The young lady told me it's thick noodles with celery, carrots, green and white onions, etc. I said GREAT that's exactly what I want. Can I have General Tso's Chicken with lo mein instead of rice. She said we can do a side of lo mein but we can't substitute it for rice. Ok, give me the GTs and a side of lo mein. I received some thin spaghetti noodles with soy sauce nothing else in this "lo mein" so I go back.... To make a long story short the manager ended up telling me I will give you a refund and never ever ever come back. I said don't worry I won't ever come back and I will tell all my friends not to come. She said well because you said that I'm not giving you a refund. Very nice and clean store. I and my colleague came here for lunch. But it wasn't crowded, there were probably 5-7 customers. I ordered beef with garlic sauce and my colleague ordered Mongolian triple delight. They both came with a bowl of soup. I got egg drop soup and she got wonton soup. Right after we made our order, the waitress brought us the soup. And about 5 minutes later, foods were served. It was very delicious. The beef was tender and the garlic sauce was flavorful. I think this restaurant is one of the best Chinese restaurant in Humble area. This place is for sure our go-to place whenever we want Chinese foods. Walking in the place was clean, the staff was friendly, and seemed like we had missed the evening rush. The wonton and hot and sour soup were delicious. The Hunan chicken good, next time however I will try something more spicier and I really didn't care for the tenderness of the chicken. The TSO chicken was better! Its sauce was well seasoned. The fried rice could have been better. It didn't have much flavor. The pork dumplings were also good and the sauce they had paired well with them. The restaurant had a good amount of lighting. I finally made it to Humble's newer chinese only, sit down style restaurant. Their service was a little spotty, took a while to get someone to notice me when I walked in, also took a while to get my dish after ordering it. This wasn't because they were busy either. The wonton soup was a little salty. Temperature of my dish was not that hot, except for the egg roll which was fresh out of the fryer. The brown sauce covering the beef of my pepper steak was also more salty than the typical pepper steak I order at other places. Lighting is dim on both sides of the restaurant. My wife had a craving for good Chinese food and found this gem. Loved the bright and comfortably cozy atmosphere. The second we walked it, we just felt the good and positive vibes. We were greeted and immediately felt at home. Not a large number of tables but that just added to the feeling that you were going to be their special guest. The service was quick and friendly when we were seated. My wife had the sweet and Sweet and Sour Chicken and I tried the General Tso 's Chicken. The sauces on both were rich and full of flavor, using it also as a topping by dragging the chicken fried rice through it. Wow! The portion were enough to where we had to box up our left over chicken dishes, chicken fried rice and egg rolls to take with us. You get a choice of soups too. The hot and sour was well balanced in flavors and would definitely try again. We both too the carry out menus as they are in my way home from work and I know I'll be making a stop soon to call in a pick-up order for us to enjoy at home. 5 Star all the way and we will be back (is that line from a movie or...?)! read more

I have ordered to go from here many times. Delivery is quick and efficient. Over the past weekend, my husband and I decided to dine in for the first time. It wasn't packed for a Saturday night, but orders were rolling in for to go. Everything tasted great as always. My only complaint is the wonton soup had unidentifiable small meat slices mixed in. They looked undercooked whatever they were, so I didn't finish the soup. I'm pregnant so I can't have anything that is close to undercooked. The shrimp with mixed vegetables was not fresh. The shrimp was mushy. The chicken wings were hard and greasy. I'm never ordering from here again. I can cook better with my feet, this is how bad it taste. The first bite I almost throw up!!!!! The texture of meat is weird, like it was soaked in some kind of chemical to make it more tender. The Mongolian beef I ordered was bad too. I can taste laundry powder from it, I guess they use laundry powder instead of dish detergent, and whoever cleans the dish or pot didn't do their job well. This is first time in my life I want to curse instead of just leaving. The lady who works there had very cold face and no greeting at all. My wig and I love the food at China River and it has become our go to place when we are craving some awesome Chinese food! Our favorite is the Sesame Chicken. Won ton soup, and an order of egg rolls. Chicken is plump and tender, the soup has veggies and meat in it,. Also, the egg rolls are crispy and not soggy. If you get it to go, be sure and get their hot mustard made in house. I've been coming here since I was a little boy. Now I'm an adult with a little boy and a wife, and I live an hour away from China River. Every Chinese place around us is merely a reminder that they aren't China River. Nothing compares to it. For that reason, from time to time we make that hour long drive and either eat there, or bring it home and reheat it. Tonight was one of those nights. We brought a freezer bag and put the food in it when I got in the car. It took an hour to get home, and thanks to the freezer bag it was still super hot and delicious. We always get the Lo Mein (mine without veggies cause I'm allergic) with steamed (me) and fried rice (her), egg rolls, and wonton soup. We also get wonton strips and the sweet and sour red sauce and eat them like chips and salsa. My wife puts the sauce on her fried rice and egg rolls. And we always have enough for leftovers. Look, why am I saying all this? Cause this place is the best kept secret in Humble. If you are looking for amazing Chinese food, this is the place. Makes an amazing date night or family night out. But then came the food. At first glance it looks normal until you take a bite. Pan Fried dumplings - decent and huge. 8 pz for 5.95 is a steal tbh compared to other places (other than an actual dumpling house) Lemon Chicken w/ fried rice - very different, almost Hawaiian in my opinion. Breaded and fried chicken, very light and crispy, not oily. Comes with a lemon sweet sauce comparable to sweet n sour, but lemon... ?? Sweet Pickled cabbage and carrots to accompany. Everything is right about this Resturant. The service the food. We've been going there since we've been in Humble. They are the most consistent dining place I've ever been to.
