The ambience of the place was very interesting and they definitely tried to put a lot into their space. The food was good! The outside sitting area was nice and I liked how try did a good effort to take you away from the fact that this place is situated off a major highway and a major road. Guacamole was freshly made at your table, drinks tasted good, dinner tasted good as well as dessert! THE BAD. The service kind of began to lack by the time we got dessert. Once we were served dessert, our server was no where to be found to get the check and settle up for the night. The only other complaint is the pork and beans side was just ok and a couple of dishes were a bit pricier than I have gotten it elsewhere. Overall, the flavors were good and there was enough food. For the eyes and my stomach! I would go back!!!

We arrived at approximately 5:45 PM and noticed the restaurant was nearly empty, with several tables available. When we asked if we could be accommodated, we were told that the tables were reserved. We even offered to be seated at separate tables next to each other, but that option was also declined. Unfortunately, no effort was made to accommodate our group or offer an alternative solution. It was disappointing, especially since we had been looking forward to trying this restaurant for the first time. While I understand that reservations should be honored, the lack of flexibility and customer service left a negative first impression. I hope the restaurant considers improving its approach to accommodating guests whenever possible. I had better hopes visiting this establishment.

The food has a lot of potential but tasted mostly bland & were very oily. I only ordered tacos and the best one I had was probably the al pastor tacos. My service was terrible, my drinks didn't arrive until my food did 20 mins after ordering it. The drinks were decent, mostly sugary. I was charged incorrectly on my guacamole that I had to dispute and was not made aware the lengua tacos were not apart of the special which would of been appreciated. Again, this place has potential but I didn't have a great experience personally.

I was too trusting. Ordered a chicken burrito bowl with added mozzarella cheese (+$2.99 my choice) and an al pastor taco. Sour cream is listed as an ingredient in the bowl and for me, burritos feel incomplete without sour cream. I actually would not have ordered it. There was NO sour cream and a tiny sprinkle of cheese. The pulled pork was terrible. I spit it out and tossed it. And too salty (I then remembered it was last time also). I also got 4 added sad little 4 avocado slices. The overdone soggy rice made it a little less dry though. Pico de gallo was mostly onions. I CALLED the restaurant. (It was through Grubhub) and they said "yea we don't have sour cream. Sorry." But it's on your menu "yea we don't have any right now" in a really fake apologetic tone not offering any solution. A customer should be contacted if an ingredient is missing and maybe comped the cheese, or at least add extra to compensate. Did they think I would not notice?" Grub Hub chat said I'd get a refund. So we'll see. SUMMARY: Skip this place. They need to tone down the salt and attitude. Low quality pulled pork.

This vibrant culinary tapestry weaves together indigenous ingredients, European techniques, African traditions, and Asian influences to create some of the world's most exciting and diverse food experiences. For over the past two decades, these chefs have elevated traditional ingredients and techniques to new heights. We've passed this restaurant many times on a busy River Road in Fair Lawn and decided to stop in. Upon entering this warm and cozy interior without a reservation as first-timers, my partner and I managed to locate a table outside on this summer-like day. Juany's Cafe is a cozy, family-run establishment making a great impression as a place for brunch on locals and visitors. The owner is Peruvian, and the Mexican cook began in the kitchens of his homeland, known for its authentic Latin-inspired cuisine. We decided on the Latin bowl with marinated steak accompanied by black beans, sautéed veggies, avocado, and sweet plantains & Grilled Chicken Burritos with Sweet Potato Fries. Complimentary fruit salad started our meal. All ingredients were fresh, and the seasonings were unique with their bold flavors. There was a wait time for food as everything was homemade, made to order, and well presented. The prices were more than reasonable considering the quality of the food. Our server was friendly and accommodating. The service was a bit slow due to a large party group. Brunch is the norm here, but we can't wait to try it out for dinner.

It's on the top floor (or the ground level if you're coming from an outdoor parking lot) and one of several mall eateries that aren't in the food court. The ordering decision tree proceeds as follows: 1) Decide whether you want tacos, cheesy tacos (called, quesatacos) or a platter, 2) Pick your proteins (vegetarian options available), and 3) Determine which toppings and accoutrements you want on top of your tacos. The best part of ordering was seeing the fresh masa and tortilla press right behind the counter, a reassurance that these tortillas would be as fresh as one can get. And they were. Not only that, the meats inside them were incredible. We tried the birria, carne asada, crispy fish, and smoked chicken, all of which were conversation-silencing delicious. I'm also not a bit embarrassed to admit I sipped straight from the small cup of that rich consommé that's meant as a dipping broth for the birria tacos. If I had to pick a least favorite from the bunch, it would be the smoked chicken, but that's not to say they were bad; the other ones just blew me away far more. The chicken tacos were packed with tender meat and redolent of smoked wood, a flavor I wouldn't have expected to encounter in the middle of a shopping mall. Most of the restaurant space seems to be reserved for the ordering and food prep area, but there's a decently sized seating area right outside the restaurant and even more places to sit a little further away from Carlito's if the tables are full.
