We wanted to dine it, place was empty. Person at counter seemed initially irritated by our presence and wanting to dine in. I guess they do mostly takeout. After a little while she decided she would tolerate us I suppose. She became a bit more personable. Food was good. We ordered basics. Sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken. .hot and sour soup. Spouse got white rice I got fried rice. Both decent if a little plain. Egg rolls were not great. Not enough cabbage and too much pork/mushy Tea was a little sour, like it was old. The General Tso's chicken here is really hood and good value at the price. I usually it about once a week.

First time to use doordash for food ordered from here. A friend gifted me a gift card and since this place is the closest to my home, I opted to order food from them. I got mixed fried rice, chicken lo mein, chicken pad thai, chicken curry, and Kung pao beef. I'm not happy with the overall lack of flavor on all items. And over half the fried rice is crunchy raw (a BIG NO for Asians like me). I don't don't recommend them at all. read more

Special props to specifically the fried rice, which had an enticing aroma and flavor, as well as the egg drop soup (some of the best I've ever had, perfect balance of chicken broth and egg flavor). The only gripe I have is with their lo mein, which was too sweet for me and my family's liking (almost similar to yakisoba or stir fried noodle). I compliment this restaurant on being able to create a unique palette of flavors that each have their own personality. Service: My family came late, around 8:30-9:00PM after an event. Our waitress was a bit on edge at first (which is excusable because of how late we came) but was kind and polite through the rest of our meal. Ambiance: This place isn't fancy, but it's clean and comfortable, which are two of the most important aspects of the restaurant. It serves as an adequate place to enjoy some delicious food. In summation, I would suggest trying this place out. There's a lot of very negative and positive comments about this place, but I had an enjoyable time. When comparing it to other Asian restaurants, this one is able to live up to its competition, and in some aspects even exceeds it (especially in terms of the food quality). League City, you have yourselves a mighty fine Chinese eatery. For the life of me, I don't know what took me so long to check it out. Better late than never, right? My younger brother and I ate lunch here, and we, as the only customers during the post-lunch hour lull, were impressed with the awesome quality and solid quantity of our food. We started with steamed pot stickers, which contained chewy, tasty pork filling. Then, we had the combination fried rice, Szechuan style sliced pork, and salt and pepper shrimp. All three dishes were really exquisite. I'm a huge fan of the fried rice. It was riddled with nicely cut chunks of chicken and pork. There was so much rice to where it could be its own meal. We ordered quite a few dishes, and asked for sauces on the side due to someone in our group having celiac, and we received everything we ordered with proper labels on the sauces and their corresponding dishes. All items were packed up neatly for us to take home. The cashier was nice and everything tasted good. Their black bean sauce was really good! I went in around 4:30 today and was the only customer. I literally waited 5 minutes at the register for someone to come out. I could see someone in the kitchen on their phone and another exiting out back for a smoke break. I kept calling "Hello? Hello?" and finally a man came out of the bathroom with phone in hand. I ordered and my food came out quickly. I told the "waiter" I would be ordering food to go as well. Again, I'm the only customer in there. He never ever came back to my table after delivering my food and every time I turned around to see if he was still there, his head was down as he was playing on his phone. When I walked to the register to pay I commented how I was disappointed in the service because in the 30 minutes I had eaten my meal he'd never once checked on me. The food was amazing!!!!! I am very picky with the Chinese food I eat. So I can honestly say Bao's is definitely included in my top 5 choices. This restaurant was awesome. I ordered shrimp lo mein take out. it was tasty. It was still hot when I got home. I ate until I was stuffed and woke up the next morning and ate the rest. That is just how good it was. I can't wait to try everything else on the menu. The cashier and the chef were very attentive and courteous. I think this is a new place and it sure does beat 888 Chinese which is nearby. I will be back but to sit and eat next time. I paid $9.67 including tax for the shrimp lo mein. When I go to my office they gave me fried rice that was so stail or undercooked it was too hard to even eat. When I went in for my egg roll, you guessed it, not there. Bao's is a relatively new Chinese food place in League City. I like it but I have to admit I come here more for the convenience than the food. Please allow me to explain. The food is good. I've never had anything here that I didn't like. It is also conveniently located within a mile of my house and that is why I keep coming back. In my opinion, there are other Chinese food restaurants in the area that are better tasting and a better value. However, they are not as close as this location. The portions you receive here at Bao's are not as large as you will receive at other area Chinese restaurants and personally, I like having leftovers for lunch the next day. In addition, you will pay more for these smaller portions than you will at other area Chinese restaurants. Bottom line: The food is good but the portions are smaller and slightly more expensive than their local competitors. Therefore, I give them three stars. Bon appétit. read more

