Stir fried pork and tofu, San bei ji, thickened pork soup
    Per R.

Our go to for Taiwanese takeout. It's legit! They have the best beef noodle soup in Monmouth County. We got their San Bei Ji (3-cup chicken) - delicious! The thickened pork soup was very flavorful. The stir fried pork with tofu was great as well.

Deep-fried "Meat Balls" (#2 on the menu) - SO GOOD

Have been here a couple times with family and friends and always left the restaurant with a VERY happy stomach :) FOOD - 5 stars - despite the name they serve some REALLY good Taiwanese dishes. Everything is so delicious! I love that the food is not too salty here. [DEEP-FRIED "MEAT BALL"] - MUST HAVE!!! I order this every time I come here without fail. The sauce is garlicky which I LOVE. You get two for $5 and they're quiet filling! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. [OYSTER OMELET WITH SAUCE] - more like a saucy pancake than an "omelet". well worth the $11 with all the oysters in it! Very delicious. [BRAISED BEEF NOODLE SOUP] - very good broth with tender beef (thick slices and lots of it!) It also has a nice kick of spice (but not overly spicy). AMBIENCE - 4.5 stars - the restaurant is attached to a bowling alley. the whole place has a pretty retro vibe to it but everything is well maintained and feels very clean! exterior can use some improvement. *They also have a bar which is quiet rare for a Taiwanese restaurant/bowling alley. Love it! Overall a very cozy place with solid good food. Will definitely come back for more!

You will NEVER believe that you can get Taiwanese food so authentic and delicate in this part of the country, where there are some Taiwanese people but really not a large community. Must come by and check it out to believe it!

This place is open for Take-out. No dine-in for now. Very authentic Taiwanese food, good portions and reasonably priced.

Love the food. Place not as expected but it doesn't even matter. I was able to buy Taiwanese comfort food. Will be a repeat customer.

The food was mediocre at best. The service left much to be desired. I will not eat here again...ever. wish I could have given it 1/4 star.

The delicate…read morewontons were packed with flavorful filling and coated in a rich, aromatic chili oil that delivered the perfect balance of heat, spice, and savory depth. The sauce had just enough numbing warmth without overpowering the dish, and every bite was incredibly satisfying. The texture combination of silky wrappers and bold sauce made it an unforgettable starter. Beyond the appetizer, the restaurant offered a warm atmosphere and attentive service that made the dining experience even better. The presentation was thoughtful, portions were generous, and the flavors tasted authentic and carefully prepared. If you enjoy dishes with a little spice and a lot of flavor, the wontons in chili oil are absolutely worth ordering. I would definitely come back just for them.

When it comes to food, I never judge a burger by its bun, so thanks to Yelp for helping me find it. The sign in the window says "Asian fusion" which usually sends me running as it's often a cop-out label for bad mixed-up Asian cooking, but this is authentic y'all, meaning true-to-tradition dishes with a sometimes more contemporary application of ingredients or flavors. The "fusion" part must come from the fact that they have a small Taiwanese section as well as the main Szechuan/Sichuan menu, alongside a few familiar Chinese-American favorites like sesame chicken or broccoli x protein, so you can get that here too. Everything we ordered was phenomenal! Great flavors, generous portions, cooked with confidence and finesse. Compliments to the kitchen - they really know what they're doing. Not a single dish was lacking. They even put out peanuts at the start and serve fresh orange slices at the end of the meal. Very old school. We loved it all: * Salt & white pepper crispy chicken ("Taiwanese specialty") - well-battered and flavored, and perfectly crispy * Taiwanese minced pork rice * Chicken red curry - fabulous, with fresh vegetables and just the right balance of spice * Golden dish (fish) - very special dish in a salted duck egg yolk batter * Beef chow fun * Marinated crispy duck Wish I lived closer, but will definitely come back when we are in the area. Best of the best - very highly recommended!

I came here specifically for Taiwanese food, and it ended up being better than I expected…read more The braised pork rice was a solid comfort dish, the stinky tofu was incredibly authentic (and definitely lives up to its name), and the "flies' heads" was perfect with rice. The stir-fried intestines were well seasoned without being overly greasy. It was also my first time trying pig's blood cake, which was an interesting experience. The basil clams were flavorful, though they looked more like regular clams than the smaller Taiwanese-style clams I expected. Unfortunately, I did get one clam that wasn't fresh. There is a parking lot behind the restaurant, but spaces are limited. Also, bring cash--they don't accept credit cards or electronic payments, and I had to run to an ATM because I was short.

Outstanding and worth the 35 minute wait for a table…read more We visited on a Wednesday at dinner time and waited on a bench outside until our table was ready. Once we were seated, the service was helpful and efficient. The menu is large and varied. Everything that we tried was delicious. The Spare Ribs with Garlic and Eggplant with Minced Pork were particularly good. The room is clean and comfortable.

We were able to get seated right away…read more We were seated in a tight spot and people were slightly squeezing behind me to get by so after we got seated, we moved over the table to the left a little so people could pass more comfortably. The hostess saw this and asked if we moved the table and told us not to do that... After we told her why we moved the table she said no don't do that. Odd... but ok. We got the pork sticky rice shumai, pork in garlic sauce over rice, sautéed string beans and pepper corn chicken. Shumai was ok. The pork in garlic sauce had way too much sauce and was a tad sweet for our liking; it was drowning in sauce. The strings and pepper corn chicken were very good. Both had a slight touch of heat. I wish we ordered differently but overall the food was ok. Our server was very nice and attentive. We're debating coming back to try more of the menu but with so many Asian/Chinese restaurants to try in Edison, I think we'd try someplace else.
