2.5 stars. I ordered the beef noodle soup. The broth was super bland, almost like water. Very surprising. Tried the dumplings as well. They were okay. Would not come back for any of the noodle soups.

TL;DR: decent flavors, great noodle and dumpling textures. Came here for an early dinner on the weekend and was able to grab a table. The interior is very cute and very panda forward. You can sit and grab a table with full service or order at the counter/kiosk for take-out. Service was very nice and seem like they're still getting up to speed. They didn't have any of the normal soup spoons that I am used to eating soup dumplings with, which was strange, but I was able to ask for a larger spoon to eat them with. FOOD: ~Chili oil wonton (4/5): this one didn't have the flavor I expected compared to the more traditional places I have been. The flavor of the oil is on the sweeter side with a subtle kick of the chili at the end. Tasty. The wontons were very good too. ~Wagyu Truffle Dumplings (4/5): Steamed. The truffle wasn't overpowering and the filling was flavorful. Lots of umami. It was a bit heavy for me, so could only eat 2, but my husband loved them. ~Pork Soup Dumplings (3.75/5): Could be a solid 4.25 but the wrapper ripped so easily that all the soup fell out. The soup we did get was very flavorful, as was the pork filling. Again, the wrapper texture was great. ~Dan Dan noodles (3.5/5): Noodle texture was so good, but the sauce was a little lacking. Need a little more oomph. ~Beef noodle soup (4/5): Again, noodle texture is 5/5. The soup itself felt slightly watered down and lacked that finishing note. But the beef in here was one of the best I've ever had (5/5). So soft and melt in your mouth. This place is worth a try, and with a few refinements, I think it can easily become a 5/5 spot.

Cutest dumpling restaurant. As soon as you step foot in the store there is a panda in every corner and all over their business labelling. It is a great casual hangout spot. Their menu is quite large with a variety of chinese dishes. My party tried a lot of the items and I think the stand outs were the sichaun dumplings, chicken and mushroom dumplings, snowy lava custard bun. Sichaun dan dan noodles and spicy yibin noodles a little on the oily side. Grilled chicken w/ rice dish is nothing special but comes with a lot of chicken. I especially love the concept of the drink + snack combo. Will definitely come back just to get that. Service is super friendly and fast.

This restaurant is average and I think the prices are quite reasonable! My friend and I shared the pan fried potstickers, soup dumplings, and dandan noodles. The soup dumplings were ok. My favorite dish was the dandan noodles. The noodles did not have the typical peanut butter taste and it reminded me of a mi goreng instant noodle. Service was good and I really like the cute panda decoration throughout the restaurant!

If Kungfu Panda had a dumpling restaurant.this would be it. Parking is a bit meh in this area there is street parking and lot parking near the Giant. The esthetic is pandas and modern Chinese. Upon walking in there is a giant panda statue and a panda face on the wall. On the table you can find chili oil and dumpling sauce accompanied by your dining partner an illuminating panda light. IPanda allows you to eat in or carry out. So for you introverts or people who don't like sitting with people for dinner you can order carry out. You can also place an online order via website or app. So after debate I figured I should just eat there. Thanks to the staff for accommodating me due to my indecisions and answering my random menu questions. So I probably could've ordered more items but as a solo eater I figured limit now and return to try other items. Plus I was the only one in the restaurant at the moment . Food: Cucumber salad -1st dish served.. lacked a bit of flavor very mild, it's not punchy like other cucumber salads. So if your into the mild cucumber salad as a palate cleanser this is it. If you're looking for spice add chili oil. Cereal shrimp-you ever had honey bunches of oats? What about honey walnut shrimp? Think of the flavor of honey walnut shrimp coated in honey bunches of oats . Bit sweet for me but textural shrimp was cooked well and it was nicely crunchy texture. Dumplings Truffle & Waygu - so surprise there is cheese. Which makes this dumpling have a richness. I'll be real I wasn't sure about that cause my question to the server was how truffle we talking and can you taste it. That's when she said there's cheese and she enjoys the overall flavor. It's like a fancy Philly cheesesteak not heavy on the truffle but it's present. Very thin wrapper but held up well to me cutting it in half without tearing it and having the filling separate refer to photos. No need for sauce well seasoned. Pan fried fish dumplings - a really good pan fried dumpling it was nicely crisp good bite on the wrapper and again mouthfeel was good . filling was juicy not dry. Good with and w/o chili oil or dumpling sauce. Noodles Taiwan Beef Noodle Soup- I was skeptical because the noodles looked generic possibly gummy and I was worried the soup was too salty.. and the meat chunks could make or break this soup. Nope I was wrong nice chew/bouncy do noodles good slurp factor but didn't slurp too loud . Broth nicely seasoned not heavy light enough but well salted. Beef was TENDER!! Fat was rendered well because it melted in your mouth beef shredded well it wasn't sticking to my teeth when biting in. Chinese broccoli was cooked well still crunch to bite in but soft enough where you doing feel like your eating a tree. Negative was that spork situation now I love sporks but who eats soup with a spork refer to photo. Only gripe I need a better spoon for my noodle soup. Overall a fan of iPanda I think the quality I got for the value I'm happy with especially since I've been places paid the same price and got lackluster quality. All the food came out hot and steamy. This place does dumplings well so I'm willing to go back with my family to see what they think. But Fairfax does have another Chinese dumpling place close by hopefully they keep up with the quality since they recently just opened.

