The food was awesome. They have a vegetarian menu, though it's not totally clear what's vegan. We made educated guesses, based on what a vegan influencer posted. We got hot and spicy mock beef, general tso's mock chicken (this was hands down the best), kung pao tofu (amazing), and veggie and bean curd soup (this wasn't something I would recommend). The prices were very reasonable for big portions. If you're looking for ambiance or fancy dining, this won't be it. There was only 1 table and it's not clear to me that you can eat in. So I would stick to takeout!

I paid around $10 for this and it was a TON of food-- I ate on it for two meals. Great sweet and should chicken and the fried rice was some of my favorite. Will definitely return.

The food is flavorful and these take away containers are packed to the brim. The service is swift, consistent, and on top of things. We order various mock options and every-time the order is correct and completely together, with no items ever missing. Such a treat!

Everytime I come here it is always delicious. I dont know why people let some rude experiences from others impact their mood for how yummy food can be. I personally only ever have good experience with everyone I dealt with here. But seriously there are different customs. I come from a family not from the US and just because someone doesn't try and make you feel like royalty doesnt mean they don't have delicious food!! That being said. As a vegetarian their menu is straight up BANGING and for the prices its sometimes surreal. Most hipster places throughout Richmond will charge much more for dishes like these, and the portion sizes are large. This is chinese American to the fullest, so it is super catering to that crowd. Vegetarian wontons are hard to find, and these are vivid green and so yummy, fried to perfection. The crispy eggplant may not be the healthiest option but the garlic sauce is so thick, there is a balance of sweetness and umami and its dynamite! Seriosuly it is hard to go here and not get this dish. The mock sesame chicken is perfect, yo seriously their recipe for their imitation meat is delectable. And everything tastes fresh. The vegetable lo mein may seem thinner than other places but it is tasty! Right amounts of flavor, not overly saucy. Real good. The string beans have a kick and it is perfect! Id let it kick me all damn day because of the pieces of garlic and pepper. Delicious! All in all. I can't speak on the non vegetarian menu. But try branching out! Because this food is so good.

I ordered the mock orange chicken and steamed veggies, it was a whole lotta food for a good price. I've never had anything to fill the orange chicken void in my heart before until this. 10/10 recommend, my food was ready and I was in and out quickly with my delicious food! Staff was also friendly and I can tell their food is cooked with love.

I was craving Chinese food and decided to order from here since I hadn't tried them in awhile and I'm so glad I did! I ordered the sweet and sour chicken with crab rangoon and it was delicious! I'm very picky about my sweet and sour sauce but their sauce is the best I've had in richmond from any cheap takeout Chinese place. The chicken was fluffy and perfectly cooked; I enjoyed it so much! They also included a free Chinese scroll calendar in my delivery and it was such a beautiful unexpected surprise! I loved it! I will definitely be ordering from here more often in the future.

I ordered their mock sesame chicken after getting a recommendation to try their vegetarian meats and this did not disappoint, it is so crispy and flavorful. Food preparation was quick too

What's vegan on their menu? I looked at the menu and they have a vegetarian section but not a vegan section?

Everything on the vegetarian menu is vegan. However, they're rude and the food is just okay. I'd recommend going to my noodle and bar. Better food and service.

Tulsi feels extravagant and upscale from the moment you enter. The lighting was lovely, each of the different lamps exquisitely lining the walls provided a golden hue throughout the space. We were seated immediately with no reservations. The atmosphere was quiet and cozy, great for couples to catch up and talk about their days or get to know one another. Our server was attentive and polite. He gave us time to peruse the menu at our leisure, while he brought out the gratis before-the-meal appetizer. It was like a crispy naan with three distinctly different sauces. It really was quite delicious. I ordered the Chicken Konkani and my partner had the Chicken Curry. As connoisseurs of a great many Indian restaurants, we quite enjoyed the entrees at Tulsi. I savored the coconut creaminess of the Konkani. I also tried my partner's curry, and it had a rich aromatic flavor as well. We didn't try dessert because we were simply too stuffed by the end. The choices were almost tempting enough to persuade me, but we refrained. Tulsi is for lovers, just like Virginia, so we were in great company. I wholeheartedly recommend giving this spot a chance. We will definitely be back to partake in the fine dining experience on offer here.

I like spicy food, have a high tolerance, but I was shocked at how spicy they prepare this thing. Still, I liked it. I skimmed over the ingredients when ordering and didn't even notice it's a vegan pie with some plant based "chicken" on it. That part was a little strange and it was somewhat rubbery, but whatever. The pity stars they received didn't justify for the fact that it was just bad. The mix of flavors are all over the place and the prices for a fast food chain are a bit high. They charge $7 for a burrito and if you would like to add on chicken, tofu, or falafel it is another $2 and beef is $3. Then you get the burrito, I was told that it is a large burrito and when I think large and for as long as they took to make, the burrito would be the size of a chipotle burrito. It comes out, and it is 1/3 the size, and for having a really short line it was pretty disappointing. On to the burrito, it looked pretty and that was the other reason for getting one star. Taste wise, they mixed too many flavors trying to make a tex mex burrito into an asian fusion / vegan place. Ultimately, it was a disappointment to see a healthy option that was poorly executed. They should really consider optimizing their process so patrons don't have to wait as long, focus on making the flavors balance/complement each other and not over power each other, and lastly why the heck do I have to pay extra for meat. $10-12 bucks for a horrible burrito makes me want to walk the 4 blocks to chipotle to get something that I know will be 100x better.
