Best Chinese food in solano. Specially the lunch specials. I highly recommend this restaurant.

China Palace has the best Cashew Shrimp lunch special in the whole County. I've tried the same dish at several other Chinese Restaurants but they cannot compare. I also love their Mongolian Beef, Shrimp Fried Rice, Eggplant dish, fried prawns, chicken wing appetizer and soup. The peanut dressing that they use in their salad is so delicious I wish they gave more of it in their lunch specials because it's a good dipping sauce for the fried wonton. This place is the BEST hole in the wall restaurant ever. I have been eating here since I was 7 years old with my mother (for 33 years now). The pot stickers are to die for & so are the egg rolls. I usually don't favor Chinese food because its oily but this place was rather good. A small little place, small 3 people only working there. My friend and I ordered wonton soup, mushu beef, and combination fried rice. I've never had moshu beef and it was rather tasty! There meat and greens were tasty also on the combination fried rice, a little too much soy sauce but it was still delish. The wonton soup was tasty as well, nice broth and yummy wontons. I recently took my children here. I have only been a few times, but I have always been happy with the service and quality. The lady serving us treated us like friends, not customers. She is very sweet. The won ton soup is perfect, the kids had three bowls each. I will defiantly be back. read more

So I've been a customer of China palace for over 15 years, I grew up in Fairfield and I lived downtown NOT FAR FROM CHINA PALACE AT ALL. I remember my mom would always walk me and my sister to China palace and we ALWAYS ORDER the egg foo young, beef with extra sauce to be exact and a steam rice for one. Back in the day it only cost about 8-10 bucks but with the way the world has changed and prices go up, I understood my egg foo young now cost me around 12-15. I HAVE NO PROBLEM PAYING FOR GREAT FOOD. NOW this yelp has NOTHING TO DO WITH THERE FOOD BECAUSE THE FOOD IS AMAZING, BUT the other older lady that shakes, IS SO FRIGGIN RUDE!!!!! LIKE I SAID IM a long-term customer I even went to school with her kids and it amazes me that I went in last night ordered my beef egg foo young 10/22/16 I called in my order as I always do she told me over the phone it would only be 20 minutes the time I place my order was at 5:45 so I assumed my food would be ready by 6:05 to 6:10 when I get there I pay for my food she tells me my order is $13 and some odd change and I hand her a $50 bill she hands me back $7 and I looked at the $7 confused because I handed her a $50 bill and my total was only $13 when she noticed that she had given me the wrong change she gave me an attitude as well as the correct amount of change then she told me that my food would be an additional 10 minute wait so I didn't argue with her I went to a liquor store and just to wait out the 10 minutes when I come back there is about 4 people in line and after had already paid for my meal I still had to wait, not only then she was still not trying to give me my food until my dad got sick of waiting in the car and came in yelling asking where my food was then she quickly handed me my food but she was so rude to me and I feel as a long term customer of over 15 years and ALOT OF MONEY SPENT I should have been treated better and again its only one of the cashiers that treats me this way. Before my last visit there (about 1 year ago) I would have given them at least 4.5 stars, but I have not been back. My co-workers and I would go there for the lunch special on the days they served the hot and spicy soup, I think it was Tues/Thurs. They make fabulous hot and spicy soup! Any way, the portions are decent and I always save my soup and take it home along with half of my lunch so I don't fall asleep at work from being too full. I have been doing this for a few years, several times a month. On my last visit, I asked for a container for my leftovers and the server told me I couldn't take my soup. I asked why and she said it was their policy because it was part of the lunch special. So are my shirmp, I said and it is not an all you can eat buffet, in which case the policy would make sense. I asked when they satrted the policy, because I had always had my lunch this way. She said it has always been this way. She was not a new server and may even be one of the owners. I asked why again because they will just have to throw away my soup. She held firm, so I asked her if their policy was to take uneaten soup and put it back in the soup pot or something. Otherwise, throwing away left overs that I had paid for didn't make any sense. I think I annoyed her with that question, but I am wondering what the deal is. Anyway, I have not been back since. I also shared my experience with our office and friends and family and many of them no longer eat there as well. I really wonder if they do recycle the soup--I have worked in food service before and have seen some icky things. The food is good, and the soup was great, but I (and my co-wokers) will not go back. This place is seriously, the only good chinese place in the Fairfield area....unless you think Panda Express is real chinese food. The place is a little hole in the wall, but the food is great !! I have eaten at this restaurant for over 22 years and their consistency, freshness and quality of food has remained the same. They offer the best Mongolian Beef in Solano County and the owners and staff are very courteous and friendly. When visitors and guests come into town, they all leave knowing about China Palace and refer to their dining experience often. When I call in an order and give my name, they remember what I want and when I dine in the restaurant, they don't give me a menu but ask, "same thing?" I have never had a bad meal or dining experience at China Palace and the food is always fresh. read more

