We had a *bad* experience in the past (3 years ago) but if I'm being honest I forgot about it until I came to make a review because we have had it two times so far in February and both times we were pleasantly surprised. Both times we ordered quite a bit and ate buffet style - here's our thoughts on each item: Sweet and sour chicken - delicious, loved them Mongolian beef - perfect, first time we wished there were more sauce, second time there was plenty of sauce. Didn't change the taste just prefer it saucier. Had a craving for Chinese food. Went to our favorite Great China (at Publix Crossing) and they're closed on Tuesdays. I knew that this place was right across the street (Kroger plaza), so decided to try it. The food wasn't really bad, but definitely not nearly as good as G.C. Egg drop soup was thin with no flavor. Sweet & sour chicken batter was way to crusty. Shrimp fried rice was ok, just bland. The lady inside at the desk was very nice, and the food was ready quickly. I'd recommend G.C. in this area unless you need food on a Tuesday. read more

Terrible. The food is barely seasoned, and I ordered a specific size of a dish, and got the wrong size. The lady on the phone argued with me, saying it was only ever one size, and I know that's not true, as I've been there several times. As it's convenient, I have been repeatedly, but if you have bad food and get orders wrong AND argue about it... well, I won't be back. It's convenient but not good. 3rd time trying this place. First time, my brother in law ordered for takeout for our large family group. We all loved the singapore noodles. So when it was just our family, we ordered through Doordash and food was decent for chinese takeout place. I wouldn't say the best or the greatest but it does its job for quick Chinese takeout. Today, we decided to order directly from their website for pickup and cut the DoorDash incurred cost. Our total was around $60. So as I go for pick up, she tells me $62.xx which was baffling so checked my online order confirmation.. says $60.xx I asked her why is there a $2 plus charge and it's different from the online order.. then she tells me if I pay at store, I have to pay a credit card usage fee but if I pay online there is no fee. I understand they want to charge a cc fee but if a restaurant is going to do this, it should be on the payment confirmation page stating if paying by cc, there is a fee. Other Chinese restaurants establishment in the area does not do this, will not be going back here for at best average food. read more

I usually order from here every 2 weeks or so. Chinese to go food has always been pretty decent. Ordered the Cajun shrimp boil this time. Shrimp were good, if a little overdone. Potato inedible as it wasn't cooked all the way through. Ears of corn were puny. Egg, I usually pitch, not sure why it is in shrimp boil. Totally bland. Fried dumplings flavorless. Good thing they gave us a couple of fortune cookies. They charged me extra for fried rice instead of white rice, but delivered white rice. They now charge a $3.00 delivery fee, so we've reduced our $10 driver gratuity to $5. If the restaurant wants to charge me for delivery, THEY can pay their drivers. I'm not paying twice. This food is nasty, the sesame chicken was dry and just generally didn't taste good, the fried rice was nothin but old white rice with a little random sauce mixed into it. The grains were literally still sticking together like white rice does. It's hard to explain but it didn't have the texture fried rice usually has. Well I can see as to why this place has a three star rating. When I think of pan fried noodles I think small delicate rice noodles in a bird nest. Not huge Yakisoba noodles water logged under a bunch of chicken and vegetable. Needless to say I will not be back to this location. Even a little more disgusted that I paid for this. I've tried many different dishes here and it has been hit or miss. Recently I had the house stir fried noodles and it was delicious. Lots of fresh veggies, shrimp, chicken and beef. Had to update my review. At first the food was very good but the last 3 times it has deteriorated. This last time the egg drop soup was watery and bland, the gravy for the egg foo young had large pieces of what appeared to be fat, and the fried rice was dry and over cooked. Following is my original review: Currently there are only about 5 tables and take out is the primary business. It appears they are still moving in because there were open boxes in the hallway. May not look like much but the food makes up for it. We have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant in this area and this has been the best by far. We had egg drop soup, sizzling rice soup, vegetable egg foo young, shrimp lo mein, and mongolian beef. The egg foo young is easily the best we have had in the area and the mongolian beef was good and not overly sweet. Hope they make it. read more

I really wanted to like this place! It's close by where I live. The person helping us out was very nice, but they seemed a little un-prepared, perhaps because this location is still new. The prices are reasonable, and the wings were hot and delicious. Good size and the sauce was a nice flavor. Unfortunately the fried rice I got was very lack luster, and the food took a bit of time during lunch. Mongolian triple was pretty good though. I'd probably only go back for that or the wings. Overall, I would say the taste of their food is on the slightly saltier side, but a lot less sweet compared to other American Chinese type places, which I personally prefer. read more

