How have I not been here before?! We came in Sunday for lunch around 11:30 so it wasnt that busy yet. I think one of the bessstrr mapo tofus Ive ever had. Makes you eat so much rice so you know it was flavorful. I usually dont eat Lamb cuz of the gamey-ness of it but this was so cooked and seasoned well. Definitely very homey food and great to share with the family!

This is my old stomping grounds. There was a time this spot had a line outside and was the most popular place to go. I visited here recently again because I was craving their boiled spicy beef dish. I was a bit, surprised that there was no way in a lot of tables were available. They've really changed the interior completely and remodeled inside. Now they have more comfortable booths that you can sit in. The food was amazing, JUST LIKE HOW I remembered. I think chengdu taste hands down does the best CUMIN LAMB in town. It just doesn't taste the same anywhere else and I'll be coming back for more.

If you're craving legit Sichuan food, this place delivers. Everything we tried was packed with flavor and that signature numbing kick you want from a proper Sichuan food. Ambiance is nice. Felt like I've stepped into a spot straight out of Chengdu. The stir fry cabbage is hands down one of the best versions I've ever had. The wok hei hits you right away. You can tell it was cooked fast and hot. Simple dish, but absolutely bursting with flavor. The suan cai yu was phenomenal. The broth was rich, tangy, and spicy. Loved all the layers of pickled mustard greens, chili oil, and Sichuan peppercorns. The fish itself was silky and tender, practically melting in your mouth. Easily a must-order dish here. One downside though, you have to pay for rice separately, which feels a little stingy considering how much sauce and broth these dishes come with. You'll definitely need rice so just add it on. Service is about what you'd expect from a busy Chinese restaurant, efficient, a bit no-nonsense, but not unfriendly. If you speak Mandarin, you'll probably get quicker service.

Hubby and I went to Chengdu Taste for lunch during our recent short trip to Las Vegas. Given there are so many good Chinese restaurants, it was a tough decision where to have each meal, given the short trip and limited # of meals we can have. But alas, we were not disappointed. We went when they first opened and the restaurant was pretty quiet. It's nice and spacious. The service was friendly and prompt. We ordered 3 dishes and wish we were with a large group to order more because there are so many good dishes to try. We ended up trying the beef with red and green pepper (tasty and beef so tender), stir fried pig's liver & kidney (so delicious), and our go-to lazi chicken or chicken cube with chili pepper (which surprisingly, was not as flavorful as expected). Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and wished we could go back and try more interesting dishes. But it will have to be another trip to Vegas.

Great little find in Chinatown away from all the craziness of many of the larger plazas. We were quickly seated and ordered our food after a few questions. Went with the Seaweed Eggdrop soup since it was a family style portion. It was great. Tasted fresh and perfectly seasoned. The Cold Noodles with Garlic Sauce was new to us. It included fresh minced garlic and lots of cucumbers plus peanuts and a chili crisp like sauce. Yummy. I ate most of the cucumbers and went light on sauce. My husband loved the garlic and chili sauce, etc. The Kung Pao Chicken had minimal veggies, just how we like it. White rice was à la carte, so we ordered one. Definitely try if you're craving Szechuan food in Las Vegas.

Service was very attentive--they kept reminding us not to leave anything in the car. Our group of three was exhausted from shopping, and every dish we ordered was delicious--perfectly numbing and spicy, and very satisfying. It's always such a treat to enjoy some spicy food once in a while.

Love this spot. Was craving Szechuan and stopped at this spot. I love the rattan pepper fish soup, and this spot is superb. It reminds me of Sichuan Impression, but this dish has extra flavors with the addition of bamboo shoots and cucumber. These two addition help cut down the greasy feeling and really made the soup taste light. We took the leftover soup home and added fish and bean sprouts to it the next day. The taste of the soup was still amazingly flavored and spicy. We also ordered green beans and spicy chili chicken l, and both are tasty. The spicy chili chicken definitely has a lot of Szechuan peppercorn, and it's been awhile since I experienced lip numbness for like 10min after eating this dish. Even wit the lip numbness, I still wanted to eat more. The staff was quick and friendly. They have highchair for kids. Overall, I absolutely love the food. I need to try the ones back in LA.

This is one of my favorite places to come to. Everything I have had here has been delicious and I look forward to going again!

Chengdu Taste is such a common name for a Sichuan restaurant that I've ate at more than a few of them in all different states and they are all unrelated. What I liked here in Vegas is their authentic flavors and generous portions! One order of mapo tofu here is like double the size of typical Chinese restaurants. We also got the Cuiyun boiled fish with pickled cabbage & chili and that was delicious! The soup was well balanced and a great choice if you want something a little less oily. Pickled cabbage is great for digestion too. What I was not crazy for here is bring nicked & dimed for white rice. There's no large or family size white rice so you're stuck paying for bowl after bowl. Overall, they have my stamp of approval for being one of the few Sichuan style restaurants in Vegas that serves authentic food!

Very traditional Chinese food in Chinatown! We were seated quickly and ordered the toothpick cumin lamb and cold garlic noodle. The noodle had a strong vinegar taste, which is my personal preference. There's casual booth seating and can be conducive for larger parties too.