This has always been a place for Chinese food for me and my boyfriend. The place is located in downtown Fairfield, and it's hole in the wall on Jackson and W. Texas St. It's low key and old, but the food is excellent. We had chicken fried rice and chicken wings on our first meal, and they both were great. The chicken wings was crispy on the outside and moist and tasty on the inside. We've been back on numerous occasions for various take-outs, and they were all delicious. Today we ordered string beans with oyster sauce and Moo-Shu pork. The string bean was cooked just perfectly with a slight crunch as you bite into it. The Moo-Shu pork was great too except for the pancakes. The pancakes were thin Mexican tortilla, not the authentic kind made of rice and water. The down side of this place is there's only one waitress. During busy dinner hours, she might not be able to quickly get to your requests, but she still tries her best to accomodate. Today we tried to order Chinese broccoli or bok choy or some type of Chinese vegetables, but they didn't have any Chinese vegetables at all, per the waitress. We were somewhat disappointed. So if you have cravings for Chinese vegetables this is not a good place to go. This place gets pretty busy during dinner time, you might want to call ahead for take-outs or eat early. During the summer, Fairfield has a farmer's market from 4-8pm, 3 blocks away on Jefferson and Texas St. You can walk off the calories you've eaten at the Chinese restaurant. =) read more

Won Ton soup was good. Love the dressing on the chicken salad but the chicken is very tough and dried up and scarce! It is buried in the dressing so you do not see it. Green beans in oyster sauce, beans shriveled and tasted funny...cost was $10 without any meat, asked how much with meat and thet said same price! First time here, chose the Hot and Spicy Pork lunch. The hot and sour soup was tasty and my lunch arrived before I'd finished it. Of course, the entree was too hot to eat right away so I nibbled around the edges. The salad was sad, old iceberg with a thick peanut sauce; I chose not to eat it. And I also passed on the wonton chip. Why eat it? The SnS Pork was really tasty and plenty of it. Def spicy, almost hot; I added a few dabs of chili sauce. Saved some for dinner; rehated it with a few more dabs of my home (not home-made) chili sauce and it was delish! Definitely coming back. read more

This is THEEE BEST Chinese Food Hands down!! I have been going here since I was in High School and I graduated 20 years ago. I live in Vacaville and anytime I get a Chinese food craving I drive to Fairfield to go to this resteraunt. Anyone who has said anything remotely bad about this resteraunt must be crazy because their food is beyond compare... especially any Chinese food in Vacaville. The Pot Stickers,Fried Chicken Wings, Shrimp Chow Mein and Shrimp Fried Rice are our absolute favorites!! The people who work there are so friendly and always warmly greet us when we walk in. I 100% RECOMMEND China Palace to everyone.. my kids LOVE it too, they fight over the left overs I bring home when my husband and I go out to dinner alone together there!!! LOL :) read more

We have been going to China Palace Fairfield CA for over 20 years and know the owners. We look our 5 kids here occasionaly for dinner, and still so and our grandkids, my parents, and more. It is the best Chinese Food we have ever had anywhere. We try other places but none are as good as this one. Great service, great food, reasonably priced.Dinner is always much better than lunch for some reason but lunches are a great deal and pretty good food. read more