iPanda Dumplings, located on the ground floor of Scout on the Circle Apartments in Fairfax, VA, is a charming panda-themed restaurant known for its handmade dumplings, especially pan-fried ones, and flavorful, chewy noodles, including Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles. We tried several dishes, including iPanda Signature Dumplings, Signature Pan-Fried Stickers, and Crystal Shrimp Dumplings -- all delicious. The garlic chili dipping sauce complemented them exceptionally well. The Taiwan Style Beef Noodle Soup had a tasty herbal tea broth and a generous portion of tender beef with a great texture. Lanzhou Beef Noodle Soup was similar to Vietnamese Pho but with a much milder flavor. We also noticed traces of MSG in the dishes, which caused a numb, tingling sensation in our mouths, although it was less intense than at other restaurants we've visited.

Panda Dumplings New spot, only about 2 months in -- and first impression is very welcoming. The space is modern, clean, and filled with panda décor. There's even a big, cute panda waving at the entrance that sets the tone right away. Started with the cucumber salad -- crunchy, refreshing, and well-balanced. Simple but done right. The Taiwanese beef noodle soup is one of their signature dishes, and it shows. The broth is flavorful, noodles have a nice bite, and the beef is well-seasoned and tender. Definitely one of the highlights. They also offer a nice selection of sauces -- soy-based with garlic, chili oil, and dipping sauces for dumplings -- all good complements to the meal. The truffle wagyu dumplings were just okay. Didn't really get much of the truffle flavor, so it didn't stand out as much as expected. Tried the pork soup dumplings, which I was told sell out often. Flavor was good, but execution needs some work. The skin was a bit too thick, and several dumplings came out already cracked, with some of the soup lost before even picking them up. Also, small detail, but no proper soup spoon -- just a small metal spoon, which made it harder to enjoy them the way they're meant to be. Service was friendly, and pricing is reasonable for what you get. Overall, a solid 4 out of 5. Good flavors, nice atmosphere, just needs a little more attention to detail on execution. #SupportLocalBusiness #DukeTheFoodGuruApproved

The food was great! The service was great and the ambiance is really mellow and calm. Not too loud which I love.

New Chinese place in town which I'm happy about! The better the competition, the better the food. I'll compare this place to Ugly Dumpling since their are some similarities. I like how they have a huge panda and panda decorations on the wall and table. We got the beef noodle soup, the dumplings, and Taiwanese porkchop. The beef noodle soup was a solid 4/5 and I like it better then the beef noodle soup at ugly dumpling. The dumplings were also 4/5 and the Taiwanese pork chop was a 3/5 because it didn't have that 5 spice OG flavors like you find in Taiwan. We got the lava dim sum bun that was good but a bit pricey. Anyways, I'm glad a place like this is here and I'll probably be back. Service was good, the bathroom had an empty soap container.

New Chinese restaurant that opened about a week ago. We tried several dishes including noodle soups and both the steamed and pan-fried dumplings. Everything was quite good. The noodle soups were flavorful and the noodles had a great chewy texture. The dumplings also tasted fresh and well made. Chili sauce tastes homemade and is quite good, has a nutty flavor. The entire restaurant is adorned colorful and of course, full of pandas. The cute light up pandas on each table are a nice touch. Tried to see another new Asian spot we can add to the rotation!

