This is the best Chinese place in my opinion, because they have good food and their price is great. It's worth the money just to go there and eat. They deliver and if don't like the buffet they have you can choose to dine in. It is better than other Chinese places in st Charles. read more

I have visited this restaurant periodically over the last several years. It started out nicely but has taken a turn for the worse. It has a typical selection of Mericanized Chinese food. Quality is usually good for the reasonable price. However, the last two visits have changed my outlook on the establishment. I purposefully did not read the reviews so as to not influence my review. We entered the restaurant at 6:00, well before the closing time of 10:00 pm. If you could picture Charlie Brown's Christmas tree only in Chinese food, then you would have a good idea where I'm headed. No less than 7 items were sitting empty, or with crumbs or maybe a single piece of the item. It did not improve the entire visit. Dessert bar was just as inspiring. When we asked if they were bringing more of an item out, they would answer in a typical non confrontational (read I'll say anything just to get you on your way) manner, yes we're bringing more out. They probably eventually did but most of the empty or nearly empty trays stayed so. I asked what about the other items, she asked if I was going to eat all of those. No really, she in a really snarky tone asked me. I said, well I don't know exactly I thought that was the purpose of the buffet style, to try a variety of items. I get it, lots of waste in this style of dining and I get trying to minimize waste to cut costs. I regret to say they have minimized one thing for sure, my patronage. Food is good if getting fresh but lunch food left way too long at buffet and have same foods day after day with no change up. If eat there only every once on awhile thats fine but eating there regularly becomes boring with menu never changing at the buffet. But food is delicious! read more

I used to come here once a week back when I worked in the area. It was always a nice clean place with really good good for cheap. 7 years later I found myself in the old neighborhood and things have changed. The seats are patched with duct tape. The staff is nowhere to be found. The food is somehow both burnt and cold. Everything tasted off. I seriously suspect that I will become ill in the next 24 hours. I ordered take out on Friday, Brian the delivery guy FORGED over my signed receipt and added $5 EXTRA to his tip. I wouldn't be in such a tizzy if the food already hadn't had to be at least $13 before tax, making me have to get more food. I didn't even eat half of my entree or the extra food I had to get because it was SO NASTY. Very disappointed with this experience and the fact they allow these illegal actions go on at their store. Also, the manager won't contact me for another 2 days. So I can't even talk to someone besides the check out girl until another few days. ZERO STARS Never come here and NEVER do delivery. read more

Went here for my daughters bday dinner. Got there around 4pm and we were the only people there, which was fine, but you could tell the food was left over from lunch... not very appealing and fresh looking. Some of the food wasnt very warm either. I probably wont go back or refer this place to friends. read more

I wasn't super thrilled with this place...maybe I've been jaded by the amazingness that is Emperor's Palace Buffet in Chesterfield or something because coming here wasn't anything special. But then again, the reason why I ended up at China King was due to my boyfriend wanting to meet up with some old friends. He used to live in the area and apparently frequented China King quite often so it was more for nostalgia's sake. The food isn't bad by any means but I felt like was "wasting" my calories there, if that makes any sense at all. They do have pretty good hot tea though, randomly enough. Pretty much any seafood dish at the buffet was a hit for me, as well as the general tso's chicken. The egg drop soup tasted nasty as all get-out, and the fried rice wasn't anything to write home about. I took a bite out of something fried that had cream cheese in it, and it was....gross, to put it bluntly. The "sushi" they had there (at a Chinese place?) was balls-to-the-wall dried out. Avoid that, haha. Also, oddly enough, they have a pretty decent selection of ice cream. I think there were about 7 different flavors or so in the freezer? Buffets make me paranoid because I have no idea who has touched what, or how long the food has been sitting out for, but everything looked pretty fresh here, just nothing special. Bottom line...if you're hungry, strapped for cash, and love salty Chinese food without the wait, go to China King. I haven't tried their delivery so I can't attest to that. read more

Had the sweet and sour chicken. Chicken was way over cooked and dry, and the sauce tasted like there was vinegar in it - not something I've ever experienced before. Egg roll was all cabbage and no pork. Serving portion was huge (too much for a completely empty stomach), but the food wasn't worth the effort of asking for a box. We used to order from them on a regular bases, its right down the street. In the past year something has happened. Orders are always wrong food is old, and they always charge us for stuff we didn't get. Then they send the receipt to you in Chinese , so we cant read it. Last night I begged to please make sure our order was right. It came an hour and a half later . It smelled awful. The rice was so hard we had to throw it away. Some of the order was missing, when I called to inquire about this. She told me that if my order would have been right it would have cost me $2.00 more. I STILL DONT KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS. I just told them we cant do business with them anymore and hung up the phone. SO DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. read more
