Been here over a dozen times now. Never had a problem with parking. Never had to wait for a table. They are busy but they handle it well. Staff are happy and friendly and helpful. They do a great job cleaning and are fast. They are so kind to us. Food selection is great. Ive really never had a problem with old stale food. Everything has been hot and fresh. Price is decent. Desert is pretty good. Cookies and cakes. The ice cream machine is great. There are two other Chinese buffets that are in the area and i think this one is my favorite. I had a very uncomfortable experience during my visit. Our server, Irene, made us feel rushed from the moment we sat down. She didn't refill our drinks until we specifically asked, and overall the service felt rushed. We were still eating our dinner -- we hadn't even gotten dessert yet -- when she brought the check and repeatedly asked if we had already put our card inside. It made the meal feel pressured and unpleasant. When I got up to walk to the counter to pay, she cut me off in a one-way aisle and nearly ran into me just to get ahead. Food was cold and blah. Service was meh. The iced tea tasted like sewer water. If your starving you will get a lot of bang for your buck but if it's taste you crave this just won't do it. The SMELL! Is it the fish pond or plumbing?! From the time I entered the establishment, I thought maybe it was just a Koi ponds in the front of the restaurant. But as we chose to dine in here anyway, and give it another chance from our last visit a few years ago, I realized that the smell was not necessarily the Koi pond, but was also coming from the back kitchen area and restrooms. The smell of bleach covering old, stagnant, toilet water and plumbing smells. Needless to say this does not make an enjoyable dining experience. Now let's discuss the quality of the food for this visit, it was subpar at best. While the items were stocked, they did have the appearance that some dishes had been sitting on the warming tables for a little bit longer than they should've been. There was not any outstanding flavor in the sauces, and the fried items somehow were soggy instead of staying crisp on the edges like they should. Egg rolls and wontons should not be soggy, especially at the point edges. The table that we were seated at had a sticky film on half of it where I was sitting. I requested something to wash the table 3 times from the server who smiled and said OK and walked away, and would tend to other things in the restaurant never our table. I finally used some water from my glass of water and some towels and wipe the table myself. My memories of eating at this establishment and enjoying the food are a memory long gone. After this visit my wife and I both agreed we will never return to this establishment again and pay the prices that they're asking for a mediocre, lackluster experience. read more

Buffet Asian food, sushi, and even a hibachi in the back for dinner service. It's got great taste and quick service with a beautiful place inside! I've found what I like to eat by going here. But... Sadly the Koi fish there seem to get mistreated. I've seen kids throwing coins at the fish a few times and there are always a few dollars in cents inside the pond. read more

We were craving Asian food and wanted a buffet but were a little hesitant based on the reviews. We gave it a try anyway and we're glad we did. It was 2pm on a Thursday, yet the buffet was still fresh and hot and they continued to replenish it. They don't have the hibachi items for lunch. They do have a sushi bar. Someone posted a review that there weren't many desserts but there's a dessert section plus dessert items in with the food, like sesame balls, steamed buns, sugar donuts and Apple crisp. The service was good and the restaurant is clean. Definitely recommend. read more

One of the best Chinese buffets I've ever been to. Not the largest one, but they make sure to focus on the classics. They have a large selection of fresh sushi, hibachi and all different types of classic Chinese dishes. The restaurant is always clean, plenty of seating, and my son loves the beautiful koi fish pond. We came here recently and they even had Christmas insprired sushi and a little dragon on one sushi plate. Excellent attention to detail. Service is fair here. My only dilemma is we had to call over our server quite frequently and I hate doing this. The price was also pretty high for dinner in my opinion at around $16 a person but it was delicious and we left happy. read more

