We ventured out of Pearland and came across China Han. My husband comes all the time during his lunch break and raves about their orange chicken so we thought we'd go today as a family. We ordered sweet and sour chicken and shrimp and of course the orange chicken. We were extremely satisfied with the portions, quality and taste. I am very picky about my sweet and sour shrimp but they hit the spot. Everything tastes fresh and authentic, this is important because some places taste like old oil and overly sugary but not here. I really truly appreciate the fresh veggies and delicious food. The service was great, very attentive staff and kind. The server recommended the peanut sauce with the salad and it was really good. I hate to leave a negative review for a small business but it's deserved. Picked up takeout last night. Summer rolls were over filled with watery white lettuce. No herbs. Shrimp that smelled questionable - I didn't eat it. What I was really craving was hot and sour soup and a got a big one. The only ingredients in the soup were egg, bamboo and mushroom. No tofu, black mushroom just a lot of bamboo shoots. Yuck. I didn't realize the proximity to the pho restaurant that also serves Chinese food. It's practically next door and the food is amazing. The food potions was okay you got little rice to the amount of chicken. I've never been inside, but I tried it based on some reviews I saw via Yelp! I was craving Chinese takeout, and this place had really good reviews and a decent looking menu. This place is the only place around that has salt and pepper shrimp. (I prefer salt and pepper short ribs or tofu, but shrimp is good too!) And their orange beef was a popular dish recommendation too. My boyfriend and I both the salt and pepper shrimp and orange beef to share between us. I also ordered the crab rangoons because I love me some crab rangoons. I'm not too picky on crab rangoons from where they're from, but these were pretty up there. It was creamy and deliciously sweet with the crab meat and the cream cheese. They serve a decent amount too for the price, so I say it's definitely worth it. The salt and pepper shrimp is REALLY good. The shrimp are decently big and it is very filling. Perfectly crisp and light and great with some of their fried rice. The orange beef is also a favorite of me and my boyfriends because of how sweet and saucy it is, as well as how tender the beef is. I love taking some of the sauce and putting it over the fried rice. It's absolutely delicious! This is now officially me and my boyfriend's Chinese takeout spot in the area. It was not ok. The service was great but the duck I had seemed like it was scraps from leftovers of the pecking duck. A lot of broken bones and very little "chewy meat". Pretty good food, especially for the area. We've also ordered for delivery and it's come quickly and been hot. Prices are comparable to other places nearby, possibly a little cheaper. We haven't had anything we disliked. The customer service is always good and the time they quote you is spot on. We were looking for a different place to eat and found this one on Yelp. It's a bit small but nicely appointed. The service was good. I had the General Tso's Chicken and she had the orange chicken. I liked mine. She was not as happy and liked mine better which was OK because one plate is more than either of us can eat. I didn't care for the egg-roll but I can certainly see why others would. I have been eating there for about 20 years and today the bill was $97 and 6 months ago it was about $65. the quality of the food on scale of 1 to 10 was barely a 1 (with 10 being the best) when in years past it was always a solid 10+. it was terrible the pu pu platter contained pork strips grilled to consistency of charcoal and the shrimp and chicken were 1/3 the size of previous servings. the most notable was the egg fu young which look like it had been deep fried to almost black. save your money as i am saving to spend somewhere else.... We were greeted by friendly people upon walking in, one of whom we learned was the owner himself and he happened to be the one serving us, too. I love that he is there, making a presence and serving the customers. I started with some yellowtail sashimi and the Manhattan roll, and hubby got the chicken with vegetables. Why 3 stars? Because it was an average experience. --- --- --- While visiting my parents, we decided to check out China Han, because it's located close to their house, and had really solid reviews. Unfortunately, we weren't super impressed. Nothing was really terrible, but nothing stood out as a higher quality than what you'd expect at a typical fast food Chinese restaurant. The only difference is that everything was marked up a couple of bucks from those types of places, and gratuity at the end of the bill. And don't get me wrong, I love some good Chinese fast food, but if I'm going to eat that, I'd rather get it to-go for dirt cheap. Again, nothing was bad about our experience, but it just didn't leave a huge impression on us to return. I got some kind of beef fried rice, which came with wonton soup.
