We were in town and decided to have Chinese food for lunch. Found this place nearby and decided to try it out. Overall we were sadly disappointed. The gal working the counter seemed uninterested and couldn't even feign a smile. The interior itself was bleak, with faded signage above the counter and a few wooden tables and chairs around the perimeter. But we were not here to make friends with staff or have a romantic dinner, we were here for the food, but still... I ordered the General Tsao chicken and the better half ordered the Sesame Chicken; with an order of pork wontons to split. The food came out hot and fresh, albeit bagged into to-go containers even though we were dining in. The food was not hateful, just average. Albeit both dishes had ample chicken pieces, they were kind of large overall; especially in the Sesame Chicken. My General Tsao had ZERO heat to it (and they advertise it as having heat). It was actually on the sweeter side, like an Orange Chicken would be. We decided to taste test each others dishes and the taste was nearly identical, hmmmmmmmmmm I wonder why. The side of yellow "pork" fried rice that came with the main entrees was palatable, but nothing great with tiny pieces of pork hidden within it and some not fully cooked pieces of onion. The pork fried wontons were actually fairly decent, but the sweet & sour dipping sauce was straight up from a bottle. I usually consume all my Chinese food in one sitting, but since it wasn't very fulfilling I packed up half of it to go. I later ate the other half for dinner, after spicing it up with some red pepper which helped make it pop. I doubt we will ever eat here again, but if we do for some reason I'll update this review of two stars (it could've been better). read more

The food here is really good for the price. My favorite items are the spring rolls, shrimp lo mein, and general tso's chicken. I got the pepper steak once and it was just OK but people seem to like it. The food is very consistent. They are doing a FANTASTIC job with covid protocol. They don't allow anyone inside and have an ordering window set up where you order and pay and then a little opening to hand over food. Very impressed! read more

Wow Do not trust the 4 star reviews. I never rate a restaurant one star would actually give CHINA One NEGATIVE 5 I stop by last Tuesday afternoon and order 1 chow mein and 1 fried rice take out. Worst food ever Tasteless chicken hard and chewy for both meals seems its stale or left overs food. No packet sauce in bag. My dogs refuse to eat it .Had to trash food. I just bought the house Lo Mein and it had no flavor barely Any meat or shrimps. It was just a bunch of noodles. Will not be going there again. Mayflower has the best Lo Mein hands down! Will go there instead. read more

Really good made to order food. Clean, well ran, no bad food smells, the staff pays attention to the details. Noted most orders are take out, so they have a consistant following, guessing due to consistant quality. This is a nice take out or eat in location. Seating for about 16, also a word of caution, it is in the south east corner of the strip-mall. The area is not super busy, so access off of the toll way is pretty simple. Fast food Chinese, but they are willing to personalize to accommodate. They advertise a crab roll for $1.35 that is absolutely divine! Another favorite is steamed green beans with their brown sauce on the side for dipping! Fine Buddha's Delight (vegetarian), great kung pao, hot 'n sour soup, General Tso's Chicken. I don't think you can go wrong here! Essentially a carry-out place, with 2-3 eat-in tables. Call ahead, they'll be ready! 3/2016 update. Ordered veggie lo mein (spicy!). They "accidentally" made House Special lo mein (pork, chicken, shrimp). Good thing I'm not allergic! Just a note there may be a language barrier that could affect your order. The only Chinese food that I will eat in Lakeland! I've had good Chinese food and most places around here can't compete but this place is the most authentic. The crab rangoon eggrolls are amazing, the boneless pork ribs are even better and the sesame chicken is my favorite. I live all the way on the other side of town but I will regularly drive the 30 minutes to get this. Thank you China One! read more

Great takeout, reasonable prices. I didn't know this before, but if you go to the Buddha Bar - next to China One - you can order, pay and wait for your food to be brought to you while you enjoy a nice adult beverage. I will be taking advantage of that next time, and there will definitely be a next time. Only criticism would be the lack of attentiveness and service over the phone, but they got the order correct, so it wasn't terrible at least. read more

Well, this is the third and finally time I try this stuff! It's convenient to my job, but I will use my gas to go out a little further for some descent food. This is a little hole in the wall place that is exceptional. I moved to Lakeland in 2012 to finish school and bought a small home a mile down the road from this place. I was skeptical when initially trying to find a Chinese place, but after eating here there is no better place. It is small but they deliver high quality Chinese food. I have never had a bad experience here, and I regularly order from here. Just a few tips: there sesame chicken and general soas chicken is great. there spring rolls are always crisp and never to oily. There noodles are also to die for. My 2 year old loves it and we order a huge order of the lo mein each time. I hope that you take a chance on this place because it is definitely a hidden gem in the small city of Lakeland. read more

Pretty good. We used to live close by this establishment, and I estimate we ordered their food at least 30 times. No real complaints. The food did get a bit more bland over time - their shrimp fried rice used to have more flavor and freshness (egg bits and such) - but for pick-up Chinese it's still a good deal. read more

Had lunch of sweet and sour chicken today and it was just meh.. I have never had yellow roast pork fried rice, the flavor was odd too. Roast pork and veggies were few and far between bites. Service was quick and that is really the only good thing I can say about the experience. Now I have to find something to eat for lunch read more

The best Chinese food in all of Lakeland! We love the chicken wings, fried rice, dumplings steamed as well as Fried. Also the Buddha café across the way is awesome as well they are the same owners. Exceptional service as always for this place. Every time we come we feel like family. They always make the food fresh. Every holiday that things aren't open they are. It's your typical "American Chinese" fast food. They are consistently delicious, and if you order a few times they get to know you. This is our go to place when someone in the house is sick for won ton soup. It just seems to get in there and make you feel better. And as a bonus it's super cheap. read more
