Best Chinese food hotspot for north county! Everything was made fresh to order. We had hot and sour soup, Mao Pao tofu and pad Thai with chicken. Food quality and taste were both on point. This is a definite must try dine in restaurant if you like freshly made piping hot great flavored Chinese food. Mmm mmm mmm . I'm so happy I decided to try this place out. I almost went to Panda X but so glad I didn't. I got the eggplant tofu. I was so worried that the eggplant wouldn't be cooked all the way and the tofu wouldn't be fried to perfection. Well listen up. It was all that and so much more. Sauce was so delicious. This is a relatively new place for Escondido. It has only been open 5-6 months. Since we like to try new places we have it a whirl. They have food options for everyone. The veggie options are limited but they had what we liked. Hubby got the tofu kung pao with brown rice and I got the tofu orange chicken with brown rice. We split an order of veggie egg rolls. The egg rolls were nice and crisp and didn't taste greasy. They came with sweet and sour and spicy mustard sauce. Hubby enjoyed the kung pao. Being our first time here he elected to get it without any spice. I tasted it. It had a wonderful flavor. One of the better kung pao's I have tasted. My orange tofu actually tasted more like sweet and sour tofu. I love sweet and sour but was looking forward to and orange flavor. It didn't dawn on me till I am sitting her writing this that I should have asked if I had gotten the wrong order. Too late. I ate it all anyway. This is one of the few places that has an option for brown rice. It does cost extra but we don't mind. It is what we want. I wanted more veggies with my dinner and ordered a bowl of steamed veggies. They were perfectly steamed and so fresh tasting. The server kept our ice tea glasses filled. The restaurant was very clean inside. It is open and airy. The prices are reasonable. New Chinese place in town our family had to try! Big portions and great service. Cute decor and very clean. Food was served very quick and it was sooo good. I have to say this was the best honey walnut shrimp and orange chicken. Lady was super attentive and I loved their cute dishes the food and hot tea was served on. Would recommend this place for all to try! There was 4 of us and we ordered 6 plates we had 3 boxes as leftovers to go, so I recommend sharing entrees so you have a variety on your plates. 10/10 recommend read more

Newly opened on East Valley Pkwy, China Fun is a pleasant surprise. Most the menu is Cantonese fast food style dishes, with some great lunch specials that come with half fried rice and half plain chow mein noodles with your choice of a classic dish like kung pao or orange chicken for about $9-$10. We tried the Szechuan chicken and kung pao 3 flavors (beef, chicken and shrimp) and they both were really good! Not overly oily, big portion, and full of flavor. We also shared an order of xiao long bao soup dumplings- we got these having no expectations since this isn't a Shanghai or Taiwanese restaurant, but we were in for a surprise because these really impressed us! Nice thin wrappers and super juicy! They make them fresh in house. They didn't automatically bring out the vinegar, so we asked for it along with chili oil, and these were actually in line with some of the soup dumplings we've had down on Convoy. I dare say even these are the best soup dumplings in North County, but we'll have to come back again to see if they stay consistent. So happy Escondido got another great Asian restaurant! read more

After our first order (via DoorDash) I know that we will eat here again. Some items were spectacular while others were meh. Chicken Fried Rice, House Chow Mein, Hong Kong Har Gow, BBQ Pork Bun, and Beijing Beef we're all wonderful, but The Combo Platter was a miss. My only other comment is that the serving sizes are a bit smaller than I typically see from similar type restaurants. read more

But yesterday I tried this place and it was one of the best places I've been to out here . I'm definitely going back . I ordered shrimp fried rice , salt and pepper wings , and the orange chicken . It was amazing ! Definitely give it a try . I did takeout but the inside was different but cute . China Fun just opened up in Escondido, so, we thought we'd give it a try. The atmosphere as you walk in was really nice. Very open, with huge windows, natural wood furniture, and a attractive gray color. The luncheon specials were priced fantastic at $8.99 per plate. I got the Moo Goo Chicken, and he got the Kung Pao Chicken and they were DELICIOUS Definitely the BEST CHINESE FOOD IN ESCONDIDO!! I mean that. The plates were huge with a lot of food. One entrée is enough to fill one person's appetite. hey have a large menu of appetizers, Dim Sum, soups, egg foo young, rice, noodles, combo platters, kids meals, lunch specials and drinks. You may want to view their online menu before going (will save time). Food served piping hot. Unfortunately, if your are caught sitting in the breeze area of the front front door, your food will cool quickly. This probably will change as the weather gets warmer.
