I won't claim to be a Chinese food expert by any means. Totally acknowledging that my preferences are "indulge me in a whole lotta delicious food" versus an authentic meal. Fortunately, they DID deliver on the quality and quantity in just the way I would expect. We ordered takeout - a LOT of takeout - for four people. Ultimately ended up getting about 5 different entrees, plus hot and sour soup. The soup was delicious, and much creamier than what I normally have. I'm super excited to have this right around the corner, since this is a dish I could never replicate at home. As for the rest of the food, it was all great. The Tiger Pork stood out as one of my favorites. It was surprisingly crispy, but didn't end up with that over-fried chewy texture a lot of fried meats can get. I also loved that their orange chicken had actual orange pieces in it. Yummy! Lastly, the service was great. We called in and they had our order ready in less than 30 minutes. The woman managing the takeout counter was so friendly and appreciative, and I'll be glad to come back and continue to support this local restaurant! One station with your basic Chinese buffet staples such as fried rice, lo mein, etc. and a smaller salad station. No dessert station. They charge $9.00 for the buffet. This place used to be one of my favorites. I'm not sure if the pandemic messed them up or what (along with the rest of the world which I understand). The quality is not there anymore and it's quite disappointing. I paid $41.01 ($36.01 + $5.00 tip). I got the sesame chicken, large chicken chow mein, and wontons. The chow mein is good, usually always is. The little chicken nuggets that come in the sesame were just straight breading and they were ginormous?? They used to be at least bite size. There was also barely any sauce in the container after I poured the nuggets onto my plate. There's usually a good amount to at least drizzle on the dry nuggets for everyone's plate. I, myself, hate when they suggest we go there for lunch, "i'll pass". BUT there is a but, if we are ordering take out for delivery.. this is my go to chinese spot in Hopkins. They are so very generous and kind. Very easy to understand (i can say that because i'm asian myself, know the struggle is real). Ordered alot of food for delivery. It arrived hot and ready. The driver called briefly on arrival which I was pleased with because it made convenient for me. The driver was nice, quick, had everything packed up, nothing forgotten. Didnt give the biggest tip but they were still grateful for it. The food is great a tad bit on spicy end, has a nice snake bite to it, so if you like that I suppose that's 5 stars. Fact: You don't go to most Chinese places for the atmosphere. Fact: Great Chinese Food (American Chinese Food) typically comes from the "hole in the wall" places where all the Asians flock to. My first experience with this restaurant was as a delivery. I loved the hot and sour soup which was balanced in sweetness, sourness and spiciness. I ordered the Hunan Chicken which was not offered on the menu but they adjusted. The Hunan Chicken was edible but lacked the flavor a true Hunan sauce has. Note, this place is a Cantonese based style of Chinese so spicy and savory aren't their specialty. I visited them at 11am (opening) for lunch. The door was still locked and the receptionist arrived at the same time. She knocked and the cook let us in. I was not planning on the buffet but it appeared the kitchen staff were behind on the buffet so I didn't want to be a bother and accepted my fate. The buffet was partially completed in being stocked. The ingredients all appeared and tasted fresh in the majority of the dishes. I was not so happy about the egg rolls which smelled musty and not fresh. The dumplings had wonderful flavor even without the sauce which is a huge win in my book. The sesame chicken, beef and broccoli and spicy chicken were good for Cantonese. The hot tea was great. It had a hint of floral jasmine. Service is lacking. The Chinese aren't known for their great service in most places. They are normally preoccupied. My recommendation.... Art and his employees are amazing if something isnt right about your order just explain it to them and they will take care of you. Surprisingly fresh! We ordered 30 minutes before they closed (I know I know) so we were expecting the scraps from the buffet, but everything we got was surprisingly fresh and piping hot! Also we got our order quickly, always a plus. I got the vegetable fried rice and cream cheese wontons (healthy!) and my fiancé got the sesame chicken. He said his chicken was perfectly crispy, not drowned in sauce, but a warning, they do come with chili flakes in them so if you're expecting the typical sweet tangy sauce, there is some spice. My fried rice was great; very hot and fresh, and the vegetables were great! I've never had green peppers in my fried rice before so that was interesting, and they were chopped in huge pieces, not minced or in thin strips, so I could see that they were good quality, no spots, and biting into them they were still firm and crisp so I knew they weren't soggy old scraps. The owner lady told me I can request Chinese dish(es) made to order, so I asked for stir fry Chinese broccoli with garlic sauce/paste (蒜蓉炒芥兰) politely speaking in Mandarin (Chinese). It's got a small selection compared to those larger, more expensive Chinese restaurants, but to be honest with you, the food quality is just better here. The staff are really friendly, and honestly, it seems that quite a few people come here just to eat by themselves, so that tends to speak volumes about a place. My family and I ate here 2 years ago and vowed to remember the name and location. But, since we are not from the area, everyone forgot everything. Today, we were back in the area and figured out where to go again. This place is definitely worth the trouble to find. We had the best Chinese ever consumed 2 years ago and hoped it would be the same today. We were not disappointed. Not the best experience with takeout. I ordered the chicken chow mein not realizing that the "old fashioned" in smaller typing meant it was completely different from the regular version. I hadn't even seen the "old fashioned" in small type because we were in a hurry to grab a quick meal before the game. By way different I mean... mushy veggies in thick gravy with tiny thin slivers of chicken. Not the best sight when getting quick takeout. The kung pow chicken wasn't too spicy either and had a bland taste. The pricing was great but double check what you're ordering if you're getting the traditional chicken chow mein! The pricing on the traditional totally beat special chicken chow mein so you'll be tempted... Most of their delivery people either don't know (or pretend not to know) how to call from the phone in the lobby of my building, precluding me being able to buzz them in, or flat out refuse to come to my apartment door, in either case forcing me to come downstairs for my food. I don't tip for lousy service. Phone calls to try and resolve issues are useless and end up with them hanging up on me. I'll never order from them again. I get the rough but not the diamond part that other people mentioned in their reviews. Wonton soup - thin, tasteless broth with mealy, sour tasting wontons. Fried rice - very dry. Would be a nice change from overly greasy fried rice, but it was just bad. Lo mein - also dry and flavorless. My noodle-loving, lo mein-loving kids would not eat it. Kung pao- the most ok dish of the bunch, but nothing I would get again. Egg rolls - perfectly adequate, nothing special. We will not be ordering again. The search continues. read more

There is no alcohol and the canned beverages are not refillable. The buffet was nicely organized and labeled so you know what you're eating. Buffet included a salad bar, egg roll, Chinese pork, chicken and beef options along with lo mein, steamed or fried rice, soups (hot and sour and egg drop today). I was full because I tried a little bit of almost everything, but would only go back for the Sesame Chicken. As far as weekday lunch buffets go, this is a great place to fill up at a good price if you're in the area. But don't get there right at the beginning of the buffet.
