When I visit a Chinese Restaurant, you can tell a lot by the rice. If the rice is good, more than likely everything else will be good. When the rice isn't good at all like at Chinese Pavilion, you end up with some mess of a dish. Last time coming by here. The rice is bland...very much like brown rice. The orange chicken was just ok...it's weird because I can't really explain the taste of it. The chicken was cooked ok, but the sauce just didn't taste good at all. Thank you though. I have been a customer at china Pavillion in Irving for over 4 years. This is the first time I have had a bad order. I order chicken Lo mein and hot and sour soup. The lonmein was dry and unseasoned and the hot and sour sour was horrible. I called to talk to a manager and the young lady I spoke to told me she would tell the boss. I asked her so I guess I will just keep my food because she didnt do any thing to make the matter better. I had to keep my nasty food and I want be getting anything from CHINA Pavillion any more. Fried rice tastes like American brown rice! I tried to save it with a good amount of soy sauce it was meh..the chicken portion of the plate was filled like maybe 60%...? Noodles taste cheap no flavor similar to ramen but a much larger noodle and it doesn't taste oriential only the chicken does but honestly the chicken is mostly dough thin piece of chicken in there if it's in at all I apologize for the harsh review but I could have gone to a buffet for a cheaper price. Yummmmm! Food was so fresh and hot. They give you so much. My poor stomach is so full. Taking the rest for lunch tomorrow. This was a new place we wanted to try walked in looked at the menu asked what all came in the rice before ordering because around here they like to add bean sprouts and we aren't big fans of "a lot"being in the rice. The online system was relatively straightforward, and it took about forty minutes, from placing the order to getting the food in our hands. The only confusion I encountered with the site was that I paid for the order with a credit card and requested paying the tip with cash. But at pickup, the delivery man said the full order needed to be paid in cash (why take my credit card number then?). I ordered the broccoli with garlic sauce, which was more heavily tinged with the flavor of ginger than I would have liked but it was just fine. The fried rice was also somewhat bland but a few squeezes from the soy sauce packet doctored it up. My husband ordered the chicken lo mein, which surprisingly came with rice on the side. The beef was tender and flavorful, and the veggies were cooked well. The egg roll was crispy. The fried rice was good as well, but it was missing some soy sauce and onions. Very fast delivery even though it says 60-70 mins. It's more like 20mins. Portions are great for what we pay. The fried rice does look like brown rice though but other than that, if you want something fast and delivered, I recommend it. Just ordered he General Tso's chicken and it is great. As far as the food it's alright nothing to rave about But it kills the Chinese food craving. So far I've tried the sesame shrimp 3/5 and chicken 2/5 ( sesame chicken was bland and soggy) :( , shrimp eggrolls 3/5, veggies and shrimp 3/5, fried rice 2/5, the veggie fried rice 3/5, I love my veggies I will say those are always cooked perfectly so far they have the right amount of crisp not over cooked. This restaurant was posted in my hotel rooms handbook as a preferred local delivery business. I called in an order for delivery for two meals (to eat over two days). I ordered chicken & broccoli and beef & broccoli, both spicy. The order taker said 45 minutes for delivery. Slightly less than 30 minutes later, the food was delivered to my room by a friendly driver. I gave him a very good tip. I ate the chicken broccoli. (They surprised me by adding a couple complimentary egg rolls.) It was hot, fresh and delicious with the perfect amount of spice. I put the beef broccoli in the refrigerator. The next day I microwaved the beef broccoli in my hotel room. Even reheated, the entrée was very good. Broccoli was firm, beef was tender. Overall, this was a great experience for delivery food. The Dragon shrimp was whole shrimp fried with special seasonings which was pretty tasty. I asked that the garlic sauce for the broccoli be on the side so I could enjoy just plain steamed broccoli. But I tasted the sauce and it had an interesting flavor but was too thick for my taste. I'm just not into thick or salty sauces so I wasn't a fan of the sauce.