First and last time I will ever eat at China House.I walk in at noon closer to 1 and the place only had 1 customer. The service was outstanding as the lady was really sweet and nice to my boys. However the food was horrible. This by far is the worst experience I had with a restaurant (food wise). So I ordered Beef and Broccoli, Fried Rice and, Tempura fried Shrimp. The stir fry sauce and broccoli was good but we were unable to enjoy the beef as they used cheap cuts that were very tough. Both my sons and I had a hard time chewing it. The fried rice was a joke to me as I like vegetables/ peas,carrots and eggs in mine which it had none or very fine eggs where they were not noticeable. (Just oil, soy sauce, and rice) The batter for the Tempura Shrimp was bland and under cooked, so I removed all of the batter off only to find the shrimp were not cleaned. After trying to get pass all the mishaps I ended up giving both my sons and I food to the dog. I'm hoping this was a one time deal as I've seen a few decent reviews. However I will never know as I will not be wasting $20 on food that was this bad. I posted 6 photos showing details of the food as I feel people should know what they are getting. China House just opened in Sugar Hill and we decided to stop by on a recent shopping trip. The restaurant is a bit larger than it appears from the outside and there's probably seating for about 40 people or so. Visually, it's not a whole lot to look at, looks more set up for take out than dine in, but the service is pleasant. My wife is a vegetarian so we started with the Vegetable Rolls. They were pretty bland quite honestly. Much better with the spicy mustard and soy sauce, but overall, the actual flavor of the rolls themselves was pretty bland. I went with the one of the Chef's Specials, The Triple Crown which is combination of shrimp, chicken and beef over vegetables with a brown sauce. This was completely bland and almost devoid of flavor. The meats had some flavor to them, but overall, just really not much in terms of flavor. My wife went with Vegetable Singapore Noodles and that was excellent. Lots of great flavors and definitely packs a bit of a kick. It was quite surprising that the two dishes came from the same kitchen. If it wasn't for the Vegetable entree, we would probably not return, but since that was so good, we're willing to give the rest of the menu another shot. read more

But INSTEAD he called the store and stood on the porch and constantly rung the doorbell, AFTER door was closed, he continually demanding a tip. Not too bad of a restaurant. We dug into our dinners before we even thought about taking pictures so we don't have any to post. We ordered the sweet and sour pork and sesame chicken, both with fried rice, egg rolls and spring rolls. Be sure you present the coupons on the back side of the menu or you won't get them. I didn't realize until we already placed our order that I could've gotten $5 off. Egg rolls are a consistent price with competition but one order is only one roll which is disappointing. The flavor of everything was pretty good. I will willingly eat here again. My family was pleased over all with their meal. There really aren't any other Chinese restaurants in the area that I have found and want to return to so this will probably become our go to. read more

I hate writing bad reviews but I felt obligated to share. We moved to the area over a year ago and have ordered here quite a lot! We have received a few wrong orders and orders that didn't follow directions (like no onions) which was no big deal. But yesterday was unacceptable! We ordered food for lunch. We called in at 1:06pm. The man taking our order said it would be not long. So when it was 2:00 I called. The man apologized and said they were redoing the order and it will be right out. Annoying but fine. Well 2:30 rolls around. Nothing. Call again! He apologizes and says he will call delivery guy. Says he will be right there. I tell them I need to leave at 3:00pm. He said no problem. 3:05pm. I call again. He then calls the delivery man and they yell at each other while it listening on the other line. He says he is almost there. 3:20pm I get into my car to leave my house, call and ask if I can just get a refund. As I'm pulling out of my lot, the guy pulls up. I leave $0 as a tip! I have never done this, but my husband and I both leave the house without eating lunch bc 2 and a half hours to wait for Chinese is crazy. Still wasn't going to leave a review. Until the delivery guy yelled at me!! I need to add this restaurant is 5, 10 minutes max from my house. He left twice to come to my house and why it took so long to get to my house? Maybe he had a few other orders.. but still ridiculous.. 2 and a half hours? So sad we will have to find a new place to order from. I would be okay about the wait and order from them again. Tried the China House for the first time today. I had the sesame chicken for my meal and buffalo wings for my appetizer. The wings were great. They were loaded with sauce and tasted great. The sesame chicken had a great taste to it and there was also plenty of extra sauce in the bottom of the dish to pour on my rice. As for the portion size, I would say that it was a decent size. It fed my wife and I. The price was reasonable as well. The only down side was they could have given more than one fortune cookie. read more
