I came here on a Friday to get lunch with my family and it was busy! They have great lunch specials under $10 with a choice of either getting soup, an egg roll or a beverage with your entree. We decided to get the egg drop soup and for the dishes went with Hunan chicken, garlic chicken and Kung pao chicken with the fried rice. The soup was pretty good and filling and loved the garnished green onions on top. I tried a bite out of each of the three chicken dishes and loved them all! The hunan had a nice hint of spice and the garlic chicken was also pretty flavorful. The Kung pao was also pretty tasty. I really liked how light the sauce was for each of the dishes. The fried rice was also delicious and complemented the dishes pretty well. Overall, it was a lot of food and tastes pretty good. We got our food within 15min but the wait time definitely picked up as more folks came in. There's a couple of tables for seating inside so definitely get there early to get a seat! The food is really good here. They give a good amount for a good price -- literally the best you're gonna find in the area. Did I not order correctly? The reviews are good and business was booming, but I thought the Mongolian beef and Hunan Duo were seriously lacking in flavor, with the Mongolian beef tasting a little pasty. There was a lot of fresh broccoli in the Hunan duo, which was nice, but it had very little spice when ordered medium spicy and just was not interesting. Great, fresh, quick takeout. I like that they have a ton of tofu options as well. The lunch special is a good deal since you have the entree with an option of a soda, egg roll, or soup. Hubby liked their hot and sour soup. I got the veggie egg roll which was huge but didn't have much flavor to it. I recommend getting the soup or soda instead. I got the general tso tofu. In the South, it is very hard to find old school Americanized Chinese food that reminds me of the Northeast. I can find awesome and authentic "real" Chinese food all the time. However, I sometimes want to slum it out with some good old Americanized Chinese. This place is the closest that I've found to that old school goodness. Man, this place use to be good but now they are just price gouging their customers. They use to give a decent amount of food for the money, but now they skimp on the meat and the containers are tiny compared to other places. I had not been there in a year or so and the prices have went through the roof. I went ahead and ordered the LUNCH special shrimp lo mein since I was waiting Chinese and it was $9.25 before tax!! They server lunch in a little round container that had mostly rice. The lo mein had about 4-5 small shrimp in it. Definitely NOT worth the price. Now I see why they don't put the food prices on their website!! No sane person would pay that price for standard Chinese food. I'm by no means cheap but I just don't like being taken advantage of. Not only did eastern china raise their prices significantly, they also reduced their portion sizes and the amount of meat they give. Great place if you don't mind Americanized Chinese food (think Panda Express but not franchised up). Located in the Publix shopping center on the intersection of Peachtree Industrial and McGinnis Ferry road, lies this little Chinese take out place. Now if does have seating to dine in, but it's rather limited and this place is more known for it take out options. The menu here is just like any other fast food Chinese place so don't expect anything new here. They have great lunch deals where you choose an entree from their lunch menu that comes with fried rice and soup or egg roll. They give decent amounts so you'll definitely be satisfied with what you get portion wise. The food is average to say the least, but it gets the job done. Overall, I'll keep this one short, it's great for a quick satisfying meal, especially if you don't mind Americanized Chinese food. Those who prefer authentic Chinese cuisine will probably not like this place, for those who don't mind it's a pretty good option in my opinion. Definitely worth a try if your interested. As someone that frequently orders Chinese, I have been looking for a go to spot on the Northside. We have literally tried all of the ones in the area but all have been a miss. I went searching for a spot with taste, cleanliness, and customer service and saw the reviews for Eastern. It lives up to the hype. There is no inside seating. I ordered inside to take a look at the place and they have had all A's on their health scores. There is a microphone you order through. Not many people in the place at once, but there was traffic in and out which is a great sign. The customer service was welcomeing, convenient , and very nice. Even 30 minutes before closing they took our order with a smile. We ordered the General tso, Szechuan chicken, sesame chicken, and shrimp fried rice combination dinners. All of the staple US Chinese in which you would judge a spot, right? The chicken was fresh and well seasoned. The portions were perfect. The sauce was the right amount and just spicy enough on the general and the Szechuan. The fried rice was the best I have had since visiting New York a couple years ago! Well seasoned and not bland like the others in the area. This place reminds me of the spots I grew up with on the Southside or even in Snellville.
