I come here maybe once a week with some friends and the service is usually average. Our waiter that we usually have speaks quietly and we can't hear him and he doesn't come close enough to the table. Doesn't feel very personal. Today was bad though. We had a different waitress this time. I ordered sweet and sour shrimp, assuming it would be shrimp, veggies, and pineapple like at most places. Incorrect. It's just breaded shrimp and sweet and sour sauce. However, first she brought me chicken, which I sent back. She couldn't figure out what was wrong. Then she brought me coconut shrimp and I again had to tell her it was wrong. I then asked nicely just for another entree since they were having issues. She clearly didnt hear me because she asked if I wanted soy sauce shrimp. I said no, I ordered sweet and sour shrimp but I'd like something else. She said they couldn't because they already started the sweet and sour (which was not what she said before). When I got my food, the shrimp was bland and was just deep fried shrimp and sauce. Not how sweet and sour shrimp should be. This won't stop me from cooking back, I just now know to not try new things. I understand there is a language barrier, but customer and kitchen communication should be something that can easily be achieved. read more

I wanted to like this local spot (but couldn't). Even someone who lives here recommended it. Quick review: service was good (no issues like a couple other reviews) but food was not. My soup was cold and my chicken dish tasted like uncleaned shrimp. I have no idea how that happened and I hope it doesn't make me ill. I tried several bites but ended up covering the dish in soy sauce and just eating the vegetables... Even the unsweet tea was weird - it wasn't plain black but an earthy herbal black. You never know what you are going to get at a Chinese Take-out. This was very good. The portions were large, the soup was delicious, the fried wontons were also great. The Hunan Beef, Chicken, Shrimp was excellent. The Shrimp Cashew had a great flavor and lots of large shrimp, however it also had a ton of chopped celery, it was almost all celery besides the shrimp and nuts. It would have been better if there were more other vegetables in it. Good portion size for your money. Be sure to ask for napkins, utensils and bowls if you are going to a hotel or park instead of home, we didn't get any. Fortunately the breakfast room at the hotel had some. read more

The crab rangoons were amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! However, the chicken pad thai had NO flavor and the noodles were pink. The chicken was mushy? Not worth the price you can find chicken pad thai 10x better anywhere else. The food was also verging on cold. My friend ordered the chicken curry and it was also cold and the chicken was also mushy. I heard they do have good sushi though? I would try something else from here in the future possibly but will not be back anytime soon. read more

I'm a huge foodie since I grew up in a Chinese restaurant. And my boyfriend and I decided to treat ourselves to take out. The review on this place was so great on yelp we had to try this place. We got takeout from this place, excited to eat. But when we opened our containers we immediately smelled sour meat. He got beef and broccoli and I got a chicken dish. It was reeeeally bad, we had to throw the whole order away. It's really hard to believe a restaurant could serve something like that with no one else noticing. I was so angered from being served bad food I was tempted to call BBB and/or the health department and have them examine the rancid meat. With that said, maybe they were just having an off day. We travel through Ripon most wknds, and opted for a Sunday evening dinner on our way home. We ordered the dinner for 2: soup, ram tangoon, egg rolls, 3 entrees and dessert. It was very good! Good enough that I sent Snaps of the food to my daughter and now she wants to eat here as well. The building is understated, but very charming, tastefully decorated, and exceptionally clean inside. The service was very attentive. I wouldn't think twice about returning here, and in fact may be doing so in the next week if my daughter has her way. We ordered a large amount of food from here to feed about 10 people. We were visiting friends and my wife and I each took one bite and gave that look to each other that this food sucked. We didn't want to upset the festivities and quietly ate a few bites and left the rest to be eaten by those that did not seem to notice how awful this was. I tell our story this way because I want to illustrate why places like this stay in business. Bad taste. It seems that there are a lot of people that don't know that food should have flavor. If it looks like food they eat it and lots of it. It is kind of sad. I am told there used to be a pretty good Chinese restaurant in town that was in the old Republican House but that went out of business. Hopefully this town has another place for Asian food. Very rude and terrible customer service and merchandise service for DoorDash. The cashier was complaining about a plastic bag because the door dasher politely asked for one due a lot of customers that order delivery asking for a plastic bag due to bad weather and as a customer to DoorDash I even have asked the dashers to get plastic bags due to the weather changing too and the bags getting wet and ripping. I over heard the situation and the door dasher was trying to stay calm while the cashier was disrupting/cutting her off and being extremely disrespectful over a plastic bag. And said she was busy when in reality the cashier was not busy whatsoever. The cashier laughed at the doordasher and when everyone should be laughing at her for being such a bad server. My family and friends saw the situation and are going to rate this restaurant poorly due to their rude and disrespectful manner/attitude to the customers and DoorDashers .This is not the first time I have seen the customers being disrespected as well. The two ladys that run the cashiers up front are terribly rude and need to know how to be polite to their customers and doordashers that help pay and deliver their food. read more

I want to preface this review by saying that China One is under new ownership, ignore any of the reviews prior to Dec 2012. It has been completely remodeled with a new menu. We have been ordering take out from here for years. Before the remodel the inside was a bit dull. Now that they have remodeled the place is better than ever. It was a Wednesday night and we were looking for a place to eat before shopping. Normally we work on the list while we wait for our food. Tonight the food arrived so quick that we did not have time to get it done. We were seated very quickly by the hostess, who took our drink order. Our waitress, Meena, arrived quickly and took our food order. We ordered the regular sushi plate for an appetizer. Six pieces of sushi and a California Roll. I ordered the garlic chicken combo plate, and my wife ordered the shrimp with snow peas. The sushi platter arrived within 5 minutes, and it was very fresh and tasty. The meals arrived before we were done with the sushi. My dinner came with fried rice and an egg roll. The egg roll was mostly veggies, the flavor was very good. The garlic chicken was very good with just the right amount of heat. The only complaint I had was that it was luke warm, almost cold. My wife's shrimp with snow peas was hot with a fair amount of tasty shrimp. As we were eating, the waitress apologized and brought out the tofu soup that is served with the sushi platter. It was very good and hot. We were too full to each much of that. Over all we really liked the food. The server came back a couple of times during our meal to check on us. And the dill for the meal was less than $40. We will be back! read more

Don't waste your money herel The lady at the counter is very RUDE and our to go order was wrong. I gave her a coupon and she threw it back at me told me to use it next time.....what the heck I was ordering food today and with the rude service and bad food we got tonight we will never use that coupon. Pork Fried Rice shouldn't be hard and under cooked. And when a customer finds stuff missing from their to go order they should fix it not yell at you and tell you it was your fault!!!!
