I was underwhelmed with my carryout lunch experience primarily because there was no focus on the customer. The service at the counter was glum and slow, the menu boards were surprisingly bad (with no printed menus at the counter), the dining area needed to be remodeled and reconfigured (maybe it was closed - I couldn't tell), and the food was just okay. My chicken with mixed veggies lunch ($7.50 including only a choice of crab rangoon or egg roll) was served in 11 minutes. The egg roll was very good, and there was a good variety of veggies, but the fried rice was dry, the sauce was thin and not especially flavorful, and the white chicken consisted of large, flat pieces of meat that needed to be cut. Kayla, nail technician at CK Nails (next door) recommended this place and actually retrieved a menu, made some recommendations and then took my order over. I tried a new dish, Singapore MeiFun, a spicy rice noodle combo and it was yummy. Not sure of the exact spices but it tasted more like an Indian dish which I typically enjoy. One way of checking out a Chinese restaurant is to order a classic dish - such as General Tso's Chicken. Another is to pick one of their specials. When I'm doubt, I recommend to see what they do with something very basic. Ordered combination fried rice. At best it was just ok. Overall, it lacked taste. Have been ordering here for years. We like the food but they have now not only increased the prices but reduced the portions. A simple sweet and sour chicken is $14 with no sides now and I didn't mind with the container was packed with food but now it's a smaller container and it's only maybe 65-75% full. Good food. The shrimp wontons were flavorful and were authentic to taste. They were the most popular among my family. The honey shrimp were fried like sweet and sour dishes with thick batter and not the light coating traditional coating. However the sweet mayo sauce was tasty and as expected. This one went fast too. The char sui pork was delicious and on the sweeter side. It was great with their fluffy white rice. The sesame chicken had big chucks and was standard. The Singapore Meifun was a hit with my kids. The curry based pan fried thin noodles were a nice departure from the usual and had big flavor. If you like yellow curried flavor items you should definitely try this one. read more

It had been a while since I had come and I decided to try again. The interior is still really rough. Empty buffet in the middle of the room, I'm guessing it is never used? Collection of chairs and tables around the perimeter but it is not comfortable or welcoming. TAKE OUT is the only way to go. First of all, the wait was much longer than the 15-20 minute expectation (this would be okay if the food we're fresh and/or they were busy). Second, the inside of the storefront location was dirty and disorganized. Not sure how I have not ordered from here before! I placed a delivery order online today as I am at work and not looking to get in the cold. Order placed at 12:35pm with an estimated delivery of 45-95 mins. The order came in 35 minutes; not only that, the delivery person called ahead to let me know she was on her way into my lobby. The order came complete, hot and quickly thru door dash I had egg rolls (nothing special; tasted like they were made with peanut butter), but I also had crab Rangoon and those were surprisingly delicious. Generous amount of the cream cheesy/crab mixture practically oozed out the side. MuShu veggies were my main course and they were super with extra mushrooms, as I requested. I did get mine in a dinner portion and I found it to be very ample. It come with four pancakes and white rice. My veggies that were supposed to be crisp, like snap peas were crisp. After several more visits, I think I shorted them a star, thus the update. Every time I have been in here, the food has been delicious, freshly prepared & served quickly. The owner is about the nicest guy you can imagine & he remembers me even though I don't come in all that frequently -- he greets everybody with a great smile & make you feel welcome. This has become my go-to place for inexpensive lunchtime Chinese. Six bucks gets you an entree with fried rice & two good-sized crab rangoons. The spice level is definitely midwesternized (is that a word? it ought to be..) but if you ask them to make your dish a little hotter, they'll be happy to do so. If you are looking for good, cheap chinese food that you know you can trust, that is in a clean environment, and you know you won't get sick - this is the place to go. The owners (Judy and Peter) are some of the most friendly people you can meet. They really love what they do, and put their whole life into their restaurant. The chinese food here is some of the greatest you can get at such an incredible price. I am very selective with the type of chinese that I get. I do not like certain Chinese spices, such as an excess of jasmine/etc. This chinese restaurant meets a good balance in their seasoning. As some have mentioned, the general tso's is not the most spicy - however it is very very very tasty. If you want it spicier, just ask them to make it spicier and they will! They have absolutely excellent dumplings, and their hot and sour soup is amazing. They make all of their food 'call to order'. You can see them making your food, as their kitchen is right behind the counter. They have seating for about 25ish. Every Christmas Eve, we bring our family here and bring about 10-30 people (depending on the year/etc). Every ingredient they use here they try to use the freshest possible. For example, instead of using the dried oranges like a lot of chinese restaurants do, they buy fresh oranges and cut them up themselves, peal the skins, and dry them there. Peter and Judy always try to give you more food then you paid for - they always try and through in some free food. For example, if you buy $20 worth of stuff, they through in an order of crab rangoons for free. If you want delivery, they will deliver - and if you want catering, they will cater for you too. If youre ever up this way, on College and Antioch in Shannon Valley shopping center, make sure to stop in and try their General Tsos and Hot and Sour soup. read more

I get takeout from China One about once a month or so. The food is always very good, and is prepared quickly, usually ready about 10 minutes after I call in my order. The General Tso's is a solid option, although it's not quite as spicy as I normally prefer. Mu Shu Pork and Kung Pao chicken are also very good here. read more

This place is right around the corner from our house. Why haven't we come here more often? I'm not sure. We were craving Chinese food last Sunday after church and decided to give it a try. Great idea! First of all, the guy who took our orders was very friendly and helpful. He is most likely an owner. Second, the prices are crazy cheap - $5.50 - $6 for lunch specials with crab rangoon or eggroll? Yes! Third, service was fast. We ordered it to go (next time we will call ahead) and it took about 10-15 minutes. Fourth, once we got the food home and ate it - it was great! Plenty of meat, the vegetables were fresh and the sauces were good. The only caveat is that if you like spicy, you need to ask for it to be spicier. Our spicy dishes weren't very fiery. We will do that next time. FYI - this isn't authentic Chinese - at least what we ordered wasn't. This is Americanized Chinese. However, sometimes that is what I crave. Ever since Andy's Wok and Fortune Star left the 119th and Metcalf corridor, I've missed really good General Tso's chicken. I checked this place out for lunch today. The good news - the General Tso's was awesome. I ordered the lunch special online, and was able to ask for medium spicy. It was near perfection. The bad news - at $8.99 for for an average lunch serving of meat, rice and ONE crab rangoon, they are pricing themselves out of the lunch market. If they serve two crab rangoon, an egg drop soup, and the same entree, they are a little bit higher than the competition, but they have way better food, and I'm all over this. Nothing changes, I'll stop by every now and then. Maybe I'll check out their dinner values. If they up their value on the lunch, I'm in trouble. I may be there every week. read more

I highly discourage anyone from ordering from this restaurant. We ordered food and it took nearly 2 hours to have it delivered. By the time we had gotten it, it was cold and soggy. The restaurant refused to give a refund or even an apology without taking the food back. This was mediocre Chinese food even without the issues with getting it on time. If you're hungry and dont have several hours to wait, do not order from this restuarant! If I could give this restaurant negative stars, i would have.
