I've always wanted to try Spring and finally made it here when I visited with a girl friend for the annual birthday lunch...Alex and team knocked it out! The dining area is long and narrow with vaulted ceilings, very high end Chinese decor mixed with a modern contemporary vibe in the lighting and the furnishings. You turn down the lights and it's definitely a date night type of place. The service was phenomenal from beginning to end. Alex took care of us from walking in all the way to dessert He was witty, funny and took the extra time to explain the intricacies of the dishes we inquired about. The experience was phenomenal lead by him and backed up by the kitchen and the rest of the team. He talked us into the duck special which came with duck soup, salt-n-pepper duck and whole duck carved at the table by Alex. Duck Soup - Delicious and savory broth. The cuts were tender and delicious. The best I've had in a long time. Salt N Pepper Duck - A crispy duck dish I've never had before. Good times. Guo Bao Pork - Creative, delicious and I understand why this is a feature dish. Green Beans - Perfect veggie pairing for all this food. The portions were so generous and I had 3 containers of food to take home for dinner. I appreciated the birthday dessert at lunch to finish off the experience. Well, that was a fantastic first visit. We visited Spring by China Mama to wrap up EDC weekend. Overall this was filling and a satisfying meal, with some standout dishes and other ones that were more mediocre. Our favorite dishes were the Sizzling Beef in Black Pepper Sauce, Braised Sea Bass Clay Pot, Chili Fish Soup, and Green Beans. The duck was decent, but a but gamier and less oily and juicy than most of us were used to. We had higher expectations for the Sliced Beef and Ox Tongue in chili sauce. This is a cold appetizer which was fine, but did not have the depth of spice or aromatics that we were hoping for. Unfortunately the crispy beef wasn't great in our opinion and reminded me personally of the meat quality at Panda Express. Maybe this dish was meant to cater more to the Western palate. Service was relatively quick, including our duck being sliced up. The interior is elaborately decorated which surprised me as the building appears to be quite simple from the outside. Had dinner here with a group of seven and overall it was a great experience. We ordered a little bit of everything: combination chow mein, orange chicken, soup dumplings, beef and broccoli, wontons, vegetable and fish soup with shrimp, fried corn shrimp, Mongolian beef, fried calamari, shrimp spring rolls, and honey walnut shrimp. Every dish was flavorful and well prepared, and there honestly wasn't anything we disliked. The soup dumplings, Mongolian beef, honey walnut shrimp, and orange chicken were standouts, but the entire spread was solid. We reserved a private room, which was a nice touch. It was a little tight for seven people, but having our own space made the dinner more enjoyable. The room required a $250 minimum spend, which was easy to reach with a group our size. The service was excellent. The servers were attentive, funny, and had great personalities that added to the experience. The bill came to about $340 for seven people, which felt very reasonable considering the amount of food we ordered. One thing to note is that different China Mama locations may offer different menu items, so experiences can vary slightly. Overall, great food, great service, and great value. I wanted to go out for my birthday this year so I could just enjoy everyone instead of cook and clean up like I normally do. It took me a bit to decide a good spot that could seat a large party, be somewhat casual,but still nice enough to feel special, and had great food that was friendly to most people's budgets. I finally decided spring by China mama would be the best option. They have a side room for up to 14 people so you can have a bit more of a private special party. The minimum spend for that room is 400, which seemed reasonable for me with how many people it can seat. They had the space ready for us even though we got there a bit early, and were attentive to our needs throughout the night even though we were in a separate space and could have been forgotten. We ordered a good deal of food for the table to share and after tax and tip it was only like 49 a person. Considering how amazing everything was, and that we all left full, I felt that was really reasonable. The orange chicken and Walnut prawns got decimated the fastest, and we ordered seconds of those. The pot stickers were amazing as always. The kung pao scallops were something I had not had before and were full of flavor and nicely sized, not like the tiny little scallops that go on sushi rolls sometimes. The sliced roast duck was tender, and we got extra wraps since the amount they provided were emptied before we finished half of the meat. Green beans are always my favorite side here, cooking it at a heat the blisters them just right and a sauce that makes them tasty alone, but doesn't overpower the main dishes. Overall I was very happy with my birthday and everyone was raving about how good the food and experience was. The only caviat was that especially the further in the room you got, it was much hotter than the main restaurant. I don't think that room has its own vent, and I feel especially in the summer months it would really help make it more comfortable. read more

