes for it to cool down so be careful not to burn your mouth. The orders deliver quickly and each order comes with the same set of items that go into the broth. There needs to be more consistency in the boiling point of the broth - one of ours was almost boiling over while the other wasn't bubbling at all. Secondly, the items delivered are all already pre-cooked aside from the meat, so it's not really a cooking experience. The authentic mi xian way in China is all your items are raw. The taste of the broths were good though the noodles were too soggy. A good alternative if you want something like a hot pot but don't have the stomach for a full hot pot experience. read more

The DMV area is quite late when it comes to the Yunnan cross bridge noodle game (as it is with most food but that's another story) and I'm surprised there aren't more of these in the area. I've had this dish in other parts of the US such as NY & CA, but never in this area. Service was extremely fast, even faster than some fast food places. This was during lunchtime on a Sunday so it was somewhat busy yet the restaurant was so efficient. N11 Golden Beef Brisket Rice Noodles: I'm not sure if it was just for me, but they didn't present this dish as a platter of individual items to place in my pot of hot broth, everything was already in the pot together and brought to me. The hot pot had a very secure holder that made me feel safe from possibly getting burned by the pot itself. The broth was sour, not very spicy, but still full of flavor. Adding in the dark vinegar and chili sauce at the table further enhanced the flavor. Sure, the meat portion wasn't particularly heavy, but the whole portion was quite large and I was satisfied. N30 Beef Dry Rice Noodles: The soupless rice noodles were also delicious with a strong yet balanced tasting sauce. I had an excellent experience at Shi Miao Dao both in terms of food quality and the fast efficient service. I'm so happy we have this restaurant in the area and I'll be back. read more

We ordered the Golden Sliced Beef Tripe Rice Noodle and Chicken Rice Noodle. The Golden Sliced Beef Tripe noodle is in a soup broth that is spicy and sour. I loved the Chicken Rice Noodle Soup but it doesn't come with the normal toppings the others come with. I recommend asking for either the toppings on the side or in the bowl. I would've preferred on the side to add them in myself like the iconic pictures, but they, by default, gave it to us with everything inside. I really loved the chicken soup. Compared to the golden beef tripe one though, it is much milder. If you like that, I would definitely order it. I also loved the quail eggs and fish tofu slices that came with the golden beef brisket. Overall, it was a delicious meal. The interior is smaller but it is nicely decorated and brand new as this place opened up recently in 2024. I would probably bring my Chinese friends back here. read more

It's located about 3 miles from the Mosiac and in the same shopping center as H Mart, Popeyes, Lidl, and next to Bobapop (another new establishment). The menu consists of small plates/appetizers, various savory soup options, preset rice noodle dishes, add ons, and drinks. It's fairly short and simple. The literal translation for their name is "10 seconds". I am not sure about the meaning behind their name, but the service was quick. They clean and set the tables fast. And the food arrived quickly as well. We tried their bone broth and spicy mala soup broth and both were so flavorful and perfect for a cold and rainy day. Both soups came out in huge bowls and it was plentiful when it came to food. My only wish was for more vegetables. The noodles were smooth and silky. Their beef tripe appetizer was very good. I liked it better compare to other neighboring restaurants that sell this same dish. We also tried their shrimp balls with cheese filling appetizer and honestly it tastes like shrimp chips from the Asian grocery store but in the form of real food. I was excited to try this restaurant after seeing signs after stopping by the Bobapop next door. I guess they changed their presentation style as menu photos and previous pictures led us to believe. We were under the impression that the meat and veggies would come out individually for us to add into the hot broth ourselves (like hotpot). Instead, we received our bowls with everything already in it. Don't be fooled by the pictures, there actually weren't a lot of toppings in the soup at all. It was mostly noodles and broth. run, don't walk to this restaurant. nestled in between the popeyes & BOBApop, this tiny sit down restaurant is everything you'll want on a nice, cold day. I came here when it was hot out & I came here when it was cold....and I loved both times either way. they have a multitude of different soups that you can pick from. I believe all of them are all a beef bone broth soup base & then the flavoring is added in. if you are dining in, you'll get this giant stone pot that is bubbling, boiling hot & it'll stay hot too....for the next 45 minutes or so. my friend and I came in hungry and excited for soup as it was freezing outside. she was shocked when they brought out a huge bowl of steaming hot soup. we ate as much as we could & then they boxed up the rest for us to take home. *now I've come back after that one time & I seriously cannot get over how delicious the soups are here. I brought my daughter with me this time & the lady up front was so sweet to her. she offered her some candy from the bowl by the cash register & then offered her a cut apple (in very Asian mom fashion!). my daughter loved it & she even drank all the soup from the container. this is a fantastic establishment with delicious food. A very cool concept but it is lacking the meaningful things. As a noodle soup lover, I was hoping this would exceed some expectations. I can see how people would get confused based on the menu - it shows each bowl having small plates of each ingredients, which makes it seem like you could put it in as you choose but the bowl actually comes out with everything already in the bowl and boiling. Inside the bowl, it only has one piece of shrimp, some corn here and there, couple slices of lettuce, and a handful of beef. They do give you a good amount of noodles but I would rather have more meat and other ingredients. I got the spicy mala beef brisket, which has the numbing Szechuan feeling. I can eat spicy so the broth was decent. I just wish it had more vegetables and more than a piece of shrimp. read more

Literally translated from Mandarin as 10 seconds, I'm presuming this refers to the time it takes to place and cook various veggies and proteins into a boiling cauldron of broth to cook along with a thin rice noodle comparable to the slippery round style noodles in a Vietnamese Bun Bo Hue. With a variety of broths ranging from savory to tangy and ultra spicy, this is like an expedited individualized hotpot with premium noodles and broth with an eclectic variety of appetizers to accompany the meal. Small dining space tucked in the corner of a strip mall but one can partake in a bubble tea next door at BobaPop or make a quick grocery run at Hmart or Lidl if there is a wait. With good portions and a moderate price point, this is a welcome addition to the blossoming Asian food scene in Falls Church. read more
