Mushroom rice noodle soup with chicken
    Nadine L.

We've been here several times and normally get the original pork bone soup (delicious btw!!) but on this visit we decided to try the salmon onigiri and the mushroom rice noodle soup with chicken with the spicy pig ears. The mushroom soup and pig ears are great!! I feel like the salmon onigiri is nothing super special and you can get elsewhere for cheaper. Service is always quick and efficient!

Been meaning to try their yunnan-style hot pot for a while and finally did! Their hot pots coming piping hot and the portion is generous. I got the original beef brisket and the broth isn't too salty and clean tasting. I intend to come back to try their other soups Also, I recommend their smashed cucumber appetizer. Quite tasty and a great palate cleanser.

Food 4.5/5 Service 3.5/5 Location 4/5 Located in the shopping center of Hmart and Lidl, parking is in a lot and sometimes it can be a little difficult to find a spot close but not the worst. I've came here a few times at lunch on Sun and around noon you may need to wait a bit. Luckily it is right next to the Bobapop so you could grab some boba and wait there. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side so not great for large groups. The restaurant name Shi Miao Dao literally means in 10 sec the food would arrive, implicating fast service. But don't get your expectation up, it just a regular Chinese restaurant. The food came out nice and hot but just not in 10 sec. I've tried their golden soup N11, and other soups N1, N4 and what they had in common was a very flavorful broth. A decent amount of ingredients were thrown in but most of which are nothing special, just hot pot ingredients like quail egg, wood ear mushroom, cabbage, tofu, fishcake , choice of meat. I always kept leftover broth so reuse at home. It's that good. Deducting a star because when we asked for tea they didn't tell us that it was $4 and the tea was literally just a tea bag. Also when the restaurant first opened they gave the option to have all your ingredients outside of the soup so you could cook them yourself (see pic). Now they got rid of that feature.

I love the individual hotpot servings! The original pork bone broth and malatang broths were my favorites. The beef brisket was super tender~ The popcorn chicken (crispy & tender), pig ears, and noodle soups were delicious. The restaurant was very clean, and the owners are very friendly!

Shi Miao Dao is a pretty big chain that specializes in Yunnan-style noodles with lots of different toppings, ranging from luncheon meat to woodear mushrooms to fish balls. It's basically hotpot with rice noodles. My friend and I got dinner here last week since it's definitely noodle soup season now. The service was fast and food came out pretty quickly. N1 ORIGINAL BEEF BRISKET RICE NOODLES 原味肥牛米线 - 15.99 The noodles came out in a boiling, creamy broth. They were definitely not stingy with the toppings since I was able to enjoy 1-2 of them for every bite of noodles. The broth was savory and soothing, but a bit too salty. At the end, I wasn't able to finish all of it. Noodles soaked up the broth well, and great variety of toppings. I'd get this again because I love noodle soups, but the only caveat is that there's too much sodium. My friend downed her entire bowl plus the soup, so the sodium-level comment is definitely more subjective. Overall, solid rice noodle soup. I'd come back again.

Have been meaning to check out this hot pot place, and I am glad to have finally found some time to try the food at this restaurant. The place is relatively new, so everything inside looks pretty nice. Parking was a bit of a challenge on a weekend, especially since it's located near a corner of a busy shopping center. To start, we opted for the steamed chicken with chili oil. This cold cut chicken, doused in chili sauce and covered with sesame seeds and peanuts was good. For the hot pot, we selected the number 1 original pork bone soup, and the number 4 spicy mala soup. They came out in these nice looking hotpot bowls and it was steaming hot. For me, the value and quality of the hot pot is what I found to be real good. Will definitely return for some more more hot pot goodness!

    Cucumber, Taiwanese popcorn chicken

Came here for lunch today on a whim and we were pleasantly surprised by how good everything tasted. We ordered smashed cucumber and Taiwanese popcorn chicken as sides and they were amazing. The cucumbers were crunchy, crisp and packed with flavor. The chicken was so tender, juicy and has amazing spices on it. For the entree, I ordered the original pork bone broth with beef brisket and it came with so much inside. There were so many noodles and brisket pieces. The noodles were very good. It also includes wood ear mushrooms, one quail egg, fried tofu, and iceberg lettuce. Wish they had substituted the iceberg lettuce for Napa cabbage, because that would've made the dish even better. Excellent service here and it's very clean. Highly recommend checking out this place!

