I have been ordering the same thing from here for about 5 years. The last few times the food has been a little off. Tonight all 6 pieces of the egg foo young were burnt. I tried picking off what I could but ended up just throwing it away. I wasn't going to say anything until I noticed I was charged a credit card fee when I paid with cash. The dining room is now open since my last review. Just before noon on a weekday I ordered at the counter and my fried rice came out in less than five minutes. It seemed quicker than fast food. Just ordered a TON of food from 88 China. Want to share our take on our food experience. Ordered: Roasted Pork Egg Rolls Crab Rangoon Chicken Fried Rice Beef Lo Mein General TSO's chicken Vegetable Egg Foo-Yung Egg Rolls - I'm a bit picky and these are good but I did taste a bit of a fish undertone (fish sauce?) that I don't really care for. Crab Rangoon - stuffed very well. Really enjoyed these! Chicken Fried Rice - strong 'fishy' taste and suttle smell of fish. Again, assuming fish sauce was added and I don' t care for that at all when I'm eating a land-dwelling protein. Beef Lo Mein - good! General TSO's chicken - good! Just hate to see it's listed as a Specialty dish, which costs more, when other restaurants list this under their Poultry/Chicken dishes. Egg Foo- Yung - Did not try this and have not heard comments about this one, yet. Hope these comments help however, delectable cuisine is in the pallet of the beholder so, Bon Appetite! read more

Worst Chinese food ever, anywhere! Their chicken is just about the texture of stringy concrete. Don't bother getting garlic chicken or shrimp. Absolutely no flavor. Not a hint of garlic. They said they saw crickets in the restaurant. The interior of the restaurant looks worn down, eroded and is in desperate need of tile replacement on the floor and ceiling. Ewww no. Don't go here! The rice is hard and gross. The meat is greasy, tough, and flavorless. "Spicy" things have zero spice. Egg rolls were all crust. There was barely any filling in the middle. This visit was interesting because there was a customer in front of me who while placing his order kindly asked if they could avoid letting the egg rolls sit in the grease in the wax paper, because they get a little soggy. Driving through Wentzville at dinner time and my daughter wanted Chinese. We do not live In the area, but saw Panda Express, line was out of the parking lot. We saw 88 China across the lot. I always check Yelp and was concerned with the reviews but figured we would try it. First impression when we walked in, bad. Floor tiles chipping up and dirty, dirty furniture upside down shoved in the corner. Walls and ceiling tiles stained. But we still ordered. General Tso chicken combo with lo Mein and egg roll, and chicken lo mein with steamed dumplings. I can say the food was hot. The general Tso chicken was good, flavor, good amount of chicken not all breading. Lo mein noodles were very good as well but the celery in them had a strange flavor. Dumplings very good. Egg roll left an almost light chemical aftertaste, not sure what type of oil they used. Overall the food was pretty good, the only thing that would keep me from going back and trying again would be the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. read more

I travel a ton and I always hit exit 208 on I70 to stop in Wentzville(right outside St. Louis) for 88 China. The food is some of the tastiest Chinese I've had. I'm holding out on that last star because they really need to give the place a good cleaning. Otherwise, they have good vegetarian options and the price should fit anyone's budget. read more

This place is FILTHY! Too bad we noticed it after we had ordered.The possibly asbestos tiles on floor are chipping and crumbling. The tables and chairs rusted and gross! The mean lady at the counter rolled her eyes at me a couple times because I couldn't understand her English. She was gruff. The Egg Drop soup Nazi maybe?
