    General Tso's Chicken
    Rich S.

A shell of its former self Food If I had written this review a year or two ago I would have said it was our favorite place to get Poke bowls. The food was fresh unique and delicious. It isn't an exaggeration to say our whole family LOVED it! We went back today to find that they no longer served poke bowls and only had boring Chinese food. We were hungry so we stayed anyway. The General Tao Chicken and fried rice was some of the worst I have ever had. Rice is flavorless. Chicken was too sweet and not good quality meat. The Beef with mixed vegetables was terrible. Only thing decent was the egg drop soup. Service Don't have any complaints. They are nice and helpful. Ambiance Nothing special has a few tables to sit at. Decor is boring. Place is clean enough. So I really hate to leave this review because it went from our favorite place to eat when we were in the area to a place I would never go back to. So sad like a little part of me has died.

We stopped in for lunch and ordered sesame chicken combo platter and General Tso combo platter. There is no lunch menu like some other places and the combo platters are around $12 each. They come with entree, fried or white rice, and an egg roll. The general tso chicken was good. Flavorful and not spicy at all, which is what I'm used to. There also was no broccoli. The fried rice was a bit dry. Even after I added soy sauce it seemed like day old, refrigerated rice. The sesame chicken was the exact same chicken with sesame seeds. Service was average and the inside was nice and clean. If I'm in the area I'd try again, but definitely not taking a special trip to visit again.

About a 2-2.5: Lucky Chopsticks seemed to be a favorite Chinese take-out spot for the locals; their menu is pretty extensive, offering various apps, soups, fried rice, chicken/pork/shrimp/beef entrees, lo mein/rice noodle dishes, chef's and house specialties, side orders, and drinks. I had read that they had one of the best egg rolls around, so we checked them out while we were in the area. I ordered 2 shrimp egg rolls - these are not listed on the menu, but you can make a special request; kind of like ordering from a 'secret' menu. I'm not sure what was going on back in the kitchen, but it took a long time to get the order - whether someone stepped out to get ingredients, the egg rolls were being made by scratch, the order was forgotten, or the staff was busy taking their lunch break, the wait was a bit overboard. The egg rolls did come out piping out; unfortunately, the flavor was just mediocre - the filling was mostly cabbage, which I didn't mind, but there was hardy any shrimp - it seemed as if there was only a small halved shrimp in the center of it, and that was it. Adding the duck sauce and the hot mustard didn't really help it, and there was a slight old oil taste to them. One thing that was so off-putting was the smell when you step inside - it literally smelled like a sewage plant; not sure if this was an issue that they were facing that day, but the store could have fixed this before opening for business. Definitely will make you lose your appetite and think twice before coming back here again... The staff were friendly, and I liked the cute cat figurines that lined up on the side of the counter. Street parking can be found in the area. +awful sewage smell in the restaurant +friendly service +street parking available in the area

I got the poke bowl with one protein ($13) build your own. They loaded a lot of rice into my bowl, and gave decent scoops for all the toppings I wanted. Sushi rice base was warm but could use a bit more sesame oil on it. The spicy tuna was good, but could've had a bit more in the scoop. OG sauce was quite good with the rice. Overall a good takeout poke spot with fair prices. Food: 6.9 Staff/service: 7.0 Value: 7.5 Overall: 7.1/10

Man I just got their crab rangoon and a shrimp egg roll and it was so tasty. The filling is super creamy and there was 6 per order. We also got 2 fortune cookies in one pack along with duck sauce and soy sauce for the food! It's street parking and pretty clean inside. The service was nice too.

I came here reminiscing of the Eatery that stood here for many many years prior and it was a clean, quick spot for a snack. As I was only a bit peckish after a day of traipsing around the city on GRTC and would likely eat a proper lunch with my family, I snagged two shrimp rolls (unlisted on the menu). The counter person was cordial and prompt with the order and the prep. I sat un the space, enjoying to cool day which crunching on the hot, house made egg rolls. It taste was a bit different than I'm accustomed to and the mustard was peculiarly flavored, but otherwise decent. I hear the wings are phenomenal, so maybe next time I'll try them. It seems to still be a local favorite for all walks of life; tourists, business people, college kids, and retail employees, alike, much like its predecessor. Hopefully they will be as successful.

Fast and easy pickup. Placed order via online system. Went right after getting off work to take home the food and I walk in and the guy I was picking up the order from says that I looked tired. Thanks? Anyway, good portion size and everything was cooked fine but the food didn't wow us. My measure for takeout American Chinese is if it is better than or cheaper than Panda Express and unfortunately, I feel I get a better deal at Panda over Lucky Chopsticks. Probably won't return for Chinese food but open to trying one of their poke bowls. They did give me a cute takeout reusable bag though!