A good experience but the flavor profile is a little bland for me. So I tried their signature with the smash cucumber, sweet potato fries, and tofu. The signature noodle was okay. It was in a nice broth and the container was scalding hot. However, it's not as pictured. It comes out all pre cooked. Which is okay. The smashed cucumber was disappointing. It was not prepared with cafe and the flavor was bland. The sweet potatoes fries were probably just frozen fries with powdered sugar on top. The tofu was cold Tofu was kewpie dressing on it. The food was okay for the price but tasted only a little semi homemade. The atmosphere was also very loud. If someone talked you could hear it. Lots of arguments about parking as well. Not vegetarian friendly at all. The service was amazing though.

The quantity of noodles and other toppings on each bowl of noodles are quite generous and thus there is good value for what you pay. The noodles tasted delicious and there are different flavors that is suitable for everyone. The appetizers such as the fried chicken and spring roll were pretty good while the tofu was amazing with the silky texture and sesame sauce. The service was fast and prompt while the interior decoration was great. This location is more spacious and more generous in portion than the location in Rockville, MD.

Love to see a more casual and affordable Yunnan restaurant open in the area! Saw a lot of order Chinese folks so I could tell this place was legit and no frills. It's quite a small space, but they're super quick and efficient. We got our food like 5 minutes after ordering. We got the Smashed Cucumbers, Steamed Chicken with Chili Oil, and the Original Pork Bone Soup with Beef Brisket Rice Noodles. All were delicious and would get them all again! The appetizers were a good balance with the noodle soup since they were cold and refreshing. The noodle soup had a lot of fun stuff like corn, quail egg, mushrooms, lettuce, luncheon meat or ham?, and the rice noodles had amazing texture.

It was really delicious! We went twice and all the dishes were good. Soup noodles and dry noodles, cucumber salad and fried meat... Especially soup noodles come really quick, servers were friendly too. Definitely will go again and introduce to neighbors and friends.

I order Hot & Sour Golden Beef Brisket rice noodle soup! It was soo yummy! I love how sizzling hot it was. Also, the store is clean and staff is super nice! I enjoyed my meal. I wish they provided me the options of putting all the ingredients myself or they could do it for me. Mine came already put together on my behalf. Parking can be crowded depending on the time you come since it's in the shared H-Mart parking lot.

Loved the chicken noodle soup! They are not overly salty like Jinya Ramen. This place is a good candidate for repeat visits. However, if they have a menu that allows you to customize, I would probably come more often. For example, you can pick a soup base (chicken, fish, tomatoe, or beef), then add various protein and veggies. I would pick more veggies instead of the preset ham and quail egg. I understand that some people aren't familiar with toppings and would get lost. For those customers you should keep a handful of set combos. An additional "create your own" option would leave some room for noodle soup connoisseurs to enjoy more. I would come more often if you allow more veggies and tofu in my soup without having to pay a few dollars extra for each addition and give no credit for taking the things out I don't care to eat!

The Zajiang noodles were the star of the meal: rich, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and absolutely something I'd order again. I even took the leftover sauce home to pour over rice because it was too good to waste. The salt and pepper squid was another winner with its crispy, well-seasoned coating. My daughter only wanted plain noodles (kids ), and the staff was incredibly kind and patient with her. The plain noodles were a little gummy, but they paired nicely with the comforting bowl of soup they brought out. It's not the fanciest or cleanest restaurant, and parking takes a little patience, but when the food is this good, I don't mind one bit. The staff clearly works hard, and the delicious food speaks for itself. I just wish this place were in my neighborhood! Looking forward to coming back and working my way through more of the menu.

We were seated right away in one of the upstairs honeycomb booths for two, which honestly made the whole visit feel unique and memorable. The interior is super modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed, and the atmosphere felt very similar to the Kyuramen location in Orlando, FL. The ramen gets the job done, but the broth lacked a little depth and richness, even after adding the table seasonings. At nearly $18 a bowl, I expected a bit more flavor-wise. The interior is incredibly cute and interactive - they have wooden ornaments you can write on and "surprise bowls" where you can win free drinks or desserts. For the food, the appetizer platter is a great deal for the price and offers a nice variety. The popcorn chicken had a great Sichuan kick that I really enjoyed but wasn't overly spicy. I was really excited for the beef ramen, but it was a massive letdown. The beef itself was super tough and lacked flavor. While the broth was well balanced and clean, there simply wasn't enough of it - even though I asked to skip the corn. It feels like this place focuses a lot of energy on the interior decor, promos, and aesthetics, while the quality of the main entrees hasn't quite caught up. Because the core dish missed the mark, I don't think I'd come back.