Went there for lunch during the week. The food was bland, nothing of note stood out except the Miso soup wasn't bad, after putting a bunch of green onion and a won ton in it. No hibachi at lunch, and it's more expensive than Hibachi Buffet, and not nearly as good, nor the selection, and there's hibachi for lunch at Hibachi buffet. The BIGGEST thing, that totally grossed me out, was ZERO SOAP IN THE BATHROOM!! I told them up at the counter, and they just gave me that same, blank look the servers give you. Yea, and the service was not good either. Time before that went there and no one would refill my water after I had been up there 3 times to the buffet. Screw this place. BORING!!! Ling's used to be THE place to go, even when they were up in the 98N area. At that time they were a simple, pleasant place to have a quiet meal. However, when they closed there and moved to the current location they changed the ambiance to that of a "High Bourgeois" type of place, and with that the prices became higher. The place is very clean, and the Chinese decorations are very pretty. They even have a typical KOI Pond under the entrance bridge area, again, very clean and decorative. Now, depending on the time of day, as with all restaurants, one can expect Fresh food or Old food just left after Lunchtime that becomes crusty and stuck to the pans. I've seen this. I was annoyed and apparently scared whoever was in charge as I protested that my money was not going for old food, as they were apparently waiting for the "Dinner Menu". They brought out small portions of the regular fare, which was immediately consumed, again leaving that which I protested. I've visited there several times thereafter as my Family likes to visit for minor occasions, and, as stated, it depends on the time of day as to how the food is going to be - old, mixed, or fresh. The Service is always pleasant and cordial, so there's no issue there. When I compare their normal food offerings to other Chinese restaurants I feel that this place is just ADEQUATE. Other restaurants in the area have a lot more, different offerings included with what Ling's also offers. It's worth the trip to at least visit once as the place appears to be "Modern", and the food, when edible, is very good. A friend of mine recommended this Chinese buffet restaurant in Lakeland, FL. Absolutely a good place to eat some good Chinese food. Lots of variety of food. I enjoyed the fact they had different flavors of Sushi. I love sushi. So this restaurant got a high five from me. I will be honest, there's been few places I've gone where the staff and managers are so attentive to thier customers and this place has gone beyond hospitable. They made us feel so comfortable and the waitresses that attended us could of not been more sweeter to us. Truly enjoyed her hospitality. Another thing I enjoyed was thier Koi fish. Love seeing these fish around ponds. They have a nice surroundings as you enter the restaurant. You kind of cross over a little overpass bridge and there you can see the fish. Came here for lunch, since my friend wanted sushi for his bday and he specifically mentioned this place. I was a little concerned when I read the buffet was only $13.95, but I was game to give it a try. So upon entering the restaurant, I noticed they had a nice lunch crowd seated, who seemed to all be enjoying their lunches. We were greeted and seated. The greeter took our drink order and left. Off to the buffet we both went..... I beelined straight for the sushi bar, even though there were a variety of other counters loaded with delicious looking foods. Quite a variety of dishes are provided here. The sushi bar does displays approximately 24 different types of sushi rolls, sliced... all fresh and constantly replenished. Couldn't really say I have a favorite because I ate at least 1 of each roll, and almost all were really good. Then, are eating my let's weight in sushi, I checked out the other food offerings of this buffet. Freshly baked whole fish, salmon and a large whitefish, were as tasty as they looked....as were all of the other beef, chicken, and shrimp dishes that I saw, and tasted. They also had a nice dessert buffet counter, filled with fruits and light desserts that nicely complimented the meal I just ate. And all the whole that we were eating, the server kept stopping by to tell drinks, remove finished plates and give more napkins. Pleasantly pleased with this place. It was my first time going and I was recommended by an employee at my job. At first I wasn't sure if it was worth it going because I have been to other Chinese buffets and they are disgusting. After reading the postings we decided to give Ling's a try. Upon arrival (Sunday lunch) it was obvious they were very busy by looking at the parking lot. We went in and were met immediately by the hostess. The restaurant was packed, but we were seated immediately. When we went to get our food we were very impressed with the selection! The food was very warm and excellent flavor! The food area was kept clean and inviting. All the food trays were well stocked even with such a large number of customers. As we finished with a plate they were quickly removed. The large number of staff were helpful and were very energetic. The restaurant is large and quite beautiful. I kept in mind what I'd read online and was watching (and tasting) to see if I could see issues that were mentioned. I saw nothing negative! I would very definitely recommend Ling's as an excellent place to eat. We celebrated our 52 anniversary there and left very full and in complete agreement that it is the best Chinese restaurant we've been to! read more

Ling's Buffet is a wonderful Chinese buffet to go to in Lakeland. When you arrive, there is plenty of parking in the front and on the sides of the building. Upon entry you're greeted with a quaint bridge over a coy pond. There is plenty of seating and a variety of booth or table on demand. The staff is extremely friendly and very attentive to your needs for drink refills, replacement utensils and getting the check. The food was absolutely delicious! It was hot, flavorful and there was a good variety. I always first judge Chinese food based off the egg drop soup and there's was some of the best I have ever tasted. I loved that they had some dim sum and steamed bun options as this is not normal for most buffets. Lastly, the sushi was really good! They were bite sized but it tasted fresh, was still cold, and well restocked. Will definitely return in the future. read more

Went here for dinner on a Friday evening. I can't say it was terrible and I can't say it was fantastic. I will say the buffet was well stocked and the food was hot, but the actual food was very average and didn't have much flavor. Decent variety of food choices just really had a blandness to it. Do not go here for dinner. I went there for dinner today and I paid $15 a person to eat the leftovers from lunch. To top it all off I got sick and puked. When I went to report this to the manager, she act like she didn't care. This visit was so bad that I'm going to report it to the health inspector. So, when Lings first opened, it was bright, shiny new, and the food was amazing. We ate there two days ago, and it was such a disappointment. We sat in a booth, where half of the finish had been rubbed off on the table. The table was sticky. My husband had fried chicken, that was undercooked, mussels, that he had to spit out, even onion rings that he said were terrible. I had sushi, which was very good, but anything I tried from the hot area was disappointing. To be honest, as a nurse. I don't like the idea of a buffet, but that's where he wanted to go.