I was very impressed with China Mama so I came in expecting big things for Spring. Especially for the duck, I was hoping this would be the best Chinese style duck in Vegas. Unfortunately the duck fell very flat. As I understand it, it's supposed to be like a Chinese roast duck done Peking duck style -- crispy, served boneless with green onions, wrapper and plum sauce. What we were served, although the pics look amazing I admit, was completely devoid of flavor. It had neither the savoriness of a Chinese roast duck, nor the crispy skin of a Peking duck. I usually never use plum sauce or duck sauce, there's usually so much flavor you don't need it. But I had to not only use plum sauce on every bite, but soy sauce as well, since there was literally no salt. Chinese food with no salt? I don't know if they just messed up this one duck and didn't season it, or if this is the norm. But at $88 for the plate, to be one of the worst ducks I've had at a Vegas Chinese restaurant (there's so many good places here) it's somewhat of a travesty. To make matters worse the knife our server used was one of those cheap $5 cleavers you get from Chinatown -- I have 2 of them at home. They're great for cutting fruit or vegetables, but for table side service duck? Absolutely not. What results is a very jagged, serrated type cut, not sophisticated at all for what's supposed to be the feature dish. The closest thing I could compare it to was chicken breast -- that's right. No flavor, lean, no seasoning, no unctuousness, no juiciness, no crispy skin. The duck, especially at that price deserves a 2. We could have ordered 3-4 other dishes for that cost. The best dish was the king prawn, it's like a clear, sweet and sour fried prawn dish. Loved it. All other dishes were mid level, nothing standout. The soup dumplings were stuck to the parchment paper, so you couldn't pick one up without all the juice spilling out. The steamed rice and cucumber salad were actually amongst the best things, which obviously should not be outshining the entrees. Friendly service and nice decor. I'd still go back to China mama but sadly Spring gets the infamous "first and last" for me. I'm giving it 3 stars to be nice, since they are nice, but it is seriously flirting with a 2 considering the price and what they market themselves to be. Good Chinese cuisine off of the strip. Their marketing department has covered their bases on social media and local TV morning shows. Came in for dinner on a Sunday night around 8 PM and it wasn't too busy. Didn't really need my reservation. Clean and modern dining area with tasteful decorations Service was professional and attentive. Employees were definitely trained to cater to western clientele. The star of the show is supposed to be the sliced duck. The taste was good and it was nicely presented. The standard order comes with six ultra thin wrappers. This particular location is relatively small and to accommodate 10 of us several tables were moved together to make it work. The staff is nice and the restaurant was clean. My coworkers and I came for lunch. We had made a reservation but it wasn't needed. We were greeted by Homer who is a busser and he was so friendly and seated us. We saw him throughout our meal and was great. I really love how the place is decorated. The elegant decor really elevates the dining experience. Alex was our server and he is everything great service is about. He's attentive and we had nice conversations with him. We tried the Wonton in Szechuan Pepper Sauce and now I must get it every time. The dumpling mixture has pork, garlic and other goodness and is perfect with the sauce which has a little kick, topped with peanuts. We also had the Pork Soup Dumplings which is another favorite. The pork and broth are heaven. We of course had the Crispy Beef which is my absolute favorite. The beef with the caramelized flavor is so delicious. My coworkers favorite is the Lamb Chop in Black Pepper Sauce, which I tried and I can see why she likes it. The meat is so tender and the sauce is a