The space is huge for a walking-mall restaurant, with several dozen tables and booths. Music is nice background not overly loud. Service was absolutely excellent and food came out within minutes. Empty dishes picked up within seconds. We ordered an appetizer of crab rangoon. It came to us hot and tasty but to be honest it had little to no fake crab in it. That was a little disappointing. For our mains I had chicken stir fried noodles and pork soup dumplings. When it was put in front of me I thought the noodles looked like a smallish portion but this turned out not to be the case -- the dish was more than adequate and very nicely composed. I enjoyed every bit of it but barely finished it. The soup dumplings were umami-on-a-spoon. Served in a steam basket, these were very warm and the broth inside was just perfect. I thought it was a tad salty, my wife disagreed. And since it was her main course and not mine, I will bow to her opinion. This was a nice casual meal, especially for the price. If you go, do not pass up the opportunity to walk up to the bao station and watch the food being made. Our server encouraged us to do this, and it was really interesting, and the staff doesn't seem to mind the attention!

I had only planned on spending $60 or so but ended up spending $140 including a great tip for my waiter. I got the Fried Chicken Banh Mi, Dan Dan Noodles, and my guest ordered the Brisket Pho, and Singapore noodles alongside a Mojito and their coconut ice cube drink (blanking on the name). I loved every bite of my food. The Daikon Radish was the highlight of the Banh Mi and I was in love with every bite. Visibly dancing and gleaming with joy while eating + the great music being played also helped. I didn't eat my sandwich until it got cold as I like to finish a dish before trying another. I started with the Dan Dan noodles and had to drink 3 of the liters of water by myself to finish my meal . I took my guest's peppers and my peppers and crushed them up into my Dan Dan plate with all the seeds that came with them. In addition I also used all the chili oil paste it came with as well. It was so damn great I enjoyed every second. My guest loved their pho and didn't stop eating it and ate half of their Singapore noodles before getting full and having to take it home. They absolutely loved their drinks and it was so fun to watch the bartender make the drinks. Two shakers in hand mixing the drinks and oh boy were they strong . We will definitely be back!!! Oh and they also had chopsticks for us to use and we ate our entire meal with them. I knew I was in for a whirlwind of flavor when the ethnicities of the cooks matched the restaurant and patrons of color from Pakistani, Black, Indian, Korean, Thai, and more were dining in . Only downsides for me personally were the Singapore noodles but it wasn't my dish. I tasted them and didn't think they were for me I usually prefer a different ratio of seasoning for my Singapore noodles. My guest whose favorite dish is Singapore noodles quite adored them. Though they did say the Singapore noodles I make at home are better they still crushed it and the next morning woke up and crushed the rest with a smile on the face . Only thing I didn't like was the pho but that's my personal taste getting in the way. I don't like fish based broths but my guest ate every single last dropped and loved it! So if that's your alley go for it!!! 10/10 will try again!!! P.S. please tip the staff graciously they work so hard. If you're going to order a $100 worth of food don't be the person not tipping or tipping $10 when the service was excellent. Yes tipping cultures shouldn't exist but until they're paid a fair wage please continue to do so. I really hope this restaurant doesn't sell out like other restaurants (En Su Boca )

The ambiance was great, the portions were incredibly generous, and the staff was friendly, attentive, and completely on top of their game. Drinks arrived fast, and the entire meal flowed beautifully without a single hitch. But let's get to the real highlight of the night: the Tsingtao beer-battered mushrooms. Oh my goodness, they were out of this world! I felt slightly anxious at first, being that we were in a cozy two-top amongst the fray, but it subsided quickly because everyone was respectful and reasonably quiet. We ordered the veggie spring rolls to start, and I had the Chinatown Ramen, and my partner had the Chicken Fried Noodles. The appetizer was hot, savory, and spicy with the duck sauce and hot mustard mixture. If you like milder sauce, do not mix it. The entrees came out within five or so minutes of the appetizers, which seemed quick for a busy night. The ramen was spicy, hot, and filling. I was only able to finish about half. We will be enjoying those leftovers tonight. My partner said that her noodles and chicken were well-seasoned and delicious, too. Looking around the restaurant, it is clear that they support the local LGBTQ+ community, and it is even labeled as a Safe Space on the beautifully manicured, makeshift chalkboard/menu/posting board. The clientele and staff alike seemed warm and kind, based solely on limited interactions and observation on my part. If you are looking for a traditional American-Chinese food restaurant (think buffet-style items), this is likely not the place for you. There were no mishaps or snafus with our orders. Liza performed her duties well, and I can surely recommend this restaurant to anyone who doesn't mind a mix of Japanese and Chinese cuisine.
