In a town that has little in the way of delicious eats China Garden stands out. When I entered the restaurant I must admit my first impression was that of the typical Parker decor that seems to go hand in hand with the food. Bland and boring. I walked up to the register to place my order and the server was very polite and patient. I asked what there most popular chicken dish was and he informed me that either the Sesame Chicken or the Orange Chicken were the most popular. I ordered the Sesame Chicken, and the Mongolian Beef with a side of Egg Rolls. Both the entrées came with a side of either Lo Main Noodles, and Fried or Steamed Rice. Not bad considering each entrées was under $10. As with most Chinese places there was an ample portion size of each (enough for two of us and lunch the next day). The Sesame Chicken was surprisingly good with a hint of sweetness. The Mongolian Beef was also good. The Egg Rolls however sucked. They were cold and had probably sat around for sometime and there was nothing special about them. They were obviously just like the frozen type you get at the grocery store. Overall I will definitely be back as I'm usually in town twice a month and the food is pretty delicious. As for the rating... For Parker, easily a 4-4.5 Star restaurant. Ordered the PoPo platter AMaZING!!! Hey this is Parker Arizona... a sleepy little town based on River activities so I was pleasantly surprised with this little gem. The ambiance is tired diner but don't be mislead. We ordered the Triple Mangolian. Not true Mangolian taste but they pulled it off. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was a traditional taste.. excellent!! Is it the absolute best Chinese I have ever had...no. But is it delicious anyway? Yes! I have been here several times now and each time I am pleasantly surprised. The service has always been great. Chef does not know howTo cook good general chows(spelling?) chicken. It was in thin strips and tough and dry because it overlooks so easily in that shape. The chicken was thin and the coating was thin and very crunchy and the sauce didn't penetrate it to make that yummy gooey coating that we all love so much about this dish. The fat noodles and brown rice were good. And their raspberry tea is delicious. We told the cashier as we checked out about our disappointment in the chicken and he agreed and he said he has talked to the chef about not cutting it that way before. This restaurant is owned by a Chinese Los Angeles ex-pat. He served us, friendly and loquacious (unusual in a Chinese server). I was able to tailor my dish, which I greatly appreciate. My fried tofu with broccoli and zucchini was Szechuan hot and spicy. Sauce was so tasty! Lloyd had Ma Po Tofu and an order of Pork Lo Mein, to which he adds mustard. Five points for the quality of the food and their willingness to make dishes to order. I'm giving them 5 stars because they have good food, the place is clean, and the staff was friendly. I didn't eat there - I got take out during busy time on a Saturday night. The place was packed. The wait for my food was longer than I was quoted, but I didn't mind waiting because I know it was busy and I've worked in restaurants before and know what it's like. It was our first time trying this place-glad it has re-opened. It's always nice to have a good Chinese restaurant around. The prices were reasonable too - I got an appetizer, two different entrees plus house special fried rice and it came with steamed rice and noodles and it was under $40. It was more than enough to feed my family and we have leftovers. I got a great fortune in my fortune cookie - No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted. So true! Came to Parker, AZ from SoCal, my family for a place to eat after our day at the lake and were starting to give up on hope. All of the restaurants looked sketchy and our last options were Taco Bell and McDonald's. We saw this place and it looked like a hole in the wall, but out of desperation decided to try it out and take a chance. We are usually very picky when it comes to Chinese restaurants. We ordered the Kung Pao Shrimp and added fried tofu($2 extra), broccoli with garlic sauce, and shrimp lo-mein and added veggies ($1 extra). Each plate came with white rice or a side of lo-mein. p.s we are new vegans/some sea-gans. Anyways, everything was SO FLAVORFUL!!! Absolutely delicious. We literally licked the plate using our fingers. Our servers were extremely kind, energetic and agile! The food came out sooo fast but was definitely freshly cooked for us. Definitely going to be our go-to spot whenever we are in town! Only reason why Im a brat and gave it a 4 was because I wish there were more vegan appetizers lol! I love this place. Clean and smells great. The food is always hot and fresh. They use lots of vegetables in all their dishes and the meat is sliced thin so it's never tough or under cooked. I have been in Parker for over a year, and have never tried China Garden before. I must say it will probably be longer before I go back. the food was not good, barbecued pork looked like it was spoiled, was very tough, and had very little flavor. Egg rolls fell apart, and I am still not sure what was in them. The Mongolian seemed like it was cooked yesterday. Fried rice tasted old. Our meal was 23.85 my bill was over $35. This is Parker Arizona's only Chinese restaurant, and wow, it is really good Chinese. And I know Chinese as I married one, and my Son is half Chinese. We have visited the China Garden at least 100 times over the years when visiting the area. And we loved each time we visited. I enjoy their Fried Tofu with Mixed Vegetables. Very delicious. I also love their Chow Mien noodles and just about any other dish too. If you go before 5pm they have these combo specials that are under $10.00 easy. Taste great. This restaurant has the worst service I have ever experienced! If I could rate China Garden 0 stars I would. The waiter forgot one of our dinners. I had to go stand by the kitchen for about 5 minutes before anyone acknowleged me. The waiter finally brought the missing dinner to our table after everyone else was finished. He had quite the bad attitude, never asked if we needed refills, never came back to our table. Never brought the check. We had to stand by the register before he finally brought it. We were traveling with our kids and stopped for a bite to eat. My one year old was cranky from the ride and was crying so I decided to try to nurse him for the sake of other customers not hearing him cry. I am not exaggerating when I say every single worker there was staring at me even the cook in the kitchen was staring also the female workers who I thought might understand. I should add I was COMPLETELY COVERED UP I always wear something over I don't want people seeing anything. They weren't just stares either they were looking at me like I was doing something wrong I guess they wanted me to go do it in the car with 115 degree heat outside. Not only that I ordered the bobo platter and the sesame chicken combo the only thing that tasted good were their wontons.
