I have been frequenting this establishment since the late 1990s We watch the original owners children grow up in the business. They owners finally retired, and new people opened up. They kept pretty much the same menu as before. I rarely see people dining in but quite a few takeout order business. I tried doordash for the first time in my life. I ordered two combination dinners #1 Almond Chicken with fried rice and a egg roll. #2 Pepper Steak with onions, fried rice and a egg role. The Almond Chicken was very oily and the batter on the chicken was impossible to eat along the edge the fried rice was also a little oily.The egg roll was nothing special. The Pepper Steak with onions was the better of the two. The steak was thinly cut and fairly tender. The onions and green peppers still had a little bite. Which is ok in my book. Dorrdash was quick. The total bill was $37 and change that included a $6.75 tip. I would definitely order the Pepper Steak with onions once again and try another dish in the future. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. The next review I do. We'll be a pickup order inside and introduce you to the lady who runs the counter. Alot of you know what I'm talking about. Food was delicious and customer service is beyond incredible. The staff here are hardworking and appreciative of the business they receive. It was first time doing a pickup here and there were lots of people waiting, but it was easy to see how hard the cooking staff were trying to get caught up. They even passed out egg rolls to everyone waiting in the lobby and thanked us for waiting. If you ever have worked in a restaurant before, you know that it can become stressful when people are waiting or when you get slammed on dinner rush, there is no reason to become hostile when you can see the team busting their butts to work quickly (talking to you DoorDash lady) China One - you earned a loyal customer tonight! read more

Based on the Owner's response, they are either very confused or trying to steer the issue by painting it as if the only problem was frustration with the fact that the food wasn't ready. No, the problem is they lied to my face. Do you think people are stupid? We can stand right there and watch you prepare the food. I saw you look in the only carry out bag that ready to go, I saw you search for the ticket. You then brought the ticket out and asked if it was my order, and when I said yes and asked you if it was ready, you lied to me and said it was. Then you went back into the kitchen and everyone went into panic mode. I asked again if it was ready, and again you lied and said it was. Then, as I walked out, you again insisted it was ready while it was still being prepared. Twice in a row. Same thing. Never again. read more

While this is not the best Chinese Restaurant I have eaten at, the food here is rather tasty. The owners are from Fujian Province in China, and most of their cooking style comes from that area. We drive 1/2 hour to patron this establishment, because our kids liked it. We have returned home to find our orders wrong, several times now, but today finally ended our patronage. When I called to order, as the kids wanted this for their birthday, I was treated horribly. I asked two simple questions and was snapped at, both times, with "NO". worst Chinese restaurant I've ever been to first if all they don't serve hot tea! what restaurant doesn't have tea? they said they don't serve hot tea in summer how crazy is that. so I asked for ice for my water they don't have ice either wow! then I ordered sweet and sour shrimp off the menu because the picture looked good, when I got it it was just a plate of fried shrimp with white rice, I asked where are the vegetables like on the picture she said oh that's just the picture for the menu! unbelievable that's what people order from a picture duh!!! Ordered take out for the first & last time tonight. The orange chicken was so over cooked & dry, I'm not even sure if there was any chicken in there or if it was all batter. The General Tso's tofu was listed on the menu as a "healthy" option but I don't know how... I was expecting just cooked tofu but it was battered & deep fried & also over cooked. Fried rice was mediocre, egg rolls were eh, crab Rangoon wasn't anything special. The only thing I actually enjoyed from my order was the Mongolian beef. To top it all off, while boxing everything back up I found a nice, black hair in my food. Yuck. read more

China One has the best crab rangoon anywhere. The hot-sour soup is also good. This was a regular stop for me when I lived at the Storl Apartments. But even if you're not from Milan, the food is good enough to make it worth a drive when you're anywhere in the Milan-Saline area. read more

So today is Tuesday march 28th we called about 1 pm to get our weekly order from here and not sure if it was a new lady who answered but man was she rude about asking if we could substitute for chicken fried rice which I have no problem paying extra but the way she talked to us instead of nicely explaining the correct way to go about it I finally said forget it and told my boyfriend to hang up and we will try somewhere new, been ordering from this place since we moved here 6 years ago because it's closer to our home so i decided to give Great Wall a try for a change because the attitude really just rubbed me the wrong way today and I'm sure glad I did because not only is the food bigger portions and tastes better the price is way cheaper and they let you substitute for an up charge. So sad they lost our business today and we decided to try somewhere new. So instead of spending 70 I paid 55 for more! Not sure where people lost customers service but glad we ventured out of this place. read more

Perfectly crafted food every time. I've always been a big Chinese foodie and upon moving to Milan my first visit here has had me hooked. Everything I've tried from the teriyaki chicken, to the shrimp with lobster sauce is equally delicious. The owners are always friendly and prices are very fair and portions are great. read more