They didn't bring any condiments or sauces for anything for the dinner. The gal who delivered told me she doesn't speak English but she sure knew I only gave a $4 tip! This is my third and final visit. It's a little better or a little worse than Panda Express depending on your visit. I ordered sesame chicken. The chicken was battered (like sweet and sour chicken) and had tangy orange sauce (like bad orange chicken) and 10 sesame seeds sprinkled on top. Really?! Also, this place is always understaffed. Meaning it's not unusual to find everyone in the back (kitchen?) and no employees in the main dining room. This is the first time in many uses that I have been totally disappointed in Bao's. I ordered take out with three spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken and a combination fried rice. I was told the order would be ready in 10 - 15 minutes. I arrived in 10 minutes. They took my payment and I set down to wait for my order seeing that there was one take order on the counter waiting to be picked up. I waited about 20 minutes and finally asked one of the servers if they could check on my order. They went over and looked at the order in the counter and said here is your order. This was the same guy that took my payment originally. I asked if it was still warm and he said pretty much. I got home and the spring rolls were so cold they were not appetizing and when I opened the sweet and sour chicken, there was no sweet and sour sauce. If the other comments are true about new management, Bao's will not be in business much longer. Too bad because this was a very good Chinese Resturant that went through Covid very well. We ordered delivery from Bao's for the first time last night and were pleasantly surprised! Upon calling in our order, the lady over the phone advised it would be 20-30 minutes for our food to arrive but they actually showed up in 8 minutes after we hung up the phone! Super fast, so that's nice. We ordered Mongolian chicken, Mongolian beef, spring roll, shrimp rolls, and a vegetable soup. The soup was hot and tasty, the only downside is the vegetables in it are not cut down to an edible size so it makes it harder to eat. My SO enjoyed the Mongolian beef and we enjoyed the Mongolian chicken, it was white meat which was great too. Would definitely order again from Bao's. read more

I ordered a delivery yesterday, 4/14/17. I was super excited because the reviews for this place were pretty positive. But, I beg to differ. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken, and Combination Rice. The Combination Rice was $8.95 and the General Tso's Chicken was $10.95. I was NOT pleased with the General Tso's Chicken, AT ALL. It was definetly over priced for what you get. They give you, I believe 8-9 medium sized balls of chicken. It's not the normal variations of smaller size chicken that you get from other places. The sauce was NOT the normal Gen Tso's sauce. It was super thin. The flavor of the chicken, wasn't right. Gen Tso's Chicken, is supposed to be sweet & spicy. The sauce was neither. It was more of a soy sauce taste. I've had better. Plus, if I'm paying $11 for chicken, can it please be a BIG container FULL of chicken that tastes like Gen Tso's Chicken? I better get magic powers after eating it. I've paid cheaper amounts of money, for more food. The Combination Rice was okay. It comes in a big to-go container. I was ok with the price. The taste was slightly bland. It wasn't anything special. I had a stomach turning experience at this restaurant: I urge you to stay away! Here's the story. After we were done eating My 4 year-old son decided he needed to go to the bathroom. I told him to go on and he proceeded to head towards the men's restroom. I followed behind him. Incidentally, there was a guy in the men's restroom, who forgot to lock the door, using the urinal. I went to excuse ourselves and attempted to close the door but he quickly zipped up his pants and headed out. I didn't think anything of it until I saw him head towards the kitchen! Sure enough it was the cook! This man had his hands on his private to use the bathroom, didn't wash his hands, and proceeded to the back to cook! As someone who works in the healthcare industry and has seen it all; this is utterly disgusting! I will definitely not be going back again! Who knows what else happens behind close doors! read more
