Shame of takeout is you don't get the good sauces either. Just a packet of duck sauce and one of soy. Insert sad face. The Singapore Rice noodles? Yes, those are delicious. So good. Just the right spice. Delicate noodles cooked perfectly. Nice shrimp and pork, fluffy bits of egg and with a little crisp coming in with the vegetables. Got takeout from here because my favorite Saline Chinese was closed. Bill was $84 but portions were small. Crab Rangoon crust was dense and tough. Boneless almond chicken gravy was almost black in color, runny and tasted like soy sauce and minced garlic and some other weird flavors. Broccoli in the beef and broccoli was nearly raw. Fried rice had a good flavor. Sweet and sour chicken didn't have a lot of chicken. I will not be back. Gross! read more

We ordered the Japanese Chicken Teriyaki and the Japanese Hibachi. Both arrived in the exact same grease and black pepper laden sauce, neither of which was either teriyaki or hibachi. The only flavor on any of it at all was from the massive amounts of black pepper. Both dinners were inedible. We will never order from them again. read more

We needed a late takeout dinner at 8pm and Chinese sounded perfect. Food was good and the COVID procedures were phenomenal. Inside seating was closed and they created a temporary order counter that keeps contact to a minimum while ordering. It comes with sanitizer so you can clean after using pen to sign check. Staff were wearing masks. They are not always standing at order counter but have provided a door bell to ring to bring them up front. THE FOOD - General Tso chicken is my go-to order at Chinese restaurants. It's breaded, fried chicken in a soy based sauce. The recipe here was good, but didn't make my top ten list for Chinese restaurants. It was a bit blander in flavor that what I would prefer. That said, I still enjoyed my meal. - Steamed dumplings are my daughters favorite. These were good. The noodle was tender and the meat filling was plentiful and delicious. I don't know why Chinese restaurants don't typically identify the meat used but I suppose that is part of the adventure. I'd guess it was pork. read more

Absolutely the worst Chinese food I've ever had and worst $50 I've ever spent. Fried rice had huge onion chunks, no flavor, shrimp was breaded and "friend" but it was actually doughy and undercooked. Pot stickers were good. 1 star for those Never again. read more

I was out on some deliveries the other day and my work brought me to Salin a charming little area and I was excited to try some of the local cuisine. I asked a customer where I could get some good food fast that was not fast food. She said Gui Lin so I looked up there menu and made my decision. I decided to try the hot pepper chicken as I was craving a Spicer dish that particular afternoon. I arrived about 15 minutes later and approached the counter to pay. The young lady behind the counter said "oh your just in time we just got it ready for you." So I paid and picked up the bag full of fresh food. It smelled amazing it smelled slightly spicy and a combination of slightly sweet and savory. The taste of the dish tasted much like it smelled it was sweet, savory, and spicy. It was loaded up with veggies such as onions, peppers, and dried chilis. It was moderately priced at 10 dollars but it was money well spent and I hope to be delivering in the area again in the near future. read more

Now this is what I'm talking about! I usually eat cashew chicken here but the Singapore noodles need special note here. Not greasy, thin rice noodles are fluffy and the curry is nicely done; even medium spicy is fine. I enjoy the meat buns and the egg drop soup. While I usually eat in, I ordered online on a rainy day. Food was ready when I drove to pick up food. just signed credit card slip, added tip and all done! Easy! Food was still hot when I got home. Damn that was good eats! read more