I am happy to give this establishment another try. The next will be try number 3. First time was kung pao chicken, which is what I usually base every Chinese restaurant on, with white rice, wonton soup and fried dumplings. Came out with fried rice, which I've had their version of fried rice at another restaurant, and it is not a favorite. The kung pao tasted a little off, but the soup was very good as was the fried dumplings, which were awesome. Second time, I got the chicken with black bean sauce, wonton soup and, again fried dumplings. I did get white rice this time, and the chicken was pretty good. The wonton soup, as well, was very good. However, the fried dumplings?? It was as if they totally forgot to fry them. And if they were simply steamed, they did not seem completely done. I think next I will either try the Hunan or Garlic, maybe beef instead of chicken. And will definitely ask for the dumplings to be fried. read more

I've always thought the food was just okay here. I only go here because it is the only Chinese in Milan. If I had other options, I would go somewhere else. (I work in Milan.) Today, I went into this store with two other people. We each ordered separate. We got there just before a rush of people, which we were happy about because that meant we'd get our food first and get out of there before everyone else's orders were put in. We did not assume we'd be there for an hour. I ordered the broccoli and garlic, while the people I was with ordered the broccoli and shrimp, and the chick lo mein. My broccoli and garlic came out about twenty minutes later. The woman behind the counter said the rest would be out soon. We waited another 20 minutes, and had to ask about our other two orders. The woman who runs the store, then went into the back, came back to the front and handed the chicken lo mein dish to us right away as if it had just been sitting around. Then we asked about the broccoli and shrimp we were still waiting on, and we were told "one second". And the woman walked away before I could ask what one second meant. We waited ANOTHER twenty minutes, and asked about the broccoli shrimp AGAIN. That's when we found out that the woman behind the register had forgotten to pass along that order to the back of the store. But, that doesn't matter because we asked about it when we asked about the lo mein, and they'd said "one second", so we continued waiting. The woman who runs the store kept blaming it on the cashier, and would not take responsibility for her mistakes. Even if the woman had forgotten to pass along the order, we asked about the order after about a half hour of waiting, and they told us "one second". That's when it stopped being the cashiers fault, and became the store owners fault. We expressed how upset we were, that the first order of food had gone cold, and we waited 40 minutes for the second order, and an entire hour for the third order. (And by the time the third order came, the second order had ALSO gone cold.) We told the store owner that we wanted a refund, so she demanded the food back. I tried to explain to her, that we are hungry, and had to sit there for an hour waiting for our food. That when a food business makes a mistake this big, they need to refund us and offer to remake our food for free seeing as we are the customers who keep their business going, and it was their mistake. It was not our fault our orders took so long, or are requests for our food after waiting had been ignored. Its not our fault we chose that chinese place to eat at, not knowing we'd be treated so badly or waste so much of our time. Had we known we'd have to wait an hour, and be treated the way we were, we definitely would have taken our money somewhere else. Instead, The woman would not refund us, or make us another free meal. She would not do anything for us in any way, and continued to blame in on the cashier. Its safe to say the three of us, (who go there at least once to twice a week) Will not be returning. Oh, and they had a child working in the back. Completely illegal. The entire place is just crap. read more

Very dissatisfied with their service. China One needs to better realize the meaning of customer service. Myself, along with two others, walked in and ordered 3 meals and an appetizer to-go. The Crab Rangoon did not take too long to come out, about 20 minutes. Then, we sat there and waited at the table right in front of the counter minutes for our meals. We waited at least another 50 minutes, and they did not even have our complete order ready. We were still a meal short. Well, by then I let them know how displeased I was with their customer service, and I asked what they could do to make me, a regular customer, happy. I had 2 cold dinners, and this was not acceptable. I asked her what she was going to do to make me happy. I believe I should have got a full refund and a fresh meal for my wasted time, but she refused. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. She did not apologize. I believe they are also breaking child labor laws. They had a very young girl working over the hot stove in the back. So terrible. read more

My boyfriend and I are still on the hunt for good chinese food (we just moved here from California) and decided to try this place out. I got an order of the dumplings, and the Orange Chicken Lunch Special. While it is not the best that I've had, it was ok. The dumpling skin was a little too thick for me, but it was still good. This place was okay. The times my family went here, we got sweet and sour chicken for the kids, curry chicken, bean curd and veggies, and general tso's. The food was mostly okay, no complaints but not wowed. Enough portions for a good meal and some left over for lunch the next day. Been going to this place for years, great food for the price. The Chinese mixed vegetables with fried tofu is very nice! They have a few versions of this, see their menu. The lo-mein noodle with shrimp is also good, as is the chicken with broccoli (the sauce with this is very good). If you don't mind a few more calories, then also try the pan-fried pot stickers and the sweet-n-sour chicken (breaded) with the red sauce on the side. Yumm! read more
