Probably the worst Chinese food I've had. Ordered the honey coconut shrimp, the breading was bigger than the shrimp. The rice and lo mein had no seasoning. The crab Rangoon was nasty. It taste like they added a ball of cream cheese with a little imitation crab and deep fried it. The ragoon was not creamy or seasoned. The potstickers we're also awful. This is one of the best take-out restaurants in town, very close to JJC. The food is delicious and the service is excellent unlike other restaurants in town. My boyfriend has been going here for years for lunch since it was down the street from his job. He LOVES it. He always gets the spicy shrimp or spicy beef and string beans. The lunch specials are huge, and you can get them all day for an extra 1.50 after 3pm. What a deal. I recently just tried this place. I fell in love too! Got the pan fried noodles with vegetables. Huge portion, tasted amazing and was piping hot!! I definitely won't go anywhere else but here from now on. Good job China kitchen. Great Chinese food and service!! read more

It really makes a difference on leaving honest reviews. I personally go to customer reviews on every place that I go. This review is on China kitchen in Joliet Illinois. JoAnn told me that she's the manager. My family and I ordered food from China kitchen and delivered by Grubhub. We ordered orange chicken and general tso chicken. Rice and extra chicken. Chicken was hard and dry on the ends. Very bland. Soggy as if it was microwaved. If I'm paying 30.00 to eat somewhere I expect fresh food like it says on the menu. This wasn't fresh at all. Rice was stuck together. So I called the restaurant and there wasn't a manager there. They had to call her and she then returned our phone call. JoAnn the manager told us to Grubhub and gave Grubhub give her a call back and we did as she asked and Grubhub called us back and said she wasn't offering anything back. I told joAnn that we only took one bite of the food and would gladly return it but she could care less. She got her money and that was all she was worried about. Customers are what makes or breaks a business JoAnn. Grubhub gave us a 10 coupon and they didn't do anything wrong. Your business will eventually go down when your customers mean nothing. If I ate your food I will gladly pay for it but if it's not edible then I shouldn't be paying for it and you shouldn't be keeping our money if we couldn't eat your old food. This place needs to be checked to see what they are actually serving the public. We eat Chinese food all the time and there are many times I'm not truly satisfied with the food but i dealt with it. That was food that wasn't edible It's truly scary to know that they will serve food like that to anyone. read more

Pork was not good quality in the pork lo mein, though the dish was tasty, the pork was chewy. Years ago when I attended JJC I would stop in and grab $1 egg rolls that were huge. The other day I tried 3 different rolls and I was disappointed by the size and the flavor/quality. I think they changed owners about 8 to 10 years ago when I used to stop in. I was in the area to visit the Social Security office and get the ball rolling on changing my last name (I just got married). After a nightmarish wait, I was starving for a hearty lunch. I saw that China Kitchen had good Yelp reviews, so I quickly placed an order online (I LOVE when restaurants offer that feature) and my food was ready by the time I drove from the Social Security office to the restaurant. I had the egg foo young lunch special with mixed proteins and it was delicious. The patties were nice and fluffy and not greasy at all, a fate that befalls far too many egg foo youngs. First time ordering from here. Choose delivery and it took over an hour to deliver when we live very close by. Food was absolutely terrible. I'm not even sure what we were given. We have ordered from them twice. The first time, the food was ok but was an hour late and the special instructions were ignored. We ordered from them last night, on a Tuesday, through Grub Hub. I was, again, an hour late. We ordered a tofu dish, made specific instructions to make sure it was meat-free as my son is vegetarian. We called and they several times tried to talk us into a credit. After another 2 hour wait, still no food. Finally, more than hours after we ordered, we got the food. This place is down the street from my house. I have order from here often and I am never disappointed. Their specials are cheap and come with rice/noodles and an egg roll. They have online ordering which I love. I've never had a bad experience here. Tip: they only have a couple of tables and no bathroom so it's more of a carry out place - but it's great :) read more

I have ordered carry out from here at least 10 times and they have never disappointed. The food is always hot, plentiful, and ready when they say it will be. I have even ordered custom dishes (for example, hunan chicken with all the vegetables, not just the ones it normally comes with) and they always get the order spot on. They charge an extra $1.25 to order the lunch special outside of lunch hours (which I cannot recall right now) but to me it's still well worth it, because for about $6.50 you get a very good sized entree, fried or steamed rice and an egg roll. Their egg rolls are close to the best I've ever had also. I usually end up eating half of the meal and eating the second half the next day. Eats well for left overs! Their honey coconut shrimp is crazy amazing, one of our new favorites. Their sauces are always tasty and their portions are always great for the price. My boys get excited when we get Chinese food, too. I, myself, am Asian and have eaten Chinese food all of my life. This is by far the best place I've ever eaten from. Their pan-fried noodles and fried rices are great, too. Also, don't pass on their chicken pot stickers. The flavor is incredible! They also have a couple of different egg rolls.