This is honestly one of my all-time favorite Chinese spots! My go-to order is always the toothpick lamb, chili wontons, house fried rice, and Mapo tofu. The food never disappoints. Everything is just so flavorful and comforting.

Just moving to Vegas we had to come to Chinatown for lunch. We were missing a soup from a Chinese place in Texas. It was a traditional Flounder with pickled vegetables clear soup. Changed my life. Did some investigating and wam bam found it here. It was once again life changing especially after a night of drinking. Great service and just a neat restaurant. We will be back.

We came for lunch. There were plenty of parking spaces. The service was courteous. We ordered some traditional Sichuan food: Griddle Cooked Diaphragm, Mapo Tofu, Fish in spicy soup, Stir fried pig kidney. Except the last one was very salty, everything else was all authentic and wonderfully presented.

You can bring alcohol?? Someone says you may bring, really lol?

Are you guys open? We've been calling to place an order since last week.

    Is this restaurant currently closed?

From our experience, seems like they only serve Asians. White people not welcome.

    Is alcohol served here?

No, not served, buy you may bring your own.

Do they serve wontons with chicken shrimp or veggie filling ? A lot of my family does not eat red meat but love wontons..

I don't think so. But I have asked them to make my food veggie friendly and they more than willing. But wontons usually already made.

    Do they use msg?

MSG is used on several dishes. Please ask for no MSG as needed.

Does this place have hot pot with pork? Thx!!

They have a wide selection of pork items. I can't remember exactly but this place is bomb. I had a cold pork appetizer dish as a appetizer and it was epic!

Can anyone recommend non spicy meat dish? I mean it has to be not spicy at all. Thank you.

Just went here and most of my family can't take the heat. We ordered the wonton with chicken broth and the egg with shrimp. Both not spicy that were flavorful.

Shangs Noodle was one of my favorite meals that I ate while in Vegas this time around. The noodles are fresh and every dish tastes so good. Just full of flavor with every bite. The beef noodle soup was my favorite and we shared it between 5 people because we ordered a lot but I could've easily devoured that bowl on my own. The cucumber salad is some of the prettiest presentation I have seen. The presentation of every dish was so pretty and drool worthy. It's a big space with lots of seating but because of how popular it is, it gets packed. The fried rice reminds me of DTF in that it's very moist but flavorful. The dumplings were so good too in the chili oil. I'm not a dan dan noodles girl so that was my least favorite dish. I tried a little bit of it and there is definitely a kick - I don't think you can adjust the spice level so beware. The staff does warn you when you order that dish. If it's too hot and there are spots on the bench, I recommend waiting inside. You are seated next to the window where you can watch them prep the noodles.

Sadly for Vegas, anything that taste like Chinese food, that is not great, but not horrible would be a 4 stars. Nothing has been on par to 4 stars LA (which is 5 stars here), which has much more competition, more ppl cultured in the food, and has a larger dense community to judge/higher expectations of their own cultural cuisine. This place would be a Vegas 4 star, except all the sand and pebbles we kept eating. I'm very sure it can be a 4 star in Vegas. Many places that don't even taste like Chinese food still get 4 stars by ppl. Chinese food is expensive in Vegas because there isn't much of a community here, and both tourists and many locals don't know what it's supposed to taste like. 17. A-Choy, Garlic $15.99. - This has a bit of sand in it. Not cleaned well. 10. Spicy snails $9.99. This is already premixed so you can not customize on the spicy level. - The snails are super tiny. The taste was medium spicy, with herbal hint of flavor I like. - This has A LOT of sand in it. Not correctly purged/cleaned. More than 90% of it had sand in it :/ Like alot of sand, not just tiny amounts in each one. On top of it, it's like tiny pebbles too. This dish is NOT edible. 3. Wok-Fried Pork Kidney and Liver $22.99. We asked for small spicy which translates to mild. SO enjoyed this. This dish normally is just too salty for my tastebuds which is normal. But at least it's not as salty, and taste better than Special Noodle Restaurant (a restaurant I'm not a fan of). I am interested in trying out a lot more dishes. I'm actually full of hope for this place. Because there really isn't that many decent places, I'm open to mistakes like sand, less clean process, etc. Doesn't mean I'll eat the sand. We'll just to find the dishes that's better. But everything tastes on point. :( Beggars can't be choosers.

However, I think the difference is getting the hand pulled this time instead of the knife cut. The noodles weren't as greasy as last time and honestly are less greasy than cheaper places now that I've had a chance to re-try the old school Vegas Chinese (looking at Pick Up Stix, China A Go-Go, Noodle Master...). Knife cut sounds appealing but it ends up being too doughy for me. I craved dumplings but just about everywhere serves them up fried (unless you want to enter the world of dim sum madness) so I took advantage of the ability to customize almost anything on their menu. It kind of backfired, looking at the stack of 5 containers I got. Two had sauce and two had wontons in it. They were delicious but I think I'll revise how I order next time. At least I got an assortment of containers to take home and reuse! Service was a little slow this time around. The host prioritized the phone over people standing in front of her and took forever with the lady in front of me once she hung up. I could see my bag of takeout that I'd paid for sitting on the counter and my fingers itched to just grab it and leave. Glad I restrained myself, but annoying just the same. Her apology was mechanical and automatic so I guess she does that a lot. Smirk.
