Best Chinese take out in the Valley! Never had a bad dinner from them .. Always quick and fresh.

The food I've enjoyed all of these years is gone. I've heard rumblings that in the last year or so, they went downhill and now I've confirmed its true. I used to drive the 20+ min for my favorite American Chinese dish General Tso's Chicken. China sea always made it best. Well after a long day of work and gym I decided to take the drive. I was on a call outside and found it strange that there wasn't a steady flow of traffic in and out like there used to be. Went Inside, service wasn't warm and welcoming like it used to be. Got my food,drove home and ate without taking pics bcuz I knew I had gotten this dish so many times and previously posted pics. First observation was that it the rice looked different. It wasn't the fluffy light fried rice I was used to. It didn't taste good (to me) it had some kind of sauce, maybe soy(?)Incorporated. Yuck. And then the chicken... it was solid from overcooking, but not crispy and there were a lot of smaller bits and pieces, not the delicious chunks that I was used to. The sauce was just okay. Also got fried wontons. The filling was skimpy and they were definitely over fried. They were hard to eat and didn't dip well in the sauce. The sauce was yummy. A positive is that they now offer online ordering! But It really was a waste of $20. And if the food was a little off, I could understand because on occasion every restaurant/chef has a bad night ... but this was like I was eating at a totally different place than the 1 I've enjoyed since my teenage years.... Stopped on a whim the other night for dinner.... Overall the food was pretty good. Ordered small ribs, 2 spring rolls & 2 Combination Dinners - General Tso & Roast Pork w. Chinese Vegetable. Received free cheese ragoons because our order was over $35. They do have other options based on the dollar amount you spend, which is a nice perk. The ribs and wings were much better than other Chinese places. As far as the dinners go they were tasty. Even though we got the cheese ragoons for free I would not order them again. They used too many wonton wrappers which caused the ragoons to be chewy and they held a lot grease. I would go back. Overall: Your standard Chinese food take out place! Location: Ok, so I'm going to be honest up front. The location of this place is not the best... The plaza looks like the property owner gave up and left years ago. It's in poor condition and mostly vacant. It basically contains this restaurant, a smoke shop, and a liquor store. It's not a place I'd bring kids. It's just got creepy dark alley vibes. This is not a sit in place. It's a place you grab your food and go. Food: A friend of mine introduced me to this place when I was hanging out at his house one time. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food is. Especially the boneless spare ribs. They are really good (and I've gotten them a few times now). I'm now a repeat customer of this place, even though the location is terrible. Staff: Friendly! Not much else to say. I had ordered honey chicken wings with fries. I loved it I've had it before. This is sweet and sour sauce and the fries are completely soaked in it. I ordered $60 worth of food and this is what mine was. I have always ordered from them and loved their food for many years. This doesn't happen often. And this is my first time complaining or calling them to complain. The girl who answered had a bit of an attitude. The person that came on afterwards who said he made it told me I should have ordered the chicken wings and the fries separate. He didn't even offer a credit. I'm very unhappy about this. It's really a shame. I never had a problem with orders before and had hoped he works have compensated.. lesson learned read more

Dont go here. They lie to customers namely the owner. I placed an order and when he gave me total it was a bit more. He said he raised prices 1 year ago but my last order less than 2 months ago did not reflect. Could have made me a lengthy customer a one time good will gesture. He does not value good customers. Beat Chinese food I have had in along time. They didn't short on flavor and had some great selections I have never seen before. We enjoyed the orange beef (similar to General Taos's chicken), boneless spare ribs, lo mein, beef and baby corn. The fried dumpling was the only thing that wasn't my favorite. Today I was just wishing for a Chinese food meal....the kind you found on your plate many years ago. China Sea is just that place! most Chinese restaurants specialize in its own ethnic background, so it may not be too easy to pinpoint. The review on Yelp says it delivers, so I called in an order. A very short time later my food appeared. As I enjoyed my food I realized that this is what I had been craving. I would imagine that if you are a "super senior" you will feel as I do. I really wanted to hate the food from China Sea because I have always been a China Garden fan. But tonight I couldn't leave to pickup the food because I take care of my 2 elderly parents and can't leave them alone. So I had to find somewhere else to go and so I got online and checked out the Chinese food in my area. I was not cooking tonight so...I decided to give China Sea a try. I also read on "Next Door" that China Sea was highly recommended. Wow, I LOVED it. The free crab rangoons (thank you so much) were so creamy and had a great crab flavor. I was truly worried about the boneless spareribs because those are my favorite, but they were better than CG's theirs are usually burnt and tough. But CS's were not fatty and they were very tender and a lot of meat too. The roasted pork fried rice and house special lo mein where really good and loved the garlic sauce on the broccoli. I will definitely go back. The only thing that I thought was just okay were the roasted pork egg rolls but I can live with that! Again, thanks for the free crab rangoons that were awesome! read more

This is one of my two favorite Chinese restaurants in the world. I've been Lucky enough to try Chinese foods from tons of major cities but I I've going home to the Sea. I love the wonton soup, egg rolls, steamed dumplings chicken fried rice, sweet sour chicken, chicken with garlic sauce. All yummy. Everyone there is so friendly, they treat you like family. Only part of are order was delivered after spending $50 and waiting over an hour. Wife calls and spoke with some guy with a bad attitude and he says wah you wan me to do bout it!? He said your going to have to wait at least 30 minutes. After going back and forth a little bit my wife says this is the last time we will order from you. His response was good. Always friendly service. They were recently robbed (or someone attempted to rob them) we happened to call while it was happening and they said "we have situation, we call you back" and you know what, two hours later they called us back and apologized. Wether it's perfect food or not, that's respect. They had nothing to apologize for, but their care for their customers speaks volumes. Good people is all I can say. read more

I had a house full of unexpected guests and took a chance. I had heard that it was good but it was better than I anticipated. Everything seemed to be cooked fresh. The chicken and rice soup was delicious, my husband said that the beef with orange was good but not the best he'd ever had. Brother in law said the beef with curry was excellent. The pork fried rice was so good, not greasy at all. All in all very happy with my choice of restaurant. The food from China Sea was very, ver salty. I am not sure if thet use MSG, however, it seem to have this falvor as my wife is very sensetive to MSG. I would not order from this place again as it is mediocre at best. read more
