Decided to order carry out from this place since it was near me.. unfortunately, I was very disappointed :/ I had placed an order for Salt & Pepper Shrimp and I did receive a call that they didn't have it available- which was fine, however- the salt & pepper shrimp was $19 and what they did have available was significantly cheaper and I didn't get reimbursed for charge difference. Usually, I don't mind if it's a few dollars and I was very understanding but what I received was just below par.. I ordered the chicken & broccoli and this was not even seasoned.. the picture speaks for itself.. no ounce of seasoning, it tasted like the chicken & broccoli were boiled and called good. This is exactly that small slice of a building that you barely register that produces some of the most consistently good Chinese fare you can find. There is very little seating. This place is for take out, pure and simple. You can order at the counter, over the phone, or online. If you need drinks, you get them in a can or bottle from a cooler. The food that you take home and eat will be tasty and probably exactly what you are craving! It's not fancy. It's not a hangout or a place where you are gonna get pampered. They were moderately busy when we showed up. The dining room is only 4 tables; one of which is being used for silverware and prep station. When I stood up to order someone else took my seat so I decided on carryout. The food came out in probably about 5 minutes. We ordered shrimp with vegetable and General Tsos combos with fried rice and egg drop soup and an extra order of Crab Rangoon. We had about a 10 minute drive home and everything was still piping hot. We had a bit of leakage in the bag despite the fact that they use good takeout containers. The food was tasty and good price. We LOVE this place. Have ordered a few times now since moving back to KC. Delivery is always fast, and the food is fresh and HOT upon arrival. Every dish we have had has been amazing. The only thing we wouldn't reorder are the fried meat dumplings. There was honestly the tiniest amount of meat in them. The chicken dishes we have tried are great, and the noodles, so good!!! Our favorite, although so tough to pick one dish, is probably the generals chicken. Can't wait to explore more of their menu. This is one of those places where you know no mattter what you're get, it's going to be good. These are pictures of past dishes we've gotten over the last couple months. Some are hard to tell apart. Lo mein is of course a thinker noodle, and mei fun is very thin. Can't go wrong with either. Perfect experience all 4 times we've ordered from here. Great little Chinese bistro style restaurant on Oralabor!! Went there for lunch on Friday, only had 2-3 tables full. Quick and responsive service. I had the Lunch Sesame's Chicken, Egg drop soup, crab Rangoons and egg rolls. The soup was very hot and delicious, chicken sauce was a bit think, but also very good. Horrible, I placed an online order the total came out to 17.65. It was the only place open on Christmas, I stopped on my way to my parents house and got some mandarin chicken for my son and I. 30 mins later we got to my parents house and it was the most Disgusting thing I've ever had in my whole life. This used to be my favorite Chinese food in Overland Park and I'd order from my company at least twice per week, sometimes 20+ meals. At the start of COVID, the two of us left in the office continued to order from China Garden once, sometimes twice a week and it was always something to look forward to. In the last month or so, we've had issues with our food (we both always get the same thing, L1-Chicken with Fresh Vegetables, Steamed Rice and 2 Egg Rolls or 2 Crab Rangoon), having to call them back to let them know what was wrong with our order. One time had no flavor like the cook forgot all or any seasoning, once ice cold, once with slimy brown things in the sauce we had never seen before... It's very unfortunate wanting to support this small business that used to have amazing food and this place used to serve 20+ of us here at a time without error, but they can't even get 2 orders correct anymore. My chicken with vegetables lunch was especially good, and reasonably priced at $6.25. The chicken was tasty and all white, the veggies were perfectly cooked, the fried rice was some of the best I've recently tasted, the egg roll was good, and the crab Rangoon was creamy. The service at the counter was polite and efficient, and my order was ready in about six minutes. The small dining area was spotless, with four tables and a TV. Very nice! read more

This used to be a somewhat decent place to get chinese food, but it's under new management, and it's gone downhill fast. There was another reviewer who mentioned they got egg rolls, and I concur with the review they left. I got 3 egg rolls last night, and they were awful, very dried out, and not good at all. I've had better from a box of frozen ones from a grocery store. I've also had the bland and tasteless beef fried rice. I won't be spending my money there anymore. Fortunately, I'm taking a trip back to the East Coast next April, and I'll just get good chinese then. There are no decent places in Kansas. read more

Bizarre, I ordered takeout from here using BeyondMenu like I have many times before, when I picked up my order the cashier asked me to use a different website the next time. I thought they might have their own website, but when I looked at the card she gave me it was for a different restaurant, China Panda. This is the best Chinese restaurant in Overland Park. There's a lot of them out there but this one has more natural taste and flavor then the other ones. The price is very good as well. They have options to add more meat or vegetables. It's very important for me because a lot of Chinese restaurants are so cheap with the amount of food they put in, but not these guys. Just make sure to ask for more. Now the inside of this building is small. It has a few tables with chairs, I do recommend for takeouts. The service is the best, I haven't had a single complaint with this place read more

The lunch special included an entree, fried or white rice, egg drop or hot and soup, crab Rangoon or egg roll, and a Pepsi drink. Staff are very lenient so you can choose to forgo the soup and get two, fried appetizers instead. The special is less than $7, and it comes with enough food to give you two portions! read more

Hot delicious food and warm friendly service! This little place only opened two weeks ago but things here are already running smoothly. The hot and sour soup came out piping hot and to my surprise was one of the best I have ever had. It struck just the right balance between flavors, not being excessively spicy so as to overwhelm the other more subtle flavors. In addition to the usual mushrooms, tofu and bamboo shoots I was also delighted to find strips of steak in there, yum! The server quickly brought our two entrees; my husband chose pepper steak, and I fell back to my usual standby of sweet and sour chicken. Now my husband isn't generally one who likes Chinese food, (getting him to go with me usually involves substantial bribes) so to see him not just eating, but enjoying every bite made my day. Of course I had to have a bite too! Very tender strips of steak in a light but flavorful pepper sauce. The dish wasn't drowning in gooey sauce. The steak wasn't tough. And it also was piping hot fresh from the wok. My sweet and sour chicken didn't disappoint. I was pleased to find that the chicken that had been battered was high quality chicken breast. We chose to eat in. Be warned there are only four tables that seat four people each, and we were reminded several times that they will happily deliver any order over $15. Good reminder considering once word spreads... this place is likely to be busy all the time! Do try the eggrolls, they were great!! read more
