Great for take out - lots of food, fairly inexpensive. Has a buffet but I don't recommend it. Good take out but not so good for eat-in.

I have yet to to get something I'm unhappy with, and I've been going there for three years. It's very authentic, and why is that? Because the owners are actually Chinese and not Korean as are most of the other purveyors of Chinese food. The wife's mother-in-law came to visit them from her home in China. She got bored staying at the house, so now she's at the restaurant, too. It's good food, done quickly and since it's right next door to Wal-Mart, it's really convenient, too. And like Pinche I. said, it's better for take out rather than dine in. I go place my order in China Wok, and then go get the few things I need at Wal-Mart. Take the WM goodies to the car, then go get already prepared dinner at China Wok. It's a win-win!!

It's the only Chinese restaurant that had General Tso's chicken and that's my favorite. Decided to give them a try and we are glad we did. Food was made to order, came out quick, was hot even after driving home and was delicious! Many reviews said small portions but for us that was not the case. I ate until I wanted to bust and still didn't finish it all. This will be our go to for Chinese cravings while in Arcadia.

-The best buffet in Highlands Cty!-…read more It's been around for over 13 years! Made it through the pandemic and always busy even in this tough economy. It's the Energizer Bunny of buffets! Arriving- They are in a huge plaza northbound on US Rute 27. Turn in when you see the MickyD's in front of it. Parking is a snap. Ambience- Way, way nicer than most casual buffets. Fancy lighting. There is an actual Koi pond with an ornamental bridge the kiddos will love. It's a big place with both booths and tables. Clean Men's restroom. I didn't check the Ladie's room because I wanted to avoid the screaming that would ensue! Casual dress or less is just fine. Customer Service- They bring your drinks and clear the plates. I've never had a problem, and they bring your check quickly. Pricing- Weekday lunch is around $15. Dinner is about $2 more. Dinner prices all day on Sunday. Extra seafood on Friday & Saturday nights. There is a small Senior Discount and special prices for the munchkins. There is a counter when you walk in, where you can pay before you are seated. I've never done that! I pay the server when I'm done and that's also just fine. Pro Tip #1- They do offer a full menu instead of the buffet and after dozens of visits, I've never noticed anyone ordering from it! Pro Tip #2- If your party is 6 or more, they are happy to make a reservation. Trust me and do it. Food- Eight buffet tables in the center of the room and a Sushi table and Hibachi Station along one wall. Over 100 choices. They have hand-dipped ice cream for dessert that is very popular. Pro Tip #3- The sushi table is very generic and that's not why you come here. The same is true of the few American items. Come here for Chinese food! Be a smart buffet patron and make your first trip a sampler plate. Go back for the selections you like best. 100 items will satisfy just about everyone. There is nothing fancy here. This is solid Chinese food, and you've seen most everything at other places. That's not a bad thing! Occasionally, one of my selections is not as hot as I would like but that is rare. Conclusion- I've been dozens of times as a single, couple, and in groups up to 12 folks and never had a bad time.

The food was clearly freshly prepared some adequate, some good some very good. The best part for me was the Huge Hibachi grill in the back. You get to select from a variety of freshly cut vegetables and a variety of proteins. I had mine prepare with a combination of Mongolian and Pepper sauces and it was quite good. I am definitely disappointed that like other places in town, they don't have fried rice. They have yellow rice, but not real fried rice. The service was very good, my drink was quickly filled when it got low. The tables are spaced out well and it wasn't loud despite there being a lot of diners including children. Can't say I will go her regularly but they have a selection of foods for everyone and you won't leave hungry.

Our party of 3 was seated at a comfortable booth and our request for oolong tea and iced water was quickly filled. The menu is extensive but we had no problem choosing. Who could not resist the colorful dim sum platter which looked like a bouquet of flowers served in a traditional bamboo steamer? The exquisitely prepared dumplings tasted as good as they looked. My mother relished her bowl of shrimp wonton soup. The wontons were so large that she cut them into bite-sized portions on a small plate! She also ordered the vegetable fried rice which was impressive, filled with very fresh pieces of broccoli and other veggies. My sister had the bowl of seafood tom yum soup and loved it. With medium spice, it was perfect for her taste. The bowl is huge so expect to take half of it home! I've always been interested in Singapore noodles so that is what I ordered, and was not disappointed. The shrimp were plentiful and the medium-spiced curry sauce was delightful. Thanks to generous portions, all 3 of us will be enjoying leftovers the next day. Do yourself a favor and come out for this restaurant. If you like fresh, excellently prepared Cantonese-style food that is beautifully presented by a helpful staff, and that is a good value for the money, you need to treat yourself to a meal here at Ginger Dim Sum. We'll be coming back.

Then we had the string bean with X.O. sauce, tasty and satisfying, but the combo BBQ with roast duck was the star; the spare rib was good too. I wanted to get the pork belly, but it was sold out. I'd definitely come back when I'm in this part of Florida again.