peppery, savory one with the outside having a slight crisp. If you like lamb, you need to try this. Our other coworker got the orange chicken which to me is the best I've had. We wanted to order a rice but wasn't sure which and Alex suggested the Dried Scallop Egg White Fried Rice which was amazing. This rice dish was light and fluffy, if that makes sense. I was supposed to go have dinner at Spring by China Mama. I was really excited since I'm a longtime fan of China Mama food and I've heard how beautiful Spring is. Of course I would get sick and not be able to go. I'll have to see the beautiful decor on another day. I was determined to have their cuisine though. Tonight Uber Eats will come to my rescue. I anxiously watched my phone and followed the little car drive through town to my house. Anticipating the Mabo tofu and Eggplant over steaming hot rice. I also ordered the Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings for my husband. They looked and smelled heavenly. He said they were fantastic! I couldn't eat them because of an allergy. The Mabo Tofu was every bit as good as I remember it being and the Yu Xiang Eggplant is amazing. The only one thing that is important to know is that you have to order a steamed rice. China Mama may be the only Chinese restaurant in the world that doesn't give you steamed rice with mapo tofu. It is very spicy and impossible to eat without. Nobody eats mapo tofu without rice unless you're from space or something. They say chili peppers have capsaicin in them. Between that and getting to eat such good food made my pain a little less. Really enjoyed the food here, which was not only really good but was also quite plentiful. My friend who ordered the Dry Pepper Chicken really liked it. Everything else on the receipt was what the other two of us ordered, and we found all of it to be super tasty. The "Spring" meal for two which shows as "Couple Set" on the receipt had a great presentation. I tried to learn how to make the 'burrito'/springwrap, but the pro who made the first two for us was waaaay better at it than I was. Mine might not have looked great, but it tasted delicious. We also really liked the Wonton and WoodEar appetizers we got; we left absolutely stuffed and had quite a bit of leftovers to take back to the hotel as well. A little pricy but youre paying for the ambiance for sure. China Mama is definitely a popular spot in Vegas. Spring by China Mama offers a separate menu from their OG, where they highlight 'spring wraps' that originated from northern China. Their set menu for those come with an egg dish, a protein, 2 bowls of soup, and a side. You're supposed to combine these ingredients together into a wrapper and eat it whole. I personally did enjoy their spring wraps more than the other, it comes in 'pairs' so a pair of 4 actually gives you 8 sheets total. I also quite liked their crispy beef and biased sea bass claypot! A bit small in portion but was good food. I liked their location more than the one in Shanghai Plaza. Apparently own by different people despite the same name. read more

We love Peking Duck and has been searching for a place in Vegas. Decided to try this new spot. Location: Out near Fontainbleu Casino. In a strip mall. Plenty of parking. Inside: One of the nicer interiors and several private room options. Nice setup for special dinners and celebrations. Food: We came the Peking Duck, so only ordered 2 appetizers (marinated cucumber salad and wood ear mushrooms). Both were very generous portions and tasty. We ordered a whole Peking Duck for $88. It comes with soup and option for duck parts (1) Duck fried rice, (2) Duck noodles or (3) fried duck bones. Definitely do #3, so tasty and flavorful! The Duck is carved table side. A smaller duck that's perfect for 2 people. The carving was solid but not perfect (ie not clean skin only). You get condiments but no sugar. The hoisin sauce is also house made, milder and more liquidy than standard sauce. Not sure that was a plus. We ask for sugar to eat with just the skin (Beijing style is the best)! Duck meat was moist and flavorful. Skin was crispy. So far, best Peking Duck we've had in Vegas yet. Will be back. read more

The lamb and eggplant arrived first in just 5 minutes. The lamb is thinly sliced and seasoned well. The eggplant is super tender. Unfortunately, neither of the dishes were spicy as advertised. They didn't even feel mild. A few pieces of lamb were pretty tough. The duck and rice came after another few minutes. The rice looks like purple rice, and they gave us a ton. The duck wraps were by far my favorite dish. It tasted really good and I liked the thin wrapper style. The passion fruit mousse only had passion fruit on top. It was almost like a layer of jello.