I ordered General Tso's Chicken extra spicy with white rice. I had to add broccoli because it's not included in the lunch meal. When I got back to work to eat it I noticed the portion was very small. Half the container was rice no surprise there. There was 5 pieces of broccoli and only 9 little pieces of chicken. It tasted ok but the portion was skimpy, $1 per piece of chicken? The spring roll was not good either, it tasted weird and was very greasy. They used to be my go-to place for Chinese food and would usually have a decent portion. I hope they get it back. Just ordered takeout from Guilin for the first time - using the website, which is fantastic, by the way. Paid for my order with a credit card online. Hopped into the car to pick it up. The place was as described by other reviewers - spare. The cash register is in the back. One of the daughters was running the register. She was efficient and pleasant. We got the Pu Pu Platter. It is a set of fried appetizers, two of five different kinds, so perfect for sharing between two people. Tasted OK. Hubby liked the combination of flavors. We also got Beef & Broccoli. We thought it needed a little soy sauce to be just a little more salty, but everyone has different salt levels in their diet, so maybe that's a good thing. Definitely will order from them again. Have always gotten Chinese here because the sweet and sour sauce is the good stuff and not the pineapple onion thin BS they serve everywhere else. I also visited during Covid 19 and the safety measures they practiced was really smart and probably one of the better ones I have experienced. Heading east on US12 toward Saline, I called Guilin for a quick carry out---the usual: egg rolls, egg drop soup, Mongolian chicken and Mapo Tofu. At times a seven year old takes your order on the phone, so be patient. She got the order correct, and it awaited me as I pulled in the spacious parking lot. Others have commented on the interior. Let me add than when you head back to the bathrooms, obvious Beijing inspired posters of Chinese Communist Party leaders adorn the hallway walls. I believe I spotted the Chairman on one of them. The food is fabulous! Service on the phone, and when picking up order, very bad! Where I work, we have ordered here several times, very big orders. Recently when I called, I repeated my order 2x . They forgot 2 main entrees, when I called, the 12-13 yr old girl running the register, said " well I repeated it to you twice ...lol Then I went there today, again big order, same girl, just plain RUDE! My wife and I have been living in Saline for almost 2 years and hadn't found our "go to" Chinese restaurant. We got a menu in the mail for Gui Lin and decided to give it a try. The atmosphere is scarce and there's no signage when you walk in to tell you to whether to seat yourself or wait (go ahead and seat yourself!). That's why I only gave them 4 stars. Otherwise, my General Tso's chicken was very good and my wife's sweet and sour chicken was also great! The pork fried rice that comes with the dinner combos's was also very tasty and the portion size was just right. I would have to say that if food quality stays as good as this first meal this will definitely be where we go for sit down and carry out Chinese food from now on!! read more

I will not be ordering again. 1: every time I order over the phone the little girl (10yrs old, maybe) gets my order wrong. 2: the food has progressively gotten worse. The meat is a gelatinous rubbery substance. The fried rice tastes dirty. The worst fried rice I've ever eaten. It's even worse when reheated. 3:the online ordering is difficult to navigate and not smartphone friendly. There are things on the menu that the restaurant doesn't even have. 4: when eating at the restaurant the tables are filthy. The little girl takes your order in between working the register, doing her homework and running between tables with her little sister. She is often the only person I see in the restaurant and is not attentive to customer needs, like refilling drinks or asking if we need anything. I've given multiple chances for this restaurant to provide satisfactorily. I've ordered many different items from the menu. Three good things... it's fast and the vegetables are fresh. New to the area so this was our first time here.....and our last. 1.most biz is take out. They had tables to eat inside, but they were disgustingly sticky and dirty. Bathrooms were horrible and service was bad too. 2. Food was sub par. You could tell that most everything was jarred sauces. Nothing was home made or fresh tasting. Sauces were gelatinous and salty. Fried rice was the worst fried rice I've ever had. 3. For the food and atmosphere the bill was very expensive. Over $50 for 3 meals, side of soup and an appetizer. Remodeling my kitchen; Guilin delivers... soooo.... order some Low Mein and sweet and sour shrimp... crab/cheese Rangoon, Large wonton soup... pretty good and... they DELIVERED IT!!! Next week; same order and we added Almond Chicken.... but they sent something else that wasn't almond chicken, and the little 10 year old girl who runs the counter/answers phones tells me "I got what I ordered". No adjustment... no nothing. This young gal has been rude in the past, but I don't blame her; she's a kid... it's her parents who refuse to learn the language. This is it for me... No more Guilin It's not great food, but I'd order simple because of the convenience. read more

For a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant this place is REALLY good! The menu is extensive, and the dishes aren't just your basic fried meat slathered in sugary, salty sauces. Their crispy silken tofu rivals that of PF Chang's, and with the vegetables piled high and the sauce relatively light, I feel like I actually might be eating a healthy meal. For something more indulgent, I recommend the Coconut Shrimp which is tempura battered shrimp topped with a rich coconut cream sauce, and it is honestly something I could pay twice as much for at a 5 star restaurant and deem money well-spent. Lastly, the service is always great. The waitresses are very efficient and attentive :) I always enjoy coming here. read more

This is our "go to" place for chinese. Let's be honest you don't get chinese food because it's healthy! This is our favorite place in the area. I love the portion sizes, they are just right, usually bringing a little home. The general tso's is really good. Daughter likes the honey chicken. Atmosphere is quaint. It's a small place with about 10 tables or so. Family owned, don't be suprised if your order is taken by one of the kids. That being said, they are friendly and always give great service. I would eat here more if my cardiologist allowed it!! Try the beef roll. It's beef and cheese in an egg roll. Yumm! read more

Saline is a small town with pretty bad restaurants but good schools. We ate here once when it opened. Greasy, poor quality Chinese food. Ann Arbor has at least 4 Chinese restaurants I can think of that are better than either of Saline's two Chinese options. Subway nearby is quite good. read more