What a fun quirky restaurant with delicious handmade dumplings! When you walk in, you are greeted by a giant panda statue welcoming you in. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we sampled several items. We will have to come back to try more! Our favorite was the truffle Wagyu beef dumplings, but everything was delicious.

Very delicious! It's perfect for a family meal, but also super convenient and quick if you're dining alone. The food comes out really fast too!

The place was filling up and the ambiance reminds me of a traditional bustling noodle house - perfect for the cold snap we were experiencing at the time. We got hot and sour noodle soup, sichuan beef noodle soup, and an order of their pork soup dumplings. Portions are generous and prices are fair, it's easy to become a regular here if you live nearby. The hot and sour noodle soup is as advertised - just enough spice to complement the sour, but not overwhelm to make it feel like mala. It's served, as expected, with glass noodles, some bak choi, and some pork slices. Nothing spectacular but par for the course. The sichuan beef noodle foon soup was slight notch better. The broth gives really warm vibe and you can tell it's been brothing for a long time. Again just the right amount of spicy to make you keep slurping for more. The noodles were average, chewy, but not bouncy. Also comes with a healthy amount beef slices and bak choi. Again - a great noodle soup bowl but nothing jaw dropping. Soup dumplings were fantastic, however. The pork definitely has its own marinade and the soup is flavorful. The dumpling skin is well constructed and complemented well with the noodle soups - especially in cold weather. tldr; solid noodle soup spot, they seem to be consistent and really hits the mark when you're in a for your noodle fix. Soup dumplings are probably a must get side dish with whatever your main is

One of the highlights of the night was meeting the owner, Jason. We bonded over our shared Cantonese backgrounds and even got to meet his aunt, who was visiting from California and happened to be sitting next to us. It made the whole experience feel incredibly welcoming and personal. If you visit, definitely grab a seat at the bar. The bartenders are friendly, engaging, and really add to the experience. We were treated to a complimentary shot of Jäger with Jason and even got to sample their Lychee Pearl cocktail because the bartender had made an extra. The cocktails really stood out. Instead of masking everything with sugary juices, they use extracts and creative techniques to build balanced drinks that complement the flavors beautifully. Jason also mentioned that their cocktail specials change every month, so we already told him we'll be back regularly to see what new creations he comes up with.

Our group of five sampled a great variety from the menu, including the Hot & Numbing Tofu Skin, Crab Roe Soup Dumplings, Cucumber Salad, Lettuce Wraps, Cumin Fish, Stir-Fried Beef Tenderloin, Crispy Pork Ribs with Scallion Crisps and Mixed Grain & Purple Rice, Stir-Fried Beef with Chilies, and Kung Pao Chicken with white rice. The standout for me was the cumin fish. It was fried perfectly--crispy without being greasy--and the cumin added great flavor without overpowering the dish. The crispy pork ribs lived up to their name and had a nice kick of spice. The cucumber salad packed a serious garlic punch, which I really enjoyed. The Hot & Numbing Tofu Skin was something completely different from what I expected. It's sliced into long ribbons that resemble noodles or pasta. The flavor was excellent, although the texture took some getting used to. The only dish that fell a little short was the stir-fried beef tenderloin, which could have used a bit more seasoning. Everything else was delicious. The portions are enormous. At first the prices seemed a little high, but once the food arrived it made perfect sense. Every entrée was easily enough for two meals. One thing to keep in mind is that rice is ordered separately and isn't included with the entrées. Service was excellent throughout our meal. We arrived for lunch and didn't realize they close between lunch and dinner (lunch is served from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.). We ended up staying until about 2:45, and the staff never made us feel rushed even though they had technically closed. They greeted us promptly, took our drink orders, and gave us plenty of time to look over the menu without hovering. The restaurant is tucked away on the ground floor of an office building, so it's easy to drive right past if you aren't looking for it. Parking was plentiful, and the oversized booths comfortably fit all five of us without feeling cramped. If you're dining with a group and want to sample a variety of authentic dishes, Mama Chang is definitely worth the visit.